I don't live far from Banff and so I visit 2-3 times a year and I *always* book at the Banff Park Lodge. I love an in room Jacuzzi, so I will enjoy a soak in the morning and the evening. We park the car and leave it there - the location is perfect for walking downtown banff and grabbing a bus to other attractions.

Right in downtown area, short walking distance to the main avenue, with retail stores, restaurants, bars, supermarket, convenience store, gas stations, Medical offices, Pharmacy, one block from the Bow River (a nice stroll in each direction), Cinema, Main Square, public transportation (one tip: there is a bus that goes to Lake Louise, bus stop located 300 metres from the hotel), etc.
The hotel has implemented measures during this Pandemic. Hand sanitizers in the Lobby and elevators, nice pool, 2 hot tubs (limited quantity of people), gym, 2 restaurants , we tried the lobby bar next to La Terrazza restaurant, it offers the same menu and more if you don't want a formal dining. Once we tried room service and it was perfect.
The staff and guests have to use masks in the premises and it is mandatory in downtown Banff to wear them.
The staff is very attentive, all of them, and they provide promptly whatever you need, towels, garbage bags, amenities, coffee, etc.
The rooms are spacious, with safe and a good size closet , plenty of space in drawers, very important for a long stay, and a very convenient extra sink outside the bathroom , a little refrigerator to put your food and beverages, coffeemaker and we had also an electric kettle.
Some rooms have great views to the mountains.
The underground parking is very convenient and spacious, for a fee of 12 dollars per night.
The beds were comfortable. We had a Superior Double Queen room with view.

I had the opportunity to stay 2 times at the Banff Park Lodge while passing through.
My first time I was in a king bed room on the main level that was wheelchair accessible.
It is a great room the only negative about it is that the floor gets very wet and slippery after a shower so be very careful walking out of the shower.
On my first trip, I ate the restaurant for breakfast. The service was good and so is the view but unfortunately, that is it. The prices are quite high and when I got my meal the portions were very small and unsatisfying that I actually went out and had a second breakfast that was cheaper and much better in quality and quantity.

The 2nd trip the room was also a King bed but on the 3rd Floor and much better than the one on the ground floor.

On both trips, I highly praise the staff for their friendliness and check in/out services, the underground parking which there is a fee but it makes it worth paying for as your vehicle is secure. What I like is that there is additional lighting that is activated by a sensor when walking in the parkade.

The Lodge is conveniently located minutes from downtown, gas stations, attractions and the walking trails behind the hotel, great for running and wildlife viewing.
The rooms are also very clean, probably the best I have seen in hotels in a long time.

The Price is still a bit high given the state of the economy right now but at least their cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to arrival. To be honest, I stayed here to try it because of the price drop from their "normal" Pre-Covid19 prices.
I only gave this review 4/5 dots based on the food and prices in the restaurant.

Me and my husband stayed in this hotel for two nights the price was good the location is close to the main street where all restaurants and coffee shops but there was constructions in front of the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable and because of covid-19 the hotel staff wont enter to the room but when we needed help they responded right a way ( to dry the washroom and changing towels) . The help desk also were very helpful and fast in check in and out . The concierge guy was also very helpful he helped us planing the rest of our trip. The only thing I didn't like about this hotel is the parking and wifi are not free

We were overwhelmed with the size of the room and the room service. I have been coming to this Conference at this time of the year for the past 13 years here and my rooms were always nice but this year I came with 3 other ladies and it was over the top this year, with a double room, 2 bathrooms, jetted tub in one and shower with 5 different shower heads, front and back, microwave, coffee pot, fridge, safe, kettle, coach, 2 double beds, 2 patios.....close to the front to all amenities, swimming pool, hot tubs and eucalyptus steam room and the list goes on......thank you Banff Park Lodge for the stay!

We always stay at this hotel, whether it is a romantic getaway for my husband and myself or whether we bring the whole family. The location is excellent, right off the main street in Banff where all the action is. This way you also have parking right in the middle of Banff. The hotel restaurants are also great, and we like the pool and small fitness area. There is a limit on people in the pool/fitness area now, but that is to be expected with the pandemic (and we appreciate the safety). The hotel and rooms are always impeccably clean, and we feel really good about the extra sanitizing they are doing now. We find the beds comfy and temperature control excellent. Someone complained here that the fridge wasn't cold enough, but the fridges have a temperature control on the back you can adjust. (Just ask the front desk for anything that isn't perfect and they can generally help.) The rooms are really large; we have had our family of 5 stay there comfortably with a rollaway bed in the past. We've also rented in the past a room with a jacuzzi in the middle of it--it was really fabulous. And all the staff is always great. This last time we stayed I forgot a ring that had big sentimental value to me in the room. I called, and Colleen from Housekeeping went to a huge extra effort to search for the ring, got back to me, and arranged to have it sent UPS to me. Thank you Colleen! I really appreciate it; you are wonderful!

I booked this hotel without really knowing how close it is to everything in the town. Right across the street is the main shopping and dining district. There's several places to eat within minimal walking distance, plenty of shops and the hotel is easy to get to. As some reviews say there is an extra charge for parking and wifi which is a bit inconvenient. The rooms were nice, some of the decor is a little outdated but not something that would really impact my stay. I loved the jacuzzi tub and the beautiful view of the Cascade mountain. Room for improvement though. I would have liked some complimentary water bottles in the mini fridge as most hotels do this for less. I was a bit disappointed in the multi directional shower, the instructions left in the room where for a different shower type. I was unable to get all shower heads working at the same time, and the main one could have used some de-scaling as a stream of water filled the soap nook and I wasn't able to use it unless I scooped the water out every 2 minutes. Temperature control was a bit touchy, and the room either got way too hot or too cold. So aside from a little maintenance needed, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would likely stay here again.

I've stayed at the Banff Park Lodge many times since the 1990s and have always been impressed by its cleanliness, service, restaurant and other amenities. In recent years, my wife and I have also stayed in other nearby hotels, but the BPL is always a notch or two above the competition. We'll definitely be returning.

We have stayed in many Banff hotels but keep coming back to this one. The lobby with the fireplace is very welcoming. Staff are consistently helpful. Rooms are spacious and the extra sink outside the bathroom really speeds up getting out the door in the morning. Heated underground parking means you don't have to haul your ski boots to the room. Location is perfect for getting to the river, outdoor public skating and restaurants. Pool was closed due to COVID but one could reserve the hot tub.

We have stayed at the BPL many times over the years, but this year we found the summer rates very reasonable due to the Covid travel restrictions. We have always found the hotel to be clean, well managed and in an excellent location. Close to downtown amenities and very close to the bike paths. With the Bow Valley Parkway closed to traffic, the bike ride is very enjoyable. At this hotel, perhaps the greatest attribute is the staff; who are friendly, warm and accommodating. We got to check in early (just after noon) and had storage for our bicycles. We also tried the prime rib special on Friday night-great!
