Stayed 4 night so Detailed review ahead :) This is the place to be if you are coming solo or with a friend without a car and not looking to spend an arm and leg but yet get the comfort and satisfaction. The location is right across of all the buses and shuttles that take you to the the most important locations in Banff. I literally went down 2 mins before the shuttle to lake Luis arrived and still made it. all I had to do was cross the street from my hotel to that bus stop and voila! It’s also right in the heart of the town where all the fun happens. Surrounded by Shops , restaurants even an IGA only 5 mins walk in case of anything you need at time of the day. They also have a vending machine in the lobby. The view from my room was gorgeous from my hotel room window. I did not hear any noise as the windows isolate the sound fairly. However ear plugs are provided if need be. I also chose this hotel as I found a lay out that fits my trip. It’s a loft room which has a small size Living room with sofa and dining table and a large tv in the first floor then you go up the stairs and find your bed. It gives you space if you are staying with other people so you are not in each others faces even when you want to change or rest for a bit. Also the space is nice as you get to hang out in a place other than your bedroom especially when you want to eat on the dining table and drink coffee in the morning. They include an Nespresso machine with coffee pods including decaf. The bathroom is also in the first floor so if you are traveling with someone you won’t be woken up at night if they use the bathroom. My only wish is the bathroom had a ventilation fan as it does get steamy after showers and it stays that way for sometime. But if you open the living room window and the room down for a bit the steam come out. The shampoo and shower gels are great made with all natural ingredients. Bed was so comfortable and the pillows are so fluffy. The closer is decent size with hangers and even includes an iron with it’s table which is a great add. There’s a cupboard with drawers as well so you get to unpack your stuff nicely and not have to dress out of your suit case. I’ll give the staff 5/5. I stayed for 4 nights and the front desk night and morning shift are professionals and helpful. You can ask anything and they will help you with it with a smile on their faces. They really made my trip easier. I highly recommend and will be back for sure

My friend and I spent 2 nights at the Elk and Avenue hotel in Banff (July 2-4).
Overall our experience was great! There was some minimal cleanliness issues (dusty fan, shorts found under the side table) nothing that we felt warranted complaint as we used the room mostly for sleeping and showering and those amenities were clean!
Location was incredible - just a crosswalk away from the main shopping street. Parking was underground and secure.
We booked directly through the hotel site and had received 2 free drink vouchers for the attached restaurant and bar (Farm and Fire). The drinks and food were AMAZING.
The rooms have been updated and modernized, bathroom was beautiful.
With COVID happening they have hand sanitizer at the front door, will not clean your room unless otherwise requested and have contactless check out.
Would definitely stay again!

We picked this hotel mainly because it is attached to Farm & Fire, which is one of our favourite places to eat in Banff, but it ended up being a great deal for the price. Since they are a part of the Banff Jasper Collection by Pursuit, we were able to bundle our gondola tickets and our hotel stay together for a fair price.
The location is also great - steps from the grocery store and the main strip. I know that someone posted a review saying that they only give you 2 cups in the bathroom and 2 cups for coffee and they don't come and replace them. That amount of cups is standard for most hotels, and if that guest had read the pamphlet that was given at check-in, they would have known that they only replace items upon request due to COVID restrictions to reduce the amount of times someone has to enter the room. A reasonable request to ensure the guest safety.
One night my 4 year old was getting antsy because we were couped up in the room, so I called the front desk and asked for colouring sheets from the restaurant. Matthew went above and beyond and printed her 10 new sheets, all with different images on them (the restaurant only had one kind!) She was so happy and I was super grateful. He also came with an extra pillow/blanket, fresh cups and towels (all you gotta do is ask, people!)
Would definitely stay here again. Hopefully when the hot tub can be open to the public.

Advantages: Best location (Near to all restaurants) Clean rooms Friendly staff Best on site restaurant
Disadvantages: Free parking on first come first basis so if you come after 6PM you won’t get parking. Max size which can go in underground parking is Suv. No trucks or bigger vehicles Said 2 queen beds in room but were double beds Pillows were very hard No microwave in room and fridge was too small No exhaust fan in bathroom No hangers in cupboard to hang clothes

Excellent location -can walk everywhere. This hotel provided some nice perks for booking directly with them. We received one adult certificate to take the gondola (worth $50), free breakfast, and two nice glasses of wine. The bed was very plush and comfortable, soft towels and bedding, mini fridge (was a bit noisy) and a nespresso machine with 4 pods. No cream or sugar or bottled water. I will stay here again for sure.

Elk and Avenue is a really convenient hotel, about 5 minutes walk from Banff centre and with a large supermarket just around the corner. I stayed in a large, single room with a great view of Mt Rundle. The ski bus stops next door; the basement ski lockers are safe and secure; and you can get your lift pass delivered to the hotel, so this hotel is a great choice if you are skiing. The adjacent adventure centre can book tours for you, and there is a nice coffee shop. The restaurant was closed when I was there but there was an alternative buffet breakfast which for ten dollars was really good. All the staff I dealt with were really helpful. The hotel also responded to emails I sent before my trip which was much appreciated by me, as I needed to amend my visit dates.

Banff is one of my favourite places and should season (after the summer crowds go and the skiing crowd comes) is no exception! Finding a great hotel deal at a nice hotel like Elk & Avenue is a nice bonus! Perfectly located on Banff Ave, and just on the outskirt of the super busy hub makes this the best location, in my opinion.
Front desk staff were very lovely and responsive. We were allowed to park in the hotel before check-in without issue. Housekeeping seemed to do an excellent job of preparing the room for arrival as everything was spotless. Covid protocols meant that there would be no daily entry to the room by housekeeping, unless specifically requested. Lots of hand sani everywhere, lots of signage and we felt very comfortable with all of the steps that Elk & Avenue is taking to help prevent the spread.
My one negative is the beds ... they probably work for many people, so it's a personal comment ... they are too soft and my back hurt from them. I'm sure if you like a soft bed, you will LOVE these ... the linens are so comfortable and the pillows were plentiful! :D

The staff are very friendly and helpful, our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The attached Farm and Fire restaurant is nicely appointed and the food is exceptional. We appreciated the attention by the hotel (lots of signage and hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere throughout the hotel) as well as the staff in their support of COVID-19 guidelines to protect the health of everyone in their hotel. Our only issue was the annoying vibrating noise from the air conditioner when it clicked on at night since it was loud enough to interrupt our sleep.

Stayed 2 nights, enjoyed it a lot. Great location right in the centre of town, short walk to all the shops, restaurants. Clean rooms, very reasonable price. Good protocols in place for covid-19. Got a free gondola ticket to sulphur mountain, unexpected bonus. Free breakfast at the restaurant was very good, tables were well spaced out even during the busy hours. The tables that are close together are divided with plexi glass. Overall, an excelent stay.

Stayed in the spacious loft room for 3 nights. So close to main shopping/ dining area of banff. Trendy lobby and restaurant, with nice small patio (try the solstice cocktail, so good!) The only issue we had was sheets that clearly hadn't been changed on the pull out bed, there were chip crumbs on it, which while staff did provide new sheets right away when I reported, does not install confidence as to how well the entire room may have been cleaned/ sanitized. There is a notice posted and they added a small extra charge for the extra cleaning they are supposed to be doing. Aside from that we really enjoyed our stay and I would probably stay here again.
