We stayed for five nights and we found our very large room to be perfectly equipped, with a safe, a fridge, tea making equipment, wifi, a very large bath tub, a shower and even a desk. It was also commendably quiet. There is no grand entrance, but the service is good and the breakfast is varied and substantial. We had a hire car, so the free underground parking was very useful.

We had a great stay at New Kings, which is conveniently located in central Sea Point. The location is perfect and our double room had a lovely sea view. The room was really spacious, very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. It came with a tea/coffee station fridge (with bottled water) and a microwave.
There was a separate toilet room and a very roomy shower area with fluffy white towels and dressing gowns.
Our highlight were the very friendly team who were always smiling and available to help. They provided extras that we needed in our room, as well as helping to print out documents we needed for travel.
The neighbourhood can be a little noisy, but that's to be expected if you want to be close to lots of lovely restaurants, markets, bars etc. I think the hotel has done a very good job of sound proofing and even as a light sleeper, I didn't have any problems getting a good night's rest.

It was my Husbands 40th Birthday and everyone at the hotel went out of their way to make it extra special for us, even the cleaners congratulated him . The room was decorated with roses and birthday cup cakes it was so special. The Zest restaurant was also absolutely out of this world, the food was fantastic and so fresh. Newkings is attractively priced in a central female friendly communityand provided all the basic necessities. Each room has its own unique view I would easily pay more to wake up seeing.
I opted for having meal outside so except for one meal, I am not able to say much on the quality of the meals. My lunch of salmon and bak choy while watching the waves crashing for me was excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week here over New Year. The room was very comfortable with a superb view of the Lion's Head, breakfasts were ample and varied - what a range of fruit! - and the reception & other staff members were always happy to help. We especially liked having a leisurely breakfast on the balcony, watching the antics of the cheeky seagulls, redwinged starlings & wagtails, who would all have liked to share!
The location's great: close to the sea, to numerous restaurants & cafes, and to several My-Citi bus lines. Highly recommended & good value for money.

This hotel is located in an excellent position in Seapoint within walking distance of the seafront and a short bus ride to the V&A waterfront. The rooms were large, spacious and well equiped with lovely views of Lion’s Head.
There is a good restaurant as well as a shopping centre literally under the hotel.
Cleaning was very good and efficient and essential services maintained during load shedding

My stay at the Newkings Boutique Hotel was indeed a memorable one. the location is perfect to the sites and the beaches and shops and I loved the appearance of the Hotel. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly. The Zest Restaurant is very affordable and the food is excellent - such a vibey atmosphere especially in the evenings.

Perfect location. Close to myCiti bus stops. Rooms very spacious. Lovely large bathroom. Above a shopping center with a Woolworths food. Breakfast basic but not bad. Free parking. Whole experience value for money.
Negatives: reception tacky, housekeeping team needs serious attention in terms of service and training. Some staff unfriendly and unprofessional. Not enough towels in room, even after asking. Cot not in room, even after pre arranging. Tabels at breakfast were not fully set, some in need of spoons, cups etc. I had sent emails asking questions about transport etc and never received replies.

My wife and I stayed here during February and were delighted with the location, accommodation and local facilities.
We mixed business with pleasure during this short break, using the local city tours bus to show us around all of the local tourist spots, the stop is just around the corner.
The hotel is also based with in a small shopping centre and a high street full of great bars and restaurants.

The Zest re stay attached to the hotel was extremely good and we enjoyed breakfast and dinner there during our trip.

i arrived on Tuesday the 23rd of May and booked in as normal. after a long day i wanted to take a shower and there was no water, when i contacted reception I was told "oh yes the plumbers are busy with maintenance on the geysers". my response was that surely one should have been told that there will be an interruption in water as they are busy with maintenance. water only came on at 20:30, and could take a shower at21:00. the next morning water was cold again, so could not take a shower to begin my day.

We were not informed from the plumber that this fitting would interfere with the hot water supply. The hotel has installed solonoi on all geysers to manage the supply and retention of hot water in our geysers even during load shedding. Our project manager did speak to you to explain and apologize that same evening. There are two ways of getting from the airport to the hotel.
1] The easiest is to book a shuttle which will transport you direct from the airport to the hotel, certainly the easiest and most convenient especially after a long flight and is you have baggage, or
2] One can take a bus will will bring you to the foreshore and then a taxi to the hotel, which entails a certain amount of handling ones bags.
