Its located in one of the most convenient locations. Its just a couple blocks away from the airport. It felt good to just come right off the plane and be in a room relaxing within minutes. What was surprising is the fact that although they are so close to the hotel they offere a shuttle service. So in a nut shell I got to stay at a convenient location, a clean room, shuttle service and also car rental service is optional at an affordable rate. When I checked they were the most affordable.

My husband and I just returned from a 4 night stay at Providenciales Airport hotel. The trip was planned very last minute, and we had almost no other choice but to stay at this hotel. Overall our trip was good, but here are the pros and cons that one should be aware of before you book at this hotel, so that you can make a conscious choice.

Pros:
1) Price & Availability: The Turks and Caicos islands are very expensive - resorts along the Grace Bay beach are super expensive, especially in peak season, ranging upwards of $400 a night, if available. The airport hotel typically always has rooms available, and you can get it for ~$150 a night.
2) Friendly staff: The whole staff is pretty much one big family, and is very friendly and courteous
3) Free Shuttle to/from the Airport and Beach: We had booked a rental car with Budget (and received a confirmation) before we arrived, knowing that the hotel is far from the beach (~15 mins drive). However, Budget messed up big time, and had no car available (nor any record of our reservation) for us when we arrived at the airport (and did not bother to follow up or communicate with us when we tried to sort out the issue). Being peak season, it was just impossible to get another rental at the last minute. Also taxis are super expensive, charging a min of $15-20 per person each way. Luckily, the hotel offered free drops to the beach whenever we needed it, and also picked us up from there at the end of the day (we tipped $5 each way).
4) Basic Room & Facilities: The room and services are just about average and meet basic needs if you do not expect luxury. Internet is included but speed is just about sufficient for basic browsing and does not support streaming (e.g. You tube)

Now the Cons (Purely based on our experience):
1) The bathtub takes a while to drain - so be prepared to stand in accumulated water while you are showering...
2) Continental breakfast was supposed to be included in our price - but their on site restaurant was closed while we were there - so we were unable to avail this benefit
3) Bed sheet had a bloodstain on it (as pointed out also by another reviewer)
4) Our room was not serviced (no housekeeping done) one day - however this was taken care of the next 2 days
5) Toiletries: Only thing available is a bar of soap - so please carry your own shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, and anything else you may need for the trip (or purchase it from the grocery store there)
6) One night there was loud music for several hours late into the night - not sure where it was coming from - but it was pretty disturbing when I was trying to sleep.
7) The room has windows that are closed shut with curtains drawn at all times - so can feel pretty claustrophobic
8) There is a small refrigerator in the room (no microwave). We placed milk that lasted for one night. However it curdled the next night - maybe the housekeeping staff shut it off when they serviced the room?. Basically - please make sure it is on and working before relying on it for your food/drinks.

Also, please be aware that the hotel has no swimming pool or gym.

The Grace Bay beach itself is awesome, and my husband and I had 3 fun days on the beach.

This is your typical hotel that needs updating but you just somehow know they don't ever plan to. I've stayed here multiple times and each time just seems to be worse. Dirty bathrooms, dead cockroaches and poor customer service. Don't bother complaining- they will tell you they're going to fix or address your complaint..... They NEVER do! Feel free to book and test my theory.

We decided to book this hotel in spite of the bad reviews because we needed a place for just one night with an early flight the next morning. But we did wrong. The shuttle didn't show up at the airport to pick us up. Our room was not ready (at 7pm) and we have to wait. When we finally entered the room we found out that there was just one light working. Worst thing the bathroom was in total darkness. So we decided to go to eat while waiting for someone to fix up the lights. Restaurant was closed. The person at the front desk indicated us some other restaurants in the area, but they were closed or out of food or simply ugly. So we bought chips and beer at the minimarket. The room was smelling bad. The floor and the bathroom dirty. The shower curtain had mold on it. The linen had holes and the air conditioning was incredibly noisy. In the morning the man at the reception ask us if we wanted a lift to the airport. So we discovered that the shuttle was a car falling apart.

I travel to Turks with with a group of professionals who come 1-2 times a year, and crime on the island is on the rise. The week of January 9, 2017 at 3am four armed locals broke into our home, beat up the Canadian staying there, and robbed him. The police didn't care at all. Another person had $3000 in cash stolen from their checked luggage at the airport while the TSA were searching him. And other people are being robbed on the street. Crime has always been around, but lately it has gotten much worse. Until the government and police step up to protect tourists, I wouldn't recommend traveling outside of the resorts.

Let me preface this by saying the staff could not be more friendly. They did their utmost to make us comfortable. HOWEVER, the hotel is horrible. I fully expected to see a crime scene body outline in the room. The room was quite dated with holes in the dirty sheets, a poor excuse for an air conditioner, broken shades with sheer curtains, and a horrible bathroom. There was one office chair and one tiny lamp. The overhead light had only 2 of 3 lights working. Avoid this place at all cost. I've stayed in some poor hotels before, but this is at the bottom of them all.

We needed to overnight between our evening flight from Grand Turk and our early morning flight to Miami. The travel agent who booked us into this place (she's history!) had us pre-paid, and we were to be met by the hotel van. The van wasn't there. At the hotel, the desk clerk claimed we weren't pre-paid, but he finally relented. Under (under!) the bed's top sheet -- next to your skin -- was a ratty blanket. We threw it on the floor. But worst: we told the desk clerk three times that we needed the van to get us to the airport by 6:30am and were told, "no problem." Come the morning, my wife & I discovered the tub didn't drain, so we had to wash while standing in rising grey water. When we went to the lobby at 6:10, nobody was there. Nobody was manning the desk, either. To cut to the chase, we went out to the street (at 6:30 on a Saturday morning when there was hardly any traffic) and were able to flag down a cab. My wife and I agreed it would have been better if we had slept at the airport. If the airport closes for the night and you can't sleep there, the next-best thing to do would be to rent a car and sleep in it.

Not recommend for any stay.

Based on two days experience there were plenty cockroaches on the tables and all over my room. No basic amenities such as laundry for a business traveler.

Upon complain about the cockroaches I was transferred to another room without WIFI.

Then I had to carry all my stuff from room to room all over the night.

I requested to clean the previous room and transfer back because I need the internet. However, again there were plenty cockroaches all over my table and clothes when I got up in the morning.

If you want to pay and sleep with the cockroaches this is the best hotel.

My spouse and I were travelling in the Turks and Caicos and required an overnight layover in Providenciales to catch a connecting flight. We needed a relatively inexpensive overnight stay which is why we chose to use an online booking service (Booking.com).

The Turks and Caicos Airport Hotel showed multiple available rooms. We booked at the rate of US$149+taxes.

Upon arrival at the hotel from the airport, we were told that they were overbooked (!). We were told a room at the Sibonne Beach Hotel was put aside for us and they would provide a van transfer. Weary and having just arrived by plane, we agreed, assuming that all was already arranged.

However upon arrival at the Sibonne (and departure of the van of course), we learn that the reception didn't have our information. Worse, they would charge us US$240! They would not honor the booking agreed upon with the Turks and Caicos Airport Hotel online. Although the Sibonne Beach Hotel is nice, it is far more expensive than planned and a 30 minute taxi from our original location. Now at a clear disadvantage, we had no choice but to accept and pay more (US$240+taxes+US$28 taxi back to the airport the next morning).

I think this is a totally unacceptable business practice that preys upon travellers. The Turks and Caicos Airport Hotel intentionnally overbooked rooms. By luring travellers with low rates, they then transfer them to another more expensive hotel (in collusion perhaps?).

Buyer beware!

Our room said it came with a fridge and it didn't. Our shower didn't have any trouble draining, but the room is very dark due to the lack of windows (the only window to the outside was in the shower oddly enough). The free shuttle service isn't always available and never picks you up on time. They made me feel like I was annoying them whenever I asked for a ride. A lot of places that say they offer free shuttle service to their events will not pick you up from this hotel because it is too far away. Not to mention, the hotel is very far away from everything and it's in the middle of a very poor area. I wouldn't even consider walking anywhere. The beds are as hard as rocks and the pillows are also extremely flat and uncomfortable. The free breakfast consists of cereal with gross tasting milk. I would've just gone to another hotel but they would only give us 50% of what we owed back. I would NEVER consider coming back here. Don't waste your money. Spend a little extra money and stay the night somewhere decent.
