We recently stayed at WJL for a few weeks in a 3 bedroom villa up on the hillside with gorgeous unobstructed views of the Labrolette Bay below, the city of Castries to the south and the resort point to the north. This is a beautiful place to watch daily the huge cruise ships go in and out of Castries. The resort caters to your every need. There are plenty of watersports, including snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing, and so on. Plenty of excursions start and finish right here in the bay at the WJL resort including dive boats (there is a PADI certified site), fishing boats, sunset sails, daily sails, and tour boats.. a bit of something for everyone. There is also a spa, which we haven’t tried, and tennis courts, and a well equipped fitness center. The resort does have an all inclusive plan, but that is an option, not mandatory. There are five restaurants on site, from beach and/or bar food to carribean fare, Italian, and fine dining. There are no fine dining dress requirements, other than the typical no bathing suits, no shoes restrictions. We prefer a casual lifestyle and like comfortable or resort wear, while others may prefer dressing up. Typically there is daily music entertainment, and so many activities for the young kids and teens alike, both on the beach, and the separate play areas.
Don’t let the steep hillsides where most of the units are located concern you. They have a complimentary shuttle service to take you up and down as often as you like. It runs all the time and is so very convenient.
If you prefer to stay in and cook for yourself and family, then that option is available as most units have convenient kitchens with stainless steel appliances, and all the cutlery, small typical kitchen appliances, and place set ups that you will need. In addition, there is a very convenient mimi-mart on site that has most necessary items available for purchase, both food stock and drinks, and things like bug spray, detergent, etc. The units are nicely equipped with tv’s in the bedrooms and living areas, spacious dinette areas, ample decks, with those amazing views, and many with private/individual plunge pools, infinity pools, or hot tubs, and all with deck furniture. The bedrooms typically have their own ensuite baths, with plenty of towels, soaps, etc. and either nice stand up showers or tubs. Many of the units, but not all, also have a washer and dryer.
Most of all, the staff, the welcome group, the housekeeping staff…. All make us feel so very welcome and are there at every request. You can just feel that their only goal is to make us feel comfortable and at home. We feel totally at home here and look forward to returning soon!

My husband surprised me with a trip to St Lucia and right up 'til the last minute I had no idea where I was going and let me tell you I wasn't let down! WindJammer Landing is quite simply, Paradise. We visited in January so it wasn't overcrowded... enough people to make friends. It's not five star luxury but definitely five star service. Our accommodation was extremely comfortable and the bed divine. Room maids are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Most accommodation is on a hill but there are frequent complimentary buses with very friendly drivers to take you up and down the hills. Your every whim is catered to at Windjammer. Adoniah at the water sports centre and him team are on hand offering a first class service. Put this hotel on your bucket list :-)

I have visited Windjammer before and always been very impressed and this trip is no exception. Wanted to review again to provide specific information for anyone travelling who has concerns about COVID. St Lucia as an island has done very well keeping numbers low and guests need to regularly check the St Lucia website for changes to travel requirements (paperwork and testing etc).
Windjammer is a COVID certified hotel so tourists can stay here to ‘quarantine’ for 14 days, only leaving resort for certain excursions and restaurants. Check in was smooth with a temperature reader in reception and we were quickly given our room keys. Our villa up on the hillside was in the Estate Villa section with a fantastic view and pool, deck and was really spacious. The COVID safety measures are evident throughout the resort with hand wash stations, sanitiser points and temperature checks before every meal. Masks need to be worn on the shuttles and guests are given hand sanitiser before every journey. Masks need to be worn in the shops and in fact it is encouraged in all public spaces but not required on the beach when sunbathing or when seated at a table. Staff wear masks all the time and there are Perspex screens at Reception / excursions / jammers bar. There is a new resort app with activities / menus / spa details and a very handy whatsapp number to text a Helpdesk for any queries. Housekeeping is available x3 per week but optional for anyone who prefers less contact. Beach Loungers are sanitised each day. Slots need to be booked for the gym to ensure correct numbers. Excursions available are changing but we had a big choice including snuba / sea trek / mud baths and volcano / fishing / boat trips / zip lining and aerial rainforest tram (we did this last one and loved it). These all need to be arranged by the resort. The mini supermarket has essentials for your villa or they are happy to order more supplies in from local supermarket for you (can’t leave resort freely to shop) and also happy to arrange taxis to covid certified restaurants or arrange delivery in.
Food is still amazing at all 5 restaurants that are all open, views from all the villas are still incredible and sun sets unbelievable (the higher up you go on the hillside the better the view!) We have felt reassured by all the safety measures being followed here whilst still being able to totally relax on holiday and not found the rules intrusive at all. The staff really go the extra mile and can’t do enough for you - I still highly recommend Windjammer for a safe place to relax in these strange times and I can’t wait to return 🥰

Everything here requires unnecessary effort with a somewhat mixed payoff.

The saving grace of this hotel is that the staff are uniformly INCREDIBLE and the food is very good. Occasionally the quality is slightly off, but the portion sizes are uniformly generous.

As for a general review, this place is seriously outdated. From room decor to the broken mosquito proofing. Phones in the room don’t work and never got fixed after 5 days of asking (a safety risk, if not an inconvenience) WiFi is non existent except for the beach. Checkin took an hour. Then waiting on the beach for an hour. Then another hour..... tedious.

Mosquito fogging also commenced (from calculation every other day but at random times). The permethrin concentration was far in excess of recommended levels as it induced quite shocking respiratory issues.

We had to unblock the sink in our room ourselves (on arriving) as maintenance never came when requested and our phone was broken for follow up).

The variety of activities was hugely impressive and there is something for everyone if you are willing to put up with a few inconveniences. It’s is especially suitable for families.

What is it about Windjammer that works so well? It is just simply a great relaxing, safe environment for all the family. If you have sporty children who love water sports there really isn’t a better place in the Caribbean. Huge shout out to all the waters ports staff who are really fun, but also very professional. Howard taught me to to sail a Hobie Cat, then I received daily encouragement from Gordon, Dwight, Anthony, Denver, Jameson and Shurandi. Jameson and Denver were incredibly patient waterskiing instructors and taught my daughters to wakeboard and monoski.

The all-inclusive option is pretty good value for money considering Christmas and New Year is so expensive. The quality of a la carte meals is very high, our favourites being Jammers, Papa Dons and Upper Deck, however the service in Upper Deck this year was a bit too slow despite the valiant efforts of Miguel who was training and made such a great effort and he was incredible to the whole family.

There are lots of comments about the staff. The mast majority are brilliant and very warm, however there are some who possibly trade off the overall reputation and need to be more consistent in their service.

We stayed in a two bedroom, two bathroom duplex which had a balcony and a roof terrace. This worked really well for us. My only gripe is that the sheets are not of the calibre you might expect in more 5 star hotels.

Overall, having stayed twice, we would thoroughly recommend this resort for families looking for a safe, fun and relaxing holiday. New Year’s Eve was incredibly fun and the firework display was magnificent as it was last year. This is why families return year after year!

This is a really beautiful private resort just north of Castries, with the most amazing views of the bay. It's worth staying in the villas up the side of the hill (having read the reviews I was convinced I wouldn’t use the shuttle bus... but oh yes you will need it! So steep!!) get a room with a balcony just for the sunsets - amazing.

We ate at all the restaurants - Upper Deck and Jammers were great for dinner, Embers for lunch (but get there early or else it gets busy). Papa dons and Dragonfly ok, but not worth revisiting in the time we were there. I’d recommend the all inclusive package, wine selection was nice and huge cocktail menu. The buffet breakfast was plentiful but service was chaotic - we ended up paying the $7USD tray charge to have breakfast delivered to our balcony every morning :)

Beach was lovely and sandy and they have a token system so you can get fresh towels whenever you want. Need to get down early to get the best spots, there are a lot of regulars/residents who nab them first! The all inclusive package included all the (non motorised) water sports which was fun. Also the bay included some inflatable slides, water trampoline and floats which kept us entertained!

Overall a very welcoming hotel with gorgeous views. Get a balcony!

This may just be the best all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean. From the grounds, to the scenery, accommodations, food and included water sports, it was just excellent. Our hillside villa was private, spacious, comfortable and had one of the best views of the island. We could see the beach, sunsets and even the cruise ships docked in Castries. The staff was pleasant including, Kheri and Mandel (bartenders), Gilbert and Anthony (shuttle drivers) and the numerous waitstaff at all the restaurants. The entire staff was kind, polite and made sure to remember who we were every time we strolled by. The drinks were strong and the food was very good. While I would not call it 5 star dinning, it was the best food at an all inclusive we have experienced. So to say I was pleasantly surprised with the food would be an understatement. The one down side to the meals was there is only 5 restaurants to choose from, another one or two would have been just right. Traveling with two teenage boys can certainly be difficult, but they were never bored and enjoyed all the activities the resort had to offer. While being 90 mins from the airport, the drive is well worth it. You get to see lots of the island and the sunsets and location to all the attractions on the western side make you forget you even had a transfer. The diversity of the travelers also made it a pleasant experience, lots of conversations with Europeans, Canadians and folks from all over the U.S. We will be back

We (2 couples) stayed at the Windjammer in February from the 21st until the 28th. The resort is beautiful. We were in a villa that had more than enough room for us all. The villa was very clean and had all the conveniences of home. The view was a picture no artist could paint.

The beach was spectacular. Clean and comfortable. There was a large area that is roped off where you could swim without any rocks in the water. The parts that were not roped off had small to large rocks where caution was needed.

The restaurants were good. There are 3 restaurants for dinner, 2 were open every other night and one was open every night. Jammers was open every night and had a good variety. The Upper Deck was ok, only 1/2 of their menu was on the all-inclusive plan and that limited what you could order unless you wanted to pay a surcharge. Papa Dons was the other restaurant and it was our favorite.

Our spa experience was delightful, however, they add gratuity to your bill that we were not aware of.

All of the staff at the Windjammer were more than excellent (except for 1 bartender who was not friendly). The staff really, really made our experience very enjoyable.

Unfortunately for the resort, covid is still a world wide issue, therefore it was not busy at all. That was good for the very relaxed, feel good vibe we got to experience.

Overall, no complaints on our end, only compliments to the Windjammer Team.

Stayed here in March 2021 for a week in a 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom villa with private pool. The accomodations were awesome. The villa was well appointed and modern with spacious rooms. There was plenty of space for our party of 3. The best feature was the private pool which we used every day. Covid safety regulations were adhered to by the resort. Staff wore masks and hand sanitizer was always available. The restaurants on the property even had hand washing stations which was a nice added touch and made me feel safe. It was like being in a safety bubble with all of the safety precautions put in place by the resort. The villa style accomodations were great for social distancing and added privacy. Covid testing was provided onsite which provided peace of mind. There were daily activities and entertainment available. We did a paint and sip as well as the sunset cruise. The staff was great. Everyone was super friendly and heplful. Kizzy and Essie were 2 stand out staff members who really made our stay great. I would definitely recomend Windjammer Landing Villa Beach resort and I can't wait for my next stay.

Recently Jan 2020 stayed at Windjammer after a friend recommended it.The place was even better then he said.Arrived in the dark and shown to our room ( A free upgrade) to be shown around, lovely lounge and dining area with good kitchen of it.Downstairs a good en-suite bedroom. Then back upstairs to be told hot tub on roof terrace via a large covered veranda .
Up in morning to small views from bedroom to the sea, then upstairs to great views from veranda.I think there really is a view of the sea from every room.To get the views you are located up the side of a sometimes steep hill which is good for burning of all the food you will eat (We were all inclusive)However, there is a very efficient shuttle service up and down from reception.
Food was very good starting with a fantastic breakfast in a lovely setting by the beach. Our favourite restaurant was jammers,no need to book with a good menu and excellent service, again overlooking the beach. There is also a good snack cafe for lunch and 3 other restaurants for your evening meals.
The beach is well maintained with never a shortage of loungers and a efficient beach towel service,a great wooden boardwalk to lounge on and walk along to the beach sports area for your kayak etc.
The whole complex most of buildings are painted white and they all looked well looked after,we had a light out in room up on terrace and it was speedily fixed.
There is 1 main and children’s pool down by beach with a couple of smaller ones up the hill by Papa Dons Italian Restaurant, again never that busy. This is partly due to some of the guests/timeshare owners having their own pools.Made for a very relaxing holiday.

Every day at 5 00 pm into hot tub to watch sunset-what a lovely spot.

The Villas had "plunge pools". Ours was about 6 feet wide and was 4 feet deep. It was just at the end of the veranda, but they did have a gate that could be put up to keep kids out. It was not covered, but the Villas are positioned so that you can't really see any part of someone else's pool.

Yes. I agree they are hard to get ahold of. Try phoning the toll free number and ask for reservations. You can get that toll free number from their website. And tell them how hard it is to get a response.
