I've been to this beach as many as 4 times in one year, have stayed all along the seven mile beach. I keep returning to this property.
The prices are right. We are not high maintenance travelers, eat at the roadside jerk chicken stands, and really enjoy the time here. Rooms are clean. The staff is great. i can even name them....
If you are looking for luxury, try beaches.
The inclusives are golrified prisons if you ask me.

Wonderful, Wonderful experience. If you're planning on a 5-star hotel with all the comforts of home. Don't go to Jamacia at all. You have to realize that Jamacia is actually a very poor country. Jamacians don't rush for anything, and why should they? They enjoy life! It's a different way of life. I went with some friends who go every year (this was my first) and had a splendid time. Beautiful sunsets, great food and drinks. I went for the relaxation and wonderful time with friends. The Beach Club is within walking distance to many nightclubs (live music on the beach every night), delicious eateries. We walked into town for shopping. You want to go eat lunch before you're starving, the food is made from scratch and takes time, just enjoy life while you're there. Americans are so hurried all the time that we don't enjoy life as it should be enjoyed. The rooms were okay, you're not in the States, the room was cleaned everyday, some days earlier than others, there was a coffeepot, utinsils, outlets and sometimes hotwater for a shower (it's so hot there, a cool shower was refreashing), but you don't go for the room, you go to Jamacia for the beachfront, food and entertainment. The hotel has security, they offer day trips to different falls. Staff was friendly. I'm considering buying a timeshare! Just remember, you're in their world! Have a great time.

We've been going to the Beach Club every year, and for many. If we were traveling to Negril with our top priority being sterile, American-ized room decorum, on-grounds amentities, or other star-rated features, we would probably not choose this location - or anywhere in Negril for that matter other than the North-end upper scale all-inclusives.
Indeed, we jokingly place bets beforehand as to whether our room will have hot water, a toilet that actually dispenses everything in a single flush, or more than one towel/washcloth set per day. You will not (ever) find the attractiveness of the Beach Club in these types of things, or even its ownership. Rather, its inescapable appeal is found in its unbeatable beach, the staff (many of whom are basically extended family to us now), the local food establishments scattered within walking distance along the beach, and that pure exotica which truly is Negril, Jamaica. If you're looking for mints on your pillows, limitless complimentary toiletries or beach towels, or that rapid-fire 5-star service to which we have become so accustomed in the States with our equally fast-paced mode of living, then don't go to Jamaica (and certainly not the Beach Club); it's not about the rooms and lobby, folks - if that's where you're looking to spend your time during vacation and during conversation after you get back home, you are completely missing the point by even traveling to Jamaica in the first place. If you want to really taste the essence of this beautiful-yet-definitely-third-world country, the Beach Club is unbeatable.

I booked this hotel via hotwire as Negril Beach Club Resort--please go and take a look at their photos. They show and classify the hotel as 3 star resort. The photos show wooden floors, large area room...in short, a nice 3 star resort boasting fitness facilities, jacuzzi, free wi-fi, room service, etc...
This needs to be investigated by Hotwire, but in the meantime I don't want anyone else to go through what we did.
I booked several days before arrival--we were already in Negril and I walked up the beach to check on the rooms because I figured maybe Mariners had been sold, rooms added, renovated, whatever. The front desk supervisor refused to show me the room pictured on site, citing that they were full but assured me that would be the exact room we would receive.
Well, when the time came to check in they said everything was full and we would have to wait.
Wait, we did...over 2 hours, only to be shown a decrepit room with old toast full of ants and roaches in the toaster, burnt countertop, no hot water....in short, a room I would not let my cat sleep in.
Went back to lobby, asked for the room I booked, was informed they were overbooked and that's all they had. I said, I won't stay here..they said fine...the penalty was 25.00 and one nights charges.
I said fine, I'll take this up with Hotwire which I give kudos for refunding me.

I'm writing this because this hotel deserves to be closed,. and I don't want anyone to be screwed like we were. Incidentally, upon changing the hotel name it has 3 stars and 4 out of 5 stars for reviews. The only problem is upon reading the reviews they seem to be for Beaches Negril. I've informed Hotwire of this fact as well.

Hotel staff were liars, con artists and well versed in bait and switch.

We booked this hotel in mid November to come over our Christmas Break through hotels.com. We reserved a room for 4 people and paid in full. The pictures on hotels.com expedia show hardwood floors, comfy beds and nice open space. So far from the reality.

We came in 2 am on Christmas day extremely travel weary and just looking to pass out. They brought us upstairs to a room which can only be described as horrific. First there was ONE double bed -- no sofa, love seat. The carpet and bed linens were stained, the bathroom was disgusting, the refrigerator was leaking, stove was full of rust and the cabinets were hanging on hinges. There was no soap, no toilet paper and no towels. Oh and there were bugs. We immediately went down to complain.

The woman proceeded to tell us that it was OUR fault b/c we checked in so late. I'm sorry but isn't that the point of making and paying for a reservation? Aren't you supposed to hold our room for us? We asked for the manager (not in ...not sure when he'll return). We tell her point blank we need sleeping arrangements for all of us and a CLEAN room. She shrugs her shoulders. A maintenance guy overhears us and says he can sneak us into a room that is currently closed b/c it's being renovated. It's terrible but at least has 2 beds.

The next morning they offer us NOTHING! I call hotels.com who proceeds to say they can't help us at all. We ended up calling hotel after hotel on Christmas day looking for anywhere to stay.

Never in my life have I ever been treated so rudely or expected to stay in a place that resembled the projects for that amount of money. You could not pay me to go back there. This hotel came very close to absolutely ruining our vacation and we are STILL arguing over them refunding our money. AVOID this place at all costs.

Upon Arriving, there was over a TWO-HOUR wait to be checked into the room. The lobby and the rooms are very shabby, filthy, in desperate need of repairs & renovations. The refrigerators do not work, leak all over the room and do not work. There are no remote controls for the air-conditioning units and the television….therefore channel surfing has to be done manually & many of the cable channels do not work. The rooms are infested with enormous cockroaches and all sorts of bugs, falling from the ceiling & every corner you turn. The Customer Service….I wouldn’t know where to begin….UNPROFESSIONAL, UNATTENTIVE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND DEGRADING!!!! BY FAR THE WORSE EXPERIRNECE EVER!!!!! Better hospitality & help would more than likely be provided at a homeless shelter….Even the security guards, not attentive & hardly ever positioned at their post….they’re usually off to the side gallivanting, laughing and socializing with friends on the compound or in front of the gate as they please while on duty! Management is never anywhere to be found to address needs, concerns, complaints of guests. Many family friends and even few of the local people in the town are aware of this establishment’s growing terrible reputation., Even the cab drivers warn guests to stay away from this place….Very regrettable & unfortunate experience….NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!! Please take heed & do not be fooled by the price….this place ought to be shut down!

The property is good, but the service is horrible. On this ATTEMPTED trip, after booking a reservation weeks in advance, upon calling 2days before to ensure that all is in order, found out that they completely erased all my information and had no availabilities. The woman was rude and told me it was my fault for not taking a name of the person who took the reservation and i should call back later, and when i asked for the manager, she swiftly said she was busy going to help someone and hung up on me.When calling repeatedly afterwards, they would not answer the phone.later on when someone finally did, they said no management was there at that time,im sure they knew it was me too.STAY FAR,they might screw you over too.

... when you arrive and they can't find your reservation on their handwritten sheet of paper. The confirmation email from hotels.com didn't help - they just claim it's not in "the system", which "happens sometimes". Coincidentally, they were also fully booked and couldn't offer us a room in any case.
While I was trying to sort this out, another couple arrived - and they made the exact same experience. They shuttled all of us off to their sister property Caribbean Sunset Resort, which is located on a hill behind the town center of Negril, far away from the beach as well the cliffs. Online, it was offered for $38. In the lobby, I met a guy who had booked it as youth hostel for $12 - that corresponded to the room. We had prepaid $143 a night for 10 days at the Beach Club. No one offered any refund for the difference, and they could not guarantee that we would be able to move back to the Beach Club later on.
Hotels.com handled my complaint very professionally, re-booked us to the Foote Prints Hotel (which we were very happy with), and refunded the price difference plus transport to the new accommodation.
No way we would ever risk our vacation by booking Beach Club again. If you still decide to do so, please do at least not reward their shady business practice by letting them put you in a youth hostel without any refund.

The staff (except for the owners)were very efficient.
It did take three days to receive a pot to boil rice in though. They should spray for mosquitos or at least put some bleach in the areas mosquitos breed.
If you are a local the price of a room is 37.50 a night, which is about what they are worth.
The motel would be booked if they charged everybody the same price.
The staff sees none of the so called tips included money.
If you go back-tip the staff-they deserve it.
The management could get a clue from the workers about courtesy.
They need you more than you need them, especially if you book in the off season.
The hot tub has never been opened in the past 10 years I have been going.
The pool has so much chemical in it you cannot swim. If the management was half as nice as their employees it would be a great place to stay.
The staff are always busy and do their jobs well.
The worst person is the lady who drives the white pickup truck. She knows who she is and she knows what kind of attitude she has. I hope she reads this comment. My favorite person is the man that makes the beach look so beautiful every morning.
I also like the men that keep the rest of the grounds so beautiful. The maids are very nice and courteous. Lady in the white pickup-get a clue from these employees. You are no better than them or the people that visit the Beach Club. Give them a fair pay for the work they do so they can feed their families. You will have to stand in front of God and tell Him why you were so greedy. Rent your property at a fair price and it will always be booked.
You have an ice machine-give the customers some FREE ice if they ask for it. Have specials in the off season to attract customers. You are no longer the only motel in Negril-compete with the other motels.
They are newer and have more to offer than you.
They also have more amenities. I will be back and if you haven't changed-that will be the last time.

The room was not a 5 star, the view was a Gold Crown..The sunsets were a memory that will never go away and keep me wanting to go back. The Fruit, Fruit, Fruit..Lady was a warm welcome at the end of a sun soaked day. Everyone was helpful...I walked to town, worked out in the gym, and learned how to dive..and loved the room, even though the ac was loud. Hot water for my shower, ac and a great time...

"Rondel Village showed us our real room before we checked in (bright, CLEAN, airy and all the staff were just as friendly, accommodating and helpful the rest of our stay). I wish we'd insisted on doing the same at Negril Beach Club. If we had, we might still have had to pay the one night cancellation fee, but could have avoided the first night charge."
