The Montego Bay Club Resort resides 30 feet from the enterence of Doctor's Cave beach. You will not get any closer than this. Perfect.
This hotel is located on the drag that can lead you in and out of town.
If you are wanting to save your money to use for more desirable items, I would suggest taking a junior suite or better. This has two seperate rooms and a kitchenette. Perfect. You can cook all you want and pack a lunch for yourself if you choose. There is a miniature grocery store on the 1st floor where you can buy your food if you choose. You can even buy food cheaper down town if you opt to take the trip over. Walking distance from the hotel you can obtain a vehicle of choice, moped, motorcycle, car, etc. In addition there are several shops along the the way that offer great deals. To get the best deal, you need to be willing to negotiate. Trust me, it works. The rooms are well kept and clean. So for those of us that want to vacation like the Jones's but do not want to spend the dollars, this would be a fair choice.

I stayed at Montego Bay club resort on three occasions and had a great time. Every apartment is owned by different owners so it depends on the owner what you get. When I first went I stayed on the 8th floor which I book through homeaway.com and it over looked Doctor;s cave beach (excellent view) and the apartment was clean, updated etc. So my second time going to Jamaica I tested my luck and just showed up at the front desk and requested a apartment (bad idea). When I was showed the apartment it did have a great view but the furniture and decor looked like back in 1977. So after requesting another apartment x2 I finally got a very updated one on the 6th floor with granite counters, dark wood and new furniture. Honestly the view will make your trip. Every morning or night you can watch the action on the Hip strip or Doctor;s cave beach or relax with a drink on your balcony and watch the cruise ships dock. Everything is in walking distance so if you are not a fan driving in Jamaica this is the spot for you. The Pork Pit just up the street has the best jerk chicken and pork on the island and Margarettaville is in walking distance. Doctors cave beach is a elevator ride downstairs and directly across the street for $600 jmd daily. There is a lady who sells fruit at the bottom of the stairs, try not to pass up the delicious local fruit from the island. Prices range from $100-189 and the building has only studios and 1 bedroom apartments so do you research when choosing the right one for you.

We have stayed at the MoBay Club many times starting in 1995 and the last time in 2006.

The place seems to be getting a lot of bad reviews as a hotel. I'm not surprised at that because it is NOT a hotel. It is a high rise condominium with all the suits privately owned. The ladies who rent out the suites are not hotel managers, they are agents renting out other peoples' suites.

If you are looking for luxury accommodatrions with pampering service don't go there.

If you are looking for reasonable prices, daily maid service, a great view from the balconies and you want to do your own cooking, this is a great place.

We start and finish our Jamaica adventures at the MoBay Club every year and we will be back in February 2007.

Location is great on the "Hip Strip". However, multipleissues. First, we did not get the penthouse apartment we booked online. They said that wasn't available. Second, they wanted
To charge the same price until we vehemently objected. Third, our apartment was not fully cleaned-tub still had sand in it from previous occupant. Fourth, we didn't have hot water. Fifth, the balcony sliding door lock was literaly tying the rope used to hold back the curtains around the door knob. It did not hold the door fully closed so we heard the wind all night. We only stayed one night.

Went to Montego Bay for a short vacation. Rented via Airbnb through Karl Lawrence. I have to echo some of the thoughts posted by other users. Unfortunately he is what gives Airbnb a bad reputation and should be removed from their platform. His place is quite run down, pictures although capture the space unfortunately do not give a clear indication of the state it’s in. Could use a good clean, new coat of paint (at the least) and perhaps an update of some of the amenities. As they say: you got to spend money to make money. These rental units require some modicum of capital and maintenance expenditures. Thats business. I don’t think he understands that though.

It was suitable for a week but what was most problematic was the end. Left him a reasonable review as the placed served its purpose. Close to the beach, close to restaurants as well as lounges and provided us with a descent vacation.

Karl Lawrence had audacity though to not only post misinformation about my stay but ask for an additional hundred dollars from me. He claims I took one of his mediocre used towels and he submitted the claim to Airbnb asking me to pay for not one but 6 towels. He then goes on to ask for 40 dollars due to a plumbing issue. Thankfully Airbnb resolved each and denied his claims.

I get the sense this is a regular occurrence for him. Following this interaction I searched his name-seems like I am not the only one to experience this.

Be careful with him: the pictures may tempt you but the experience post rental may leave you questioning why you chose his property.

It was a one of a kind experience. All the staff was very pleasant and welcoming through our stay, the only thing I can complain about is the 1500 coupon book that can't be used for anything or very little. Need less to say we left it there as our gift to you from us, it did us no good. Wasted paper.

Priceless Seaview. My Airbnb host was Elizabeth, my condo was on the 9th floor. It was an incredible experience. Right on the "hipstrip" within walking distance to everything- Casino, Margaritaville, the beach, supermarkets. Downtown taxi is only a 1.00 US or a nice walk. My unit was recently renovated, it was like home away from home. All new appliances, I was impressed and highly recommend this host.

I stayed at the Montego Bay Club Resort Hotel in March 2005. What a disaster! I was given a room on the 15th (top) floor, which was shabby and smelt like a British railway lavatory. The kitchen utensils were few, inappropriate and so grubby I just couldn’t face eating off them. The noise at night was just crazy. First of all, the air conditioning was so loud it was like sleeping in a boiler room with your head right up against the boiler. Directly above me, on the roof, were machines that made a drilling sound all night. Then there was the din from outside (poolside entertainment (sound system) coming from the hotel in front until late, plus the usual road noise). All of this, along with the overwhelming nauseous smell of the room, meant that I spent the worst night ever in a hotel. I moved out next day into the adjacent El Greco Hotel. Now this was more like it! Cosy, clean, and peaceful with everything you expect a hotel to provide you with. What a haven compared to the nightmare across the way. Travellers beware. I chose Montego Bay Club Resort because the reviews were good and it seemed like good value for money. Take my advice. Pay a few extra dollars and choose the El Greco (ask for D block which has everything you’ll need - including silence all night long).

I absoultely adore this place. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. If you want peace and quietness on your vacation, then this is the place to stay. No one bothers you and if you can get a room with a view overlooking Doctor's Cave Beach, then your trip was worth it. I will always stay here because everyone is like family.

Hi. How much do you charge for airport shuttel?
Answer from Tom B
Jacksonville, Florida3 contributions14 helpful votes
This building is comprised of units that are individually owned primarily as rental properties. Most owners use and agency to book their condos and handle guest issues, clean up, etc. There is no shuttle service per se. The easiest thing to do is take a taxi from the airport (you will be immediately accosted by multiple drivers as soon as you exit customs & immigration). It's only a five minute drive and they will rip you off for $20, but that's the going rate.
