Hotel's Favourite
I selected this resort for many reasons, but mostly because of the amazing reviews here on TA. Once again, the TA travelers nailed it! What an amazing time we had.

Are you considering choosing this resort? You are if you are looking for a quiet (except for the tree frogs at night lol) place, great accommodations, amazing staff and great food and drinks. Let's talk specifics.

My wife is vegan and I read on the reviews that this was not an issue here. Little did I know that the fabulous Chef Marco would personally come out to talk with my wife every breakfast and dinner to discuss options for her! It was literally like having your own chef! On Wednesdays, the Lighthouse (main restaurant) does a 7- course meal. He custom made a 7-course vegan meal for my wife so she would feel included. Come on- who does that???

The staff? Simply amazing. Our room ambassadors, Daryl and Kenya- were so wonderful. We were given our direct phone to reach them, but we are not that needy- so we just used it a few times. My wife did need a doctor for a minor issue and after telling Daryl, the doctor was at our room in 3 hours with medication. Paid via credit card and sent in to insurance for reimbursement. Natalia on the beach and Natalia in the Lighthouse were service goddesses. Colette took care of us the last two nights in the lighthouse. On the second night we had her, already knowing that I had to have chocolate for dessert, she went off menu and found me a chocolate brownie with chocolate ice cream before I even had a chance to ask. It is just incredible how the little things make it so much better.

Hector on the beach (and sailing instructor) was also great- we were happy to practice our Spanish with him since my wife is learning via Dualingo. Lastly, Tascia at Irina's was so sweet to make sure my wife was taken care of for lunches we ate there, also recognizing her as "the vegan".

The casual water sports were amazing in 78 degree water. The pools were prefect. The drinks were amazing. The staff is one of the best ANYWHERE and we have traveled to so many places. Pickleball is available-highly recommend early int he morning to avoid the sun.

Check-in- check-out- luggage- all taken care of. It is simply one of the best vacations ever. Even the drivers from Eagle were so nice.

Lastly- I know tipping is an individual topic/decision- but we tipped all trip, except for Chef and the ambassadors, which we did at the end. I always feel that if I am fortunate to be able to stay at amazing resorts like this, I can go above and beyond tip included/all inclusive for service that is above and beyond. Believe me- this staff is amazing.

We try not to repeat resorts since there are so many destinations in the world to see- but would definitely recommend and go back. Negatives? Not going to be picky- meat wasn't the best quality for the 7-course and the chicken was tough. Nothing that detracts from the amazing trip.

Room was awesome and housekeeping so helpful. Gym was good size for a smaller resort. Gift shop has everything- if not- ask your ambassador!

We just returned from newly opened Hammock Cove. The staff was incredible, shout out to Joel the bar tender and Julio the beach attendant. They both go out of their way for you if you are in their presence. The 42 rooms are beautiful and the beds are one of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. Due to Covid, there were some downfalls, but not to any fault of the resort. The menu was limited due to the limited occupancy in the evening at the Lighthouse,, but you could request anything the morning of. You had the option to have your room cleaned at an additional fee, which I personally think, if you are there for more than 5 nights, they should throw in at least 1 cleaning at no additional cost. This is one of the other downfalls. The ambassadors were great also, Gabriel and Pabst, thumbs up! The spa and gym were opened with additional Covid rules, which was to be expected, but just that they were both up and running was great. All staff always had masks on and guests were very good at respecting each other and wearing theirs when they needed to. The owner of the resort, Rob Barrett was gracious and went out of his way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed to his resort. He made sure he met with every guest and spent time chatting with us. As a travel agent, I hope to return to this lovely gem when the Covid is said and done to get the full effect of a special place.

Hammock Cove is one of the nicest, if not the nicest, resort I’ve stayed, and will definitely return. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful; anything you need they’re there. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. They keep the rooms fully stocked with beer, liquor, wine, water, coffee, etc. and are able to tailor it to your preference (e.g. I didn’t prefer the beer they stocked in the mini fridge, so they switched for a different type). We spent much more time than expected relaxing in our private pool and deck, enjoying the views. We stayed in room 36 which I thought was a great location (views of the ocean rather than views of the bay). The beach was quiet, with nice lounge chairs, a server that could bring your food and drinks, and various water activities (SUP, kayak, etc.).
Food was great. Good options for lunch and dinner in the main room. Dinner at Lighthouse was very nice. Men are required to wear pants, collar shirt, and closed toed shoes (I only had jeans which was ok, but most others wore slacks).
As for COVID - everything was very clean and well planned. All staff wears a mask. No one will come into your room to clean or restock without your approval (we had them bring more water and various other items and left on our doorstep when we were out). No concern at all.
Highly recommend.

My husband and I honeymooned at the beautiful Hammock Cove, fully expecting there to be some kinks in such a new resort. It wasn’t perfect, (we had some minor room issues) and there are some inconsistencies with service given that the team is so new.

Any issue was handled with genuine care by the wonderful staff. Our ambassadors were lovely, (Pabs and Leon) and Ivanna, Bobby and Darrin from the Lighthouse restaurant went the extra mile each night to make our stay memorable.

Once the resort has been opened a bit longer it will be beyond a five star. It’s a quiet, intimate place - just over 40 villas, no loud pool music, excessive buffets or scrambling for beach chairs. Menus are a la carte (breakfast too) and don’t change except at the Lighthouse, which is a fantastic dinner restaurant requiring a reservation.

A little extra I loved - each room has its own library - an assortment of new best sellers and books guests left behind. What a lovely touch when your airport bought beach read isn’t cutting it!

Bathrooms were huge and luxurious, but there was no ventilation (fans) or magnifying mirrors which was a minor inconvenience.

We can’t wait to come back!

Hammock Cove Antigua is a true gem, as the newest resort on the island it opened winter 2019 soon it was forced to navigate through Covid restrictions and seemed to be the safest and most luxurious place to stay without much worry. They ensure all Covid protocols are maintained by staff and guests are tested on site in preparation of their departure a few days prior to their flight.

The resort itself is beautifully located in a very serene cove, which is naturally protected from the crashing waves adjacent to Devil’s Bridge (a must see, walking distance from the resort). Pro tip: wear tennis shoes as the limestone is very sharp and tricky to navigate in sandals. Sunset is the best time if you don’t mind waking early on a holiday.

Hammock Cove offers included beach activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding, and snorkeling. The location is perfect for those who would rather not leave their resort as every individual room has it’s own infinity pool with water views while encompassing your own personal haven of privacy. The beaches are so calm and the water temp is perfect, while the waitstaff is beyond tentative.

The staff, by far is what makes this place such a trifecta of amazingness. Each guest is allotted 2 “ambassadors” and these guys do the absolute most to ensure your holiday is enjoyable.
Had too many rum punches and lost your phone at the beach? Not a problem, Kenya made sure it got back to my room safely. Leon was our other ambassador who helped us with our Pink Panther Safari Tour (when the government canceled all boating excursions on the island) he ensured we still had the best time celebrating our 3rd anniversary.

The food is actually great, fresh and rotates multiple new specials while having some basics on the regular menu as well. This resort is all inclusive, however the staff earned additional tips and they were beyond appreciative with a little tip $. Yet they provided impeccable care without it.
Lorenzo is the bar manager and he is beyond attentive to details and ensures you are well looked after. Gabriel makes the most decadent 3D cappuccinos for breakfast and the most glorious run drinks at the “nobody knows bar”. The managers and owner are kind and Jason kept my husband entertained while he watched our local football game at the bar.

The island has 365 beaches , one for every day of the year. the feelings of it being quite safe, but it is recommended to hire a tour guide (recommended Pink Panther Safari) as Joy our guide was able to share with us all the joys and secrets of her home island.

We will be back without a doubt to visit Hammock Cove again. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

*The only recommendations to management to note: the additional of more ceiling fans in the indoor spaces such as the restaurants and lobby would be helpful on the hottest days. Also, we recommend offering a pair of binoculars as the surrounding organic view is too perfect to not wonder what is on the other side.

If you are looking for a party resort, this isn’t it. If you are looking for complete relaxation, plentiful drinks, spectacular service, beautiful views and top notch food, then look no further!

We stayed in villa #6 and received plenty of afternoon sun to warm up the plunge pool, we were close to everything yet had excellent privacy.

The beach is well maintained and you could see Julio raking the sand every morning to make sure it was perfect when people go to their chairs. Julio is the absolute best, anything ask for was me with a “no problem”.

The food at both restaurants was off the charts fantastic. We are experienced travelers and this is the best food I’ve ever had at a resort. Vonetta and Desa were excellent waitresses.

We took the Calypso Cat tour and it was an absolute perfect day. Snorkeling in three separate areas we saw fish, sea turtles and starfish.

All the employees were so appreciative of us and would do anything to help. Kanna and Erick were especially great.

From start to finish, our stay at Hammock Cove was a dream. We were delayed in the airport arriving in Antigua so we’re 4 hours late checking in but the amazing staff was there to greet us, knew us by name, and ushered us straight to Irina’s for a cocktail and something to eat

The resort was so pristine it felt almost as like COVID 19 didn’t exist any more.

We adored our room, especially our patio and plunge pool. The wi-fi was great so we always enjoyed our favorite music while watching the sunset

Our favorite part was probably the Tuesday excursion on the Calypso Cat.... you have to do it!

Overall we had a great experience at Hammock Cove. We went in January, so it had only been open for 1 month, but it seemed like they had already worked out most of the kinks.

The size was great. It never felt crowded anywhere in the resort and we were always able to get chairs on the beach and at the restaurants. As this was adults only, there weren't kids running around so it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff (especially the bartenders and maids) were awesome and always happy to help. The villas were super relaxing with lovely views (we didn't get the ocean front room, but we could still see the water) and comfy chairs.

The cons were minor, but for the price we paid, they were enough to take this to 4 stars instead of 5. The food was good, but I wasn't blown away and there weren't a lot of options so if you are a vegetarian or have some other dietary restriction, you might have a little difficulty here. That being said, the white pizza, the Wednesday night dinner at Lighthouse, and most of the desserts were pretty amazing. Food service could also be a little slow sometimes. For example, I think that our table was forgotten about at lunch a couple of times. Once we got staff attention though, they were happy to help.

All-in-all, the pros definitely outweighed the cons and I would recommend Hammock Cove. I would bet the cons will be worked out within the next few months anyway.

We just got back from a 6 day, 10 year anniversary trip and it was absolutely amazing. We went looking for some r and r and we got exactly that. The villas were incredible, plunge pools with amazing views. We couldn’t have asked for more. The food at the lighthouse was definitely 5 star quality. Lunches by the pool were also very good, fresh fish daily They had specials daily. The staff was great and always helpful, whatever we asked for we received. Sometimes they knew what we needed without even asking. The drinks were plentiful, well stocked rooms with whichever premium alcohol we asked for. Amazing trip, highly recommended!

This hotel is a joke! It certainly is not a five star hotel. I'll begin from the top with management. Although the GM Rosario appears to be sweet, she does not have the qualifications or business smarts to run a hotel that's attempting to come off as high end. Her lack of experience shows in the poor performance of her staff members.

The "guest ambassadors" (butlers) were too aggressive in ensuring they secure a large tip and I found Maxwell to be a little bit too raunchy for my taste. I caught him staring at me inappropriately.

The spa is overly priced and although I enjoyed my massage with Elizabeth it was not worth the hefty price tag and I felt bad throughout the entire massage because she looked as though she was being held against her will and could start crying at the drop of a hat.

The roads that leads to this hotel is so bad you would need comfortable boots or sneakers to go on your walks or hikes. With all the money they charge, you'd think they would fix the roads.

The only good things that had a five star quality would be the food and the fabulous Chef Marco, the house yogi Simonetta a very lovely and charming lady who teaches more of a therapeutic style of yoga that is user friendly for everyone. As someone who was a Marketing Executive I must say it was smart on their part hiring a yogi with Indian background. That was a brilliant marketing strategy. Last but not least the location and views from this hotel is simply breath taking and overall the island itself is worth visiting again but next time I will be staying at different hotel.

No there are not really any activities in the evening. There are special dining events in the evenings. The rum bar is a fun place to hang out they also have a game room people would hang out in.
