We shared our time in Tokyo between the hurly burly of Shinjuku and the relative quiet of this big modern hotel in Daiba at the other end of the city. The style of the hotel is Las Vegas: big rooms, wide hallways, grand foyers, lots of marble and glitz. Check in was professional. We were initially given a lower floor room, but when we requested an upper floor it was quickly accommodated. Very nice - as was the beautiful view of Mt Fuji and the harbour from our room on the 21st floor.
The room was big, with great beds, and wonderful amenities. It even had round bamboo sticks in the closet with which to massage the soles of your feet after a day of walking through Tokyo.
My only quibble with this hotel was breakfast. While the food was fine with a mixture of western and Japanese foods including fresh fruit, the dining room was too small to accommodate all the morning guests wanting breakfast at about the same time. It was interesting to note that the foyers and public rooms were huge, yet the breakfast room necessitated guest to get a number and wait until you were called when a table became available. This issue also resulted in the breakfast buffet being crowded as people bumped into each other given the limited and poorly designed space. But that is a minor quibble we dealt with by getting to the dining room earlier.
Daiba is a fascinating look into the future from the light rail we took to get there to the shops and exhibit halls. including the giant Ferris wheel (which was well worth it).

Everything is top notch, the room, bathroom, the staff, breakfast options, the access to nearby places such as train station, malls, odaiba sea side park, and many more. Also there's free shuttle bus that runs through the city, where u can just hop in right in front of the hotel lobby, talks about convinient. I am definitely coming back here when I visit Odaiba again.

Surprisingly affordable hotel for the level of service, beauty of the building, and excellent location. We were lucky enough to get a room on the 24th floor, affording us a view of the water and gorgeous architecture of the city. The staff of this hotel speak multiple langauges and the guests are international. We did not eat in any of the hotel restaurants, yet the hotel's location made it very easy to get to nearby dining and shops, as well as the nearby train.
The room itself was sparkling clean and there are a multitude of elevators, so you never wait longer than 20 seconds.
HINT: Do not pay the extreme fee for the outdoor terrace pool, unless you have a ton of money and enjoy spending it to be "Seen" by other swimmers. Instead you can get a cheap gym day, which includes a 3 lane pool, where we never had to wait for an empty lane. Plus the changing facilities at the hotel gym are exquisite.

This hotel has every advantage on the great location, just a few steps off the Daiba station, easy access to Yurikamome line which direct to Tokyo Big Sight- the major exhibition place I need to go to every day. Breakfast at Japanese restaurant on the 3rd floor is great, so do the buffet on the 1st floor. Great room space and cozy bed. There are big 2 shopping malls nearby within walking distance called Aqua City and Diver City.

I had a wonderful 2 night stay in a Bayview Floor Superior Twin. I chose the hotel because I didn’t want the full on chaotic Tokyo experience at double the price. The hotel oozes space. My room was spacious, had beautiful decor and was generously supplied with amenities including 4 bottles of water, a coffee machine and bath salts. The best thing about it was the lovely view to Tokyo city and Rainbow Bridge. You cannot get this view from the hotels in the city. After a big day of walking, sightseeing, shopping and eating, it was lovely to return to the room and order room service which was reasonably priced, and sit at the window to watch the bobbing ferries, the trains, then a lightening storm over the city. I chose to arrive by a 20 minute taxi ride from Haneda airport although I know there’s a shuttle bus from there which I didn’t want to wait for. My luggage was rolled in on a trolley and check in was very streamlined. It helps if you’re a member of their loyalty club, One Harmony, as you get your own check in line, plus a discounted rate. I bought breakfasts in my room rate which were served downstairs in the Garden Restaurant. It catered for everyone with a very generous and attractive buffet. There’s a convenience store adjacent to the hotel as well as a bakery which opens at 11am and does excellent lunches, with wine! There are 2 excellent shopping malls within a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and a train station which is right next to the hotel. The walking possibilities around the hotel are endless. They’re printed on a map of Odaiba which you can pick up from the concierge. This isn’t a hotel where you find temples, shrines and other historical monuments in the vicinity. Instead it’s located near various museums and attractions to which you can walk or travel to on the free shuttle bus which circulates around Odaiba. The only downside is it’s not convenient to Narita airport where my next flight departed. I reached Narita by taking a 10 minute taxi ride to Shinagawa station, and the Narita Express from there. It was a perfect stay.

The hotel is conveniently located if you arrive Tokyo via Haneda Airport, though it’s also easy travelling to and from Narita Airport by highway without the need of passing through the busy downtown area. We stayed in this hotel for a total of 5 nights (1st night and then another 4 nights two days later). When we arrived on 2/F driveway, bell service was not readily available, rather, we needed to walk into lobby to ask for assistance. No bell captain was stationing outside when we arrived. Our 1st night was fine. Our room on Bay View Floor (deluxe twin) was spacious with 3 double beds but still had roomy space for our luggages. The bathroom was also spacious with separate shower and bath tub. Since we booked the room with breakfasts included, we could have breakfasts either at Lobby Cafe on 2/F or Garden Dining on 1/F. Our first breakfasts were at Lobby Cafe and service there was good. On our return two days later, we stayed on Club Floor (Club Breeze Deluxe Twin). The room decor and size was more or less the same as that on Bay View Floor, but the only difference was that we were given breakfast coupons to be consumed on the Grill on 30/F or by room service. First of all, our booking was 3 adults 1 kid and confirmation email stated that breakfasts were included. So we supposed that we should entitle 4 breakfast coupons for every night of stay. However, the front desk staff only gave me 3 coupons each day at the time of check in. I went to front desk to sort out why, the lady staff kept saying that our booking was for 3 people instead of 4, which was contrary to what stated in the confirmation email. Though she gave me back the “missing” coupons at the end, but the whole dialogue with her was difficult to comprehend and she annoyed me completely. She kept saying the number of coupons, which was 4, given to me on my 1st day was by mistake and her attitude made me felt I was asking something unreasonable or not entitled. The experience with her was truly a bad one. The other thing made me disappointed was the service at the Grill on 30/F. We went there for breakfasts the next day and were served by a male staff. When I ordered a cup of cappuccino, he said not available right away. I was completely astonished by his answer as I wondered why cappuccino was not served at executive lounge, but was available at Lobby Cafe. Such kind of service was not acceptable indeed. The other day I went to Garden Dining on 1/F for breakfast. The service there was exceptionally good and of course cappuccino was served without any question. Food choices were plenty there and serving staff were polite and helpful. The unhappy experience at the Grill on 30/F was completely a disappointment. Except the unhappy experiences at the front desk and the Grill on 30/F, the stay at Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba was satisfactory.

Large upscale hotel in Odaiba. Average service. The rooms are pretty large for Tokyo. They provide everything you need; robe, toiletries, rags, towels, water. Although a little pricey this place is worth it.

Very politely received and taken very rapidly and courteously to the room which had an excellent view across Tokyo Bay towards the centre of the city. The room was very well provided including a bottle each of a white and red Chilean wine and Japanese beer which was cooling in the fridge, complement of the hotel. The room was clean and with space to easily move about, bed comfortable and a large bathroom with both a bath and a shower. Breakfast was available in three places with the Garden Buffet on level two the most popular, a quicker cafe style on level 1 and a Japanese sushi on level three. We tried the garden buffet. It was a strange experience to see a twin row of seats with people sitting on them. On approaching the desk to be sat, we were offered a numbered ticket, requested politely to be seated and told we will be called when table was available. A good variety was available for breakfast with usual Western food. However, the choice of cereals was very unhealthy. The Japanese food bar was a surprise, it should not have been, but was unexpected so took the opportunity to try a bit of everything. the fukagawa-meshi with miso broth with a small amount of the following all on one medium plate: prawn Jade dumpling, dried crispy seaweed, a bit of each of roasted seaweed, spicy pollack roe, white bait, grated radish, Japanese salt plum, plain boiled rice with Japanese curry (powdered spice mix and boiled in water - very unpleasant) and a piece of Japanese omelette.

This was the second time I stayed at Daiba which is about 30 minutes train ride from Shinjuku. The hotel is next to 3 shopping malls, with lots of shops and eateries. The area is very quiet and scenic. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The check in and out were very fast. The room is spacious for Japanese standard, it's clean and the bed is comfortable. The hotel staffs are all very polite and helpful. The MRT is right next to the hotel and there was a 24 hours convenient store to the right of the main entrance of the hotel.

So we stayed 6 nights at the Grand Nikko. Arriving after midnight, we had some debate as to whether the hotel was actually open given there was not a soul to be seen. We did manage to locate someone to check us in after a few minutes of wandering around but don’t expect help with bags if you arrive at night.
The room was huge and we got the interconnecting rooms we had requested, however, the rooms we had in the 8th floor were very tired and bore no resemblance to the rooms shown on the website. There was plenty of dust around the place and no one seemed very interested in this of the fact my wife and I had been given single beds.
Breakfast is the biggest farce with this massive hotel having nowhere near the capacity to accommodate all for breakfast. There is a queue and generally 15 min wait each morning for breakfast, which, tbh, isn’t worth the wait.
Staff seem generally confused about most things and the comedy concept of paying to use the on site pool and gym adds to the general sense of cluelessness. Nevertheless, the location is great, with the metro connecting to the hotel and Daiba very lively. Rooms are huge and rooms are well insulated.
I wouldn’t not stay here again but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

Yes, there are heaps of restaurants close by. Many of them are in the nearby Aqua City mall but just outside the hotel near the Lawson convenience store is an Italian called Incontro, and the Bakery, which does the most amazing sit-down lunches and takeaways. You can even have a glass of wine with your lunch. Prices are extremely reasonable.
I would consider hiring a local guide to show you around. There are infinite attractions in Tokyo. Another idea is to take a river cruise from the marine park pier which is close to the hotel, to Asakusa or Tokyo Skytree.
A train to the centre of Tokyo can take from 30minutes to an hour depending on where you want to go. There’s a train station across the road from the hotel. Book a bay view room with a view of Rainbow bridge and the entire Tokyo skyline. It’s fabulous.
For Nikko: Take a taxi to Tokyo Station and take Shinkansen to Utsonomiya and JR service from there to Nikko.
There are 2 Ibarakis in Japan and you have not stated which one. Best to go to Google maps and sort it yourself.
