The view was stunning, and the location was fantastic.
The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, we bought local street food from the market and when we returned they offered us cutlery and a microwave to use for our food. We felt very at home and comfortable here.

I've read a few negative reviews and must say I didn't see it that way. I had a ground floor room which is elevated about 5 feet up from the ground. My view from the room was perfect! The bed was comfy, AC worked well, centrally located in Kamala, great restaurant attached to the hotel (Mamma Mia) and the employees were awesome. Great employees really do add to the experience and they did. Shared a drink or 2 (whiskey) with the off-going staff one night. That's what I love about travel. Meeting people from somewhere I'm not. Thanks, Scott Klacking

As I did not like the tourist invaded beaches of Kata, Karon or Patong I decided to move to Kamala beach. This beach is not as popular with tourists, however it also offers all the amenities, stores and bars but on a much smaller and likeable scale.

The Thaikamala Village is directly located on the beach of Kamala, there is no road or noisy bars in front of it. All rooms have a great view over the ocean and a nice balcony. The hotel is calm as in front there is only the ocean and on the other side it is a bit away from the road (and therefore not easy to find). The hotel seems to be popular with older couples who enjoy a more quite vacation. These customers seem to visit on a regular basis, so the hotel can be booked out at times. There are maybe 30 rooms in the hotel. The rooms offer a minibar and satellite TV.

Price: We paid 1800Baht for high season, however if you stay longer you get a discount. This may not be very cheap for Thailand, but if you don`t want to keep looking for ages this is a good value place to stay at Kamala beach.

Positive: Great location, Kamala Beach is not as spoiled as the rest of Phuket yet. The hotel is directly on the beach and it is located calm. All rooms have a great view on the ocean. The staff is very nice and everybody truly makes an effort to make your stay as great as possible. During our stay everybody was extraordinary friendly and helpful. We appreciated this a lot coming from Kata beach. The girl at the reception was especially kind to us (unfortunately I forgot her name). The owner (French or Belgian) came over a bit grumpy, but his Thai employees made that up completely.

Negative: The rooms are very simple and the furniture is old. However the beds are good and the rooms and bathrooms are clean. The balcony offers not too much privacy as other people can look onto your balcony.

Conclusion: Being rather young I did not mind sharing the hotel with retired couples as the location was perfect and the staff was lovely. When visiting Kamala beach I would go again and I can recommend this hotel to everybody who likes a great location, doesn`t mind simple rooms and appreciates friendly staff.

A bit apprehensive when we arrived our original hotel booking had cancelled us a few days before so we needed to find somewhere quick

Our expectations were not particularly high since the accommodation only has a 3 star rating

Situated right on the beach in the centre of the town the rooms were fairly standard but we had everything we needed included a safe, fridge & TV, our room was cleaned daily, with drinking water and fresh towels provided each time. Bed & pillows ultra comfy too

Management and staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble

Kamala is a lovely little town. We will be back !! and will certainly consider staying in the Thai Kamala again when we do

Well me & my wife stayed here in Oct 2022 and fell in love with the room !!

Clean room good for two people with all amenities with balcony overlooking the sea, clean bathrooms but the best part you can watch the sea from your bed !!

They do have an in house restaurant (don't serve breakfast though) and there are a lot of restaurants/cafes around this hotel. Also the staff, not many though, are all very sweet & helpful.

Beach towels are provided too which is a big plus for people wanting to spend more time on the beach !!

Will definitely stay here if coming to Phuket again !!

I had to go puket in the weekend I stayed in kemala puket hotel. l very happy in service of the hotel staff they had lot Tourist attractions in puket that recommended. They had activated for costumer
To create fun staying in a hotel But it costs a small fee. But any the room in hotel is beautiful and
The view is beautiful. Very calm no noise to disturb. For me I thought It’s worth it to had a comfortable rest. In the good place. There are more in hotel is had a free breakfast in the morning
At the price paid,I thought it’s very reasonable to paid. I recommend it to those who love peace and feel comfortable. I want to do activities. There is a delicious food here that is very suitable for you. I guarantee that if you have already, you will definitely go back 100%. But most of the time, if you go to rest, it is recommended during the summer because if it is another season, it will not have a good atmosphere like me, especially in the rainy season, it may make your activities to do may not be recommended. The best is summer.

While it may not be the Ritz (nor does it pretend to be), this hotel is everything you will ever need for a holiday in Kamala whether you’re travelling solo (as I was) or with a significant other or plus 2 or 3 even. Comfortable rooms? Check. In-house bar and restaurant? Check. Central location? Check. Excellent and helpful staff and management? Check, check, check. Please give them an honest look, I will happily recommend them to my family and friends coming to Phuket.

Amazing location and beachfront views. Clean and modern rooms and everything we were looking for for our extended stay on Kamala beach. Small walk round to many of our favourite beachfront restaurants but actually good not having them right on the doorstep. Had a look at a few different hotels in our price bracket and this is by far our favourite.

The pictures set a certain expectation. When I got here I found an old room, rusty fridge, old furniture and an uncomfortable bed. Theres even a hole in the door covered up and stuffed with tissue paper.

Was in Phuket over a weekend to join some friends who had booked 4 nights' accommodation at this hotel. Before I'd arrived, they'd already told me that they had way overpaid for the place. While the hotel was very decent (good bedding, large room, lovely interior, good sea view), the price was way too high to be justified. Given, they had booked the room very last minute, but the price they paid was almost the equivalent of a 4-star hotel.

I will start with the positives. As mentioned, the bed was amazing, the balcony opens up to the sea (but is blocked partially by trees), the location is a short walk to the main beach where all the restaurants are, its just off the main road so you can call for taxis, there is a 7/11 just outside, as well as massage parlours and lots of eateries. However, the hotel was very near to a canal where sewage was dumped into constantly, so there was always a lingering stench. We were not as close as other accommodations, I don't know how those hotel guests stayed there when the stench was literally right in front of them. If you keep your balcony doors closed and your AC on 24/7 you won't smell it but you have to walk past it to get to the main kamala beach so there's no avoiding it.

The first night I was there, the light in the bathroom went out. Luckily for us, it was pretty late at night so we didn't need it much. The next morning we asked the reception to fix the light as we headed out on a boat trip, and they agreed. We thought that we would come back to a fixed bathroom light and be done with it.

When we got back 5 hours later, the light in our bathroom still wasn't fixed, but there were a couple light bulbs lying around that we hadn't noticed before. I was annoyed that the light hadn't been fixed, but here's the real kicker - all our stuff had been removed from the room too. I mean, a clean sweep had been done of our room, and it was as though we never stayed there. It was completely unethical of them to remove our stuff, wherever they had removed it to, without our permission!

5 mins after we'd returned to the room and found our belongings gone, the staff came up to our room and told us they would like us to move to another room as they could not fix the light in our bathroom. They led us to a room two doors down, where our things had been put. I immediately went to check that nothing had been taken. While I appreciate them changing us to a different room, it doesn't mean they have the right to move our things for us. What would happen if something had gone missing?

1) They could've waited for us to come back and ask us to move to another room, I was more than happy to move my things myself.
2) They saw us at reception when we came back from our day trip, yet didn't stop us to tell us they had moved us. It was only AFTER we had been in our room that they bothered to tell us.
3) You don't touch your hotel guests' things! That's just not right!
4) My friend had left his laptop in the drawer in the closet and they had not moved that. Imagine if he had forgotten that he had left it there, and a new guest had moved into the room. What was going to happen then?

I feel the need to write all that on this review as I have never gotten my belongings touched by hotel staff before, and I don't think it's right of them to do so. I don't know if I'd ever stay there again just for the price as well as the fact that I don't want my items being moved without my permission again.

TL;DR: Alright location, clean room, way overpriced, staff moved our belongings without telling us, might not stay again. Oh yeah, and a dog barked all night for two nights and kept my friends up.
