We have just returned from staying at the Baan Vanida and we had a wonderful time. Our group stayed in the lodges in the grounds and loved it. They were cleaned daily and we found it very comfortable. The staff were so friendly, the restaurant on site did a wide selection of good quality food and drinks at reasonable price. The hotel is off the main road in a quiet location but few minutes from the town centre, 9/11 and cash machine. If you turn left you are on a street of restaurant and bars leading to the beach; if you go right and right again at the lights, there are loads of bigger restaurants and turn left on the main road, you are in bar street. We felt safe walking around and never saw any bother. Highly recommend it. One tip we wish we knew was that the majority of places preferred cash so we had to draw money out every other day. And beware the mosquitos - we were bit a lot and the local tiger balm you can buy was a godsend.

We stayed here at the start of our trip to Thailand and was pleasantly surprised! The entrance was beautiful and the pool was great too. The rooms were very clean which is something I always look out for. The only downside was the location. Everything is walkable and not too far so it’s not a big deal but it’s on quite a busy road so wouldn’t be great if you have kids.

Realy nice place, close to the street but very quiet. Nicely furnished, clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Massages are offered.
excellent value for money, that in this area is hard to find. Nothing to complain, only the breakfast its a little bit overpriced.

Over rated hotel had a room on first floor view on back side of massage salon with 2 very noisy aircon units and next to elevator, lot of noise from guests and staf,
basic room with tiny tv.
Not worth your money, friends had a room on 4th floor little better but still overpriced.
People mention the friendly staff, well i didn t find them.
dissapointing place.

What you see ( on the site) is not what you get. We booked 5 garden view superior rooms. But their idea of a garden seems to be 1 Flower pot and a wall one meter from the balcony. On our protest they suggested another room which wasn't any better. Also close to a noisy road. Far from the beach

Stayed here for 5 days leaving on 05/12/2017. Loved this small hotel for what we paid, very nice room, pool and grounds. Also a great breakfast. The only thing that let this place down was a miserable looking woman on the front desk (not the nice petite lady). To sum her up she did not even speak when we checked out, just got on her radio to get someone to check or prepare the room for the next visitors. Would we stay again? no, just because of her hospitality, otherwise yes.

My husband and I loved this place. We stayed here twice. The first time we stayed in the more expensive room which was huge and had several rooms. The second time we stayed in a cheaper room which was even nicer, modern, clean, quiet aircon. The pool was amazing with its own jacuzzi section and I usually ordered lunch from the restaurant to eat at the pool. The thai food was excellent. For me the location was great, peaceful and only 5 mins to a lovely beach. I had problems with losing a credit card (which I later found) but the staff were so helpful in looking for it with me.Good laundry service. This would be my first choice of hotel in the area.

Okay, so I will concede that this hotel is very cheap. That being said, that does not justify how terrible this place is. My friends and I have been traveling through SE Asia and staying in budget hotels but nothing has come close to this bad.

Just a few reasons why:

1. Lack of cleanliness. There are stains everywhere... on the curtains, on the sheets, on the towels... yuck.

2. Bugs. Enough said...

3. Rude staff. The hotel staff was incredibly rude, and one morning when the power was out they made the situation worse through their inhospitable manners.

Additionally, when we asked to book tickets to phi phi, we were told to come back the next day by which time the boat we wanted to take (for the day after) was sold out. Even when they did sell us tickets, it was an incredibly frustrating experience.

4. Wifi. Sometimes I couldn't even connect... if I could the internet was slow... and there are too many different networks with different passwords that it's almost a puzzle figuring out which password to use!

5. Breakfast is included, but if you don't finish everything on your plate they will charge you 500 baht...

6. Hope you don't mind your toilet in your shower...

We stayed with a group of friends in this hotel for few days and we had a great time.
The bungalows are clean and well maintained. There are trees all around so you are really separated from the noise and busy streets.
We spent hours in the swimming pool relaxing and enjoying the sun. The beach and city center are about 5-10 min walk from the hotel.
The hotel staff was really nice for us, they always tried to help even if their English wasn't perfect.
They also called for us the hotel in Ao Nang and helped us with the reservation.
Overall great experience, we will definitely come back if we're around Phuket again.

Staff have limited english - didn't cause a huge issue. Wifi was not the best. Our room was very nice, and breakfast was lovely. The restaurant had good food, we particularly liked the stir fried noodles - they were amazing. The pool was nice, though the beds and parasols are in need of an update! The location is great if you're after a quiet and relaxing holiday away from the manic Patong.
