The Goulielmos Hotel is a small family-run hotel located in one of the most beautiful positions on the caldera rim of Santorini. It features 27 spacious rooms with all modern comforts and a shared swimming pool overlooking the volcano. A small road leads to a beautiful, and uncrowded small beach just below the hotel. The Hotel’s Restaurant “THE EDGE” offers a unique Greek, Mediterranean cuisine with authentic Santorini flavors. Booked 12 nights for me and my wife as part of our 25th wedding anniversary celebrations. Communication with hotel and myself was excellent. Dimitra, went above and beyond to help me surprise my wife with flowers and champagne in our room, but also gave us an upgraded room which we were not expecting. The hotel has spectacular views of the Caldera, including Fira and Oia. These views can be appreciated from the pool area, restaurant and terrace.
The room was lovely and fresh, with a very large double bed including all other amenities, iron, safe, air con etc... on occasions the bed was dressed in towel decorations, which really pleased my wife.
The staff at Goulielmos Hotel, couldn't do enough for you, nothing was to much trouble. The food from breakfast to evening meal was delicious, even the poolside menu!! Due to covid, the breakfast was pre ordered the night before, you needed to be mindful not to order to much, felt guilty sending things back that we'd left, it's a balancing act for guest and hoteliers!
On the mention of Covid, we couldn't fault the hotels attempt to keep everyone safe and all ares well sanitised.
The hotel is just a short walk to Akrotiri village, here you'll find other restaurants to taste delicious Greek dishes.
We would very much recommend the Goulielmos Hotel for a holiday in Santorini.

We had the most amazing week staying here. Every single member of staff was amazing from checking in to checking out.
When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely welcome basket in the room. The pool rooms are amazing with all the amenities you could need.
The highlight of staying here is definitely the breakfast. Whatever and however much you wish off the menu including champagne, poached eggs, pancakes, all sorts of amazing things. Served either in your room with an amazing view of the caldera or in the restaurant with an equally lush view of the caldera.
The house keeping is second to none. The attention to detail cleaning the rooms is incredible, even tidying up your charger cables!
The reception will organise drivers, quad and car rental and just about anything else you could possibly need.
When we stayed it was extremely windy which seems to be an Akrotiri thing as the rest of the island didn’t seem as windy. Nothing the hotel can do about that though. There is a mini mart less than 5 minutes walk and the village of Akrotiri with restaurants and cafes is 10 minutes. If you really fancy a stroll red beach is 25 minutes walk and you can get a boat to red, white and black beach for just €10.

We were greeted for check in with a deliciously chilled glass of fruit juice and were able to check in with their QR code online. Dimitra, the front desk manager, was efficient, knowledgeable and kind. She provided us with a map of the island and gave us a few suggestions for beaches and dinner. The breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had, their pancakes are delicious and so is the fruit plate and coffee. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We really were treated with so much kindness, as silver hotels.com members we even received a room upgrade without asking. We came back late to the hotel after dinner and Dimitra was working, the next morning she was working and even in the evening she was making sure the hotel was running smoothly!

We had the most fantastic stay at the Goulielmos hotel. Our room had its own courtyard at the back of the hotel which in the afternoon was a sun trap(if you needed more sun that is ). On most days we had the pool area to ourselves and had the peaceful piped music coming through which was enough just to relax to. The staff were amazing and tended to any of our needs. Breakfast menus were filled in the night before and were presented beautifully in the morning. Our main server Angel was just that, and always with a wonderful smile. The girls in reception we very attentive and advised on busses, trips, and restaurants. Fany you went over and above on our stay thank you. I did speak with the owner and complimented him on his beautiful hotel and his wonderful staff and he was very pleased. I would choose this hotel in a heartbeat, it was such a great stay. We stayed in a junior suite with private plunge pool for 5 nights and could not fault a thing! The room was ample big enough and immaculate. There was the option to choose your breakfast from the menu everyday and have it delivered to your room the following morning, this was an added bonus! The staff were very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. They arranged multiple transfers for us (at an extra cost) which was never a problem for them. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in a quieter location with the perfect Caldera view!

We traveled to this hotel in May 2022 with the understanding from a trip advisor that it was a “luxury” hotel with excellent sunset views… this wasn’t the case. We really liked that Goulielmos was family owned, had great service and was spotlessly clean but that was about it. The hotel is a bit dated (specifically the bathroom - our door wouldn’t even open all the way & the horribly hard bed/pillows), really isn’t in the best location for travelers, specifically honeymooners like us, looking to enjoy the Santorini sunsets together and really didn’t have great sunset views. I should however say we were a bit spoiled after 5 nights in Fira with a Caldera view hotel. Goulielmos is in a bit of a quite town with few food choices and a very limited selection of shops. If you are traveling to Santorini on a budget and are looking for a clean hotel with friendly service, Goulielmos will do the job! If you are looking for a luxury hotel with sunset views and dining options you may want to look elsewhere.

On the other hand it makes us really happy to know that you enjoyed our high quality services that we daily offer to all of our guests! Kindly note that all our bathrooms are constructed according to the traditional Cycladic architecture which is also a part of our local culture. Furthermore, all our mattresses and pillows have been chosen with a medium hardness in order to satisfy the needs of all our guests. Regarding your comment about our location, we would like to point out that Akrotiri is indeed a caldera view quiet town only 15 minutes away by car from the crowded Fira and close to all the nice and famous beaches of the island. According to the experience of our previous guests, they love spending their time in a calm and peaceful environment that also offers them a lot of restaurant options in the main square of Akrotiri (only 5 minutes away by foot from our hotel) or around the area of Akrotiri in a walkable distance Last but not least, please note that Akrotiri is the south part of Santorini well known for the spectacular views to the sunset that is also visible from our Hotel and our guests love to capture in a photograph every day! Unfortunately, during the days of your stay, the weather was cloudy and rainy and prevented you from enjoying the world famous sunsets of Santorini, but as much as we try to fulfill the wishes of our guests, the weather is the only thing that we are not able change! My mum and I stayed here in a gorgeous Caldera room with plunge pool, the room really was so elegant and we have never experienced such stunning views from a room/balcony - it looks over the Caldera and is incredible from morning right until sunset.
Every single staff member could not have done more for us during our 8 days, they go above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing - from the beautiful champagne breakfast in the morning delivered to the room (it is like a banquet!!) to cleaning the rooms until they are spotless every day.
One of our favourite things about this hotel is the location, before arriving we were worried we were too far from Fira/Oia (there is a bus that takes 20 mins from outside the hotel) but we realised we actually preferred to be away from the tourist areas, the hotel is a short 5/10 mins walk into a lovely village Akrotiri, which has around 6 restaurants with lovely local food and wine and a few small shops, we ended up spending 4 nights out of 8 here.
This family run hotel really do make your stay here unforgettable, we will definitely be returning and recommending to all of our friends - thank you so much!!

An incredible find, the room was amazing without a lovely terrace and it’s own pool. Room service is free and having breakfast outside each morning was a delight. The food is incredible, locally sourced and suggested. The service is out of this world and so friendly, they couldn’t do enough to help us with anything. Best experience overall ever, above many 5* hotels we’ve stayed in, including Dubai.

We recently spent a week at this hotel and it was amazing! I’ll start with what some people would call negatives but more general observations. The Superior Caldera View rooms are small & the balcony offers little if any shade. You must order your breakfast the night before. Edge restaurant on an evening has a small menu if your stay is over 2-3 nights.
Right, now the good stuff! Views are unreal, sunset is unbelievable and everything at this hotel was clean and beautifully kept. It also has a great pool area for those staying in rooms with no pool. Staff…. They make your holiday! The BEST hotel staff I have ever come across anywhere in the world! Vasili Maria Giorgios Thomas Paris Kaliroi Natalia Fotini Elli Kostas Dimitri Cleaners & pool/maintenance team. Apologies if I’ve missed anyone. You ALL made our holiday amazing and we thank you for everything!!
Rooms with a private pool are a must. We upgraded and this took our holiday to the next level. (I may never be able to holiday again without one) Breakfast choice (included) and lunch menu (reasonably priced) are superb. (Cocktail & wine/beer options are also great) Edge restaurant is beautiful, the food was fantastic! We ate there on several nights but also ventured into Akrotiri on a couple of occasions and the food there was also very good if you don’t always want fine dining every night. We booked the boat tour (volcano, hot springs, island stop) via the hotel (this can be busy and the hot springs are warm at best) but definitely worth a 1/2 day out. We went to the Akrotiri ruins which was worth every penny and a day in Fira (very busy) is a must, we went via private transfer but buses are regular.
I didn’t want to leave this hotel, or the staff behind! Santorini is a wonderful place but this hotel has changed my mantra of never holidaying in the same place twice…. Hope to see all the staff again when we next book! Thank you all for making our holiday so special! Nick & Katie (room 24/30)

Services are really good, the restaurant is great and the breakfast ... no word. You can rent a vehicle directly from the hotel, and have all kind of information (included PCR test recommendation/price). Of course, we recommend this hotel !!!

Hi. I rented a car, so can't help you on Taxi cost, but try to contact Hotel reception, they are really nice and friendly.
I can confirm hotel provide pool towels. Regarding "cruise of some sort", we have done a sunset cruise (that started at lunch time) booked at sailing-santorini website. We enjoyed it. Besides visiting Fira and Oia, in Akrotiri, not far from hotel, there is the "akrotiri archaeological site" that was a very nice surprise for us. For nice places for dinner, have a word at hotel reception, they will book you up.
