Oyama Lake Eco Lodge is situated on a volcanic lake with 27 islands, 15 cabin rentals, as well as a few camping sites. Stay the night or come up for the day and rent a boat. We offer canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, paddle boards, motorized fishing boats as well as lager pontoon boats. Oyama lake is great for fly fishing, trolling behind a boat, swimming, relaxing or exploring. Three of our cabins come with private washrooms, however, there is also a shared ladies powder room and a shower house on-site. All cabins have their own fire-pit as well as access to a communal BBQ area. There is a small store on-site, but it is recommended that you bring up your own food and water. We are located 20 minutes up a logging road from the town of Oyama. Hope to see you soon!

This gem is the best place to disconnect! This vacation was well overdue from working 60-70 hrs a week. The rustic eco lodge was a great place to relax and unwind. Great owner/staff and beautiful lake! Please go to the website and read so there’s no surprises for you. Cabins are equipped with dishes, pots, a dish towels, and a dish cloth. Cabins have mattresses with a sheet on it, on the website they tell you to bring your own bedding or you can rent them. Some cabins come with a barbecue and some only come with fire pits; there’s a barbecue in the common area for use. Some cabins come with a shower and bathrooms, some don’t. The point here is read the description for every cabin. If you want all the amenities rent a cabin with everything, you have a choice. The road up to the eco lodge is pretty rough, go slow and you’ll be fine. The owner does not have control over the road, it’s unmaintained, BC parks own the road.

We will be coming back for sure…maybe for an art retreat! Had a wonderful time there because it was quiet, beautiful, and Nickie, Harry, and the staff were fantastic! Thank you guys!

I can’t say enough about how amazing the staff are here!
Circumstances out of my control made me stranded at the lodge for 7 extra days after my week long booking and it’s unreal how amazing everyone was. Since I wasn’t expected to be there longer and my cabin was booked after my stay, I was pretty stressed about everything.

The staff made sure I had a place to stay, shared food, offered rides, and welcomed me in their community, treating me as a friend and being so hospitable. The stress from my situation melted away with their diligent care.

The owner is absolutely lovely and goes above and beyond for everyone whenever possible. She’s a real gem who truly cares about the customers.

By the time I was able to leave I didn’t even want to!

Not all of the staff speak english as their first language but they do all speak English and admirably they do everything they can to connect and make you comfortable in whatever way they can!

There are a group of dogs that live there and belong to the owners/staff and they are so cute and wonderful and well behaved.

I’ll come back again and again. Couldn’t have had a better experience after such a devastating circumstance being stranded. A+ staff and environment and such cute, unique and comfy cabins.

I'm a nature lover and I needed a place to reset from all pandemic and busy lives. All the family needed this perfect quiet and calm place. If you need the smell of trees, the calm noise of a lake, and a comfortable cabin this is the spot. We spent 5 nights not having cell services and calm nights gave us family quality time playing games at the cabin. The road up is a whole experience but it is worth it, you don't want to come down in a while :D. We rented a boat for fishing 3 mornings with the company of a bald eagle one day and another day a deer was peaking on us. The music of the loons while finishing was amazing!!!. My boys found what to do always around the cabin even making friends with the chipmunks. I recommend this place for being in nature loves and connect with yourself and amazing people.

Gave up four nights of prepayment because one night was more than enough. The website says the road is rough, but it is truly terrible - do not attempt it without a pick-up or SUV and serious tires. Had planned to visit with family at the lake, but none of them could have made the road. We had no heads up on the lack of cell service. Our cabin was meant to have hot water and power, but no hot water and the power shut off throughout the night so the fridge did not stay cold enough to safely store the food we brought. The generator next door was very loud on and off in the night so we could not sleep properly. Guests are required to clean when they leave - not ideal in a pandemic and the guests before us hadn’t made much effort. Our cabin smelled of propane, and had nothing in it to light the stove for coffee after such a poor night. It was also not safe for kids with loose rungs on the ladders to the loft. There were too many issues for us to even try making it work and still enjoy our holiday. It would be best if the website properly reflected the reality so people can be prepared.

We had a great trip to Oyama Lake…our 12th annual! The staff is always great but I wanted to relay this one story that sums up we go every year. When we set up our fishing boat (our own boat…not the resort’s) we realized that our spark plugs were no longer functioning and our motor wouldn’t run. We checked in at the office, on the off chance that they sold such a thing, but fully expecting to have to rent a boat. Nickie, the owner, phoned one of the staff who was in town getting supplies, and he went to a store, bought plugs for us, and delivered them to our deck! So amazing! Her response was, “Well we have keep you coming back!” :). You know we will!!! Love this place! Can’t say enough about it.

I have been to this resort at least 6 times it is truly one of my favourite places in the world. It’s a magical place with its scenery, people, wildlife and vibe. This place is meant to disconnect you from the conveniences and busy-ness of modern day life. The hosts are two of the kindest, funnest and wonderful people I know. To access a remote place like this expect a fun bumpy ride up the mountain. Leave the Mercedes behind and bring the truck. I have been here in every season, winter being my favourite. Being cozied up by the fire, drinking hot coco while the wind blows over the frozen lake. Although summer is equally as amazing- swimming, bbq, campfires and fishing being my highlights. Some of my favourite memories are here. I have come with my husband and son but also with friends. Don’t expect a fancy experience, this isn’t meant for that. It’s meant for you to disconnect, get back to earth and reconnect with nature. That’s my favourite part of it. I have stayed in many of the cabins and found them clean, cute, fully equipped. Some with bathrooms and some without. Some very rustic some on the higher end side. I love both equally. I have plans to return this summer and again in the fall. Let’s be honest probably in the winter as well. I will continue coming here as long as the amazing hosts own it.

Yes the road in was quite rough.
Getting into the cabin we were a little shocked at how rustic it was. The door was a bit tricky to open. It was not equipped with a lock. Not all the cabins had picnic tables. The floor in the cabin was definitely not cleanable. We brought our own bedding. So glad we did. And as we put our sheets on the bed we nearly sank into an abyss. The shower is best to wear your shoes.
There isn’t much of a beach for family or kids to hang out on.
Yes. The lake is beautiful. Was some cool big out door games to play.
Hard to find staff. No cell service. We didn’t know where to wash our dishes.

Very quiet escape to nature. Great staff, activities and games to keep the kids busy. The stars are amazing at night. Dirt road up to the resort is no big deal so long as you take it slow - at least in summer! We would return.

Wow, the trip started by driving up a road that takes 45 minutes to drive 15 km. The road is washed out everywhere. Don't let the pictures fool you, this place is a dump. The cabins are as comfortable as a cardboard box. The beds are made of whatever scrap wood they could find to hammer together. They will rent you an 8 person cabin for $175 a night but you pay extra for every person if there is more than 4 people. Lights are shut off at 11:00 pm. You are not allowed any electrical plugged in appliances or anything. Bring you own bedding, portable lights and even toilet paper. They charge the price of an expensive hotel room, but, if you don't keep the place before leaving, they charge $35 dollars to you credit card. You can rent a 10 person pontoon boat for a for a steep price, but, they only allow you to have 4 people on it. If you have a boat with more than 10 horsepower, they don't allow it, but, their personal boat that they use has a 40 horse. There is no beach, but, they call the boat lanch a beach. There are dogs barking all night long and dog crap everywhere. The fishing is so bad there, we had a lake front cabin and talked to everyone that was fishing this weekend and only talked to 2 people that caught one fish each, both were under 5 inches. I would never go back to this dump again.

Hi wanted to know about the logging road up is it ok for a car to travel it?
Answer from Nickie B

Hello there, 4x4 is definitely the recommended choice. Many people make it up in a regular car. Some come up smiling and some come up looking pretty rattled lol. Hope that helps :P (So far I have seen an Audi, BMW, and a smart car make it up)
