Enjoyed the new decor and beautiful view. Went on a Wednesday, wasn’t overly busy.Found the hostess to be a bit snooty, bordering on eye rolling , but our waitress seemed new , but was excellent. We each ordered fish & chips and a bowl of chowder, our soup arrived on same plate , same time, as our fish. No chips , but we assumed we had accidentally ordered a fish & soup combo. It was a bit of a wait. Meal was ok, soup was flavourful. When we got our bill at the end of meal, we saw that we did pay for fish & chips $17 ( kind of expensive for a single piece of fish without chips)in addition to the soup . We did not point this out to previously mentioned hostess when we paid our bill. Cocktails were very good as well.

Thank you Donna for your review. We value everyone that takes the time to review our Restaurant and has a vested interest in our success. It is very common for people to substitute French fries with soup and I am sure it was a misunderstanding. If you would have paid for the fish and chips and soup on the side the price would have been $23, therefore is sounds like your were charge the correct price. All our reviews are read and reviewed for learning purposes so thank you again.

This complex is in a prime location on Hecla Island. It has very modest, clean motel rooms with a lovely deck facing the lake, but might be a little pricy for this type of accommodation. However, there is a lot to do from here with hiking trails and fishing off the dock etc. The food in the adjoining restaurant was excellent and the waiters were so friendly yet professional. Easily a 5 star restaurant. However, one problem took away all the positives of our stay. The hot water tank definitely needs to have the rod changed or the whole unit replaced as the stench from the hot water was almost enough to make us I’ll. We had to leave a window open and the bathroom fan on all night to be able to tolerate the smell in the room. When we, along with three other couples complained to the management the next morning, we were told that they were aware of the problem and they were probably going to change the hot water tank. There was no apology nor any offer of a credit towards our stay for this horrible situation. You were afraid to have a shower in this stench. At the very least they should have warned us about this problem before we registered and paid for our rooms as this would have given us a chance to decide whether the room would be acceptable or whether we would decide to try elsewhere.

Had an amazing time! 2 days 2 nights. As an inexperienced fishing person my partner and I enjoyed a day on the ice in a snowbear( a heated enclosed skidoo). Later that day we were treated to a fish fry of our catch. Accommodations were clean and amenities were close by. Enjoyed our stay. You will too!

We went in for dinner the other night, the food was good but that was about it. The service was pretty awful, it took about 15 minutes for the server to come to our table and take our orders and then another 45 to recieve our dinner and then another 20 for our dessert. There was only about 3 other groups in the restaurant, and there was 3 servers working. Clearly there is no sense of urgency with the kitchen or the serving staff. We had to ask for cutlery and condiments more than once as well. I was extremely disappointed in how the staff were following COVID-19 guidelines as well. One server had her mask below her nose the entire time we were there and another had it pulled down entirely off her face when she was bussing the table right next to us! The kitchen staff were coming out of the kitchen with no masks on and walking around the restaurant and standing behind the bar maskless. The servers were also maskless behind the bar which is in clear view of all of the indoor tables. For how long we have been following these rules it's pretty ridiculous and completely unacceptable that the staff here are not complying. I wouldn't come here again.

Visited the Gull Harbour Marina and Lighthouse Inn for a walkaround, photos and dinner at the Inn restaurant. Location is very scenic with lots of people fishing off the jetty, boats coming and going and a wide variety of birdlife including gulls, pelicans, cormorants and eagles doing their thing. The Inn is a short walk from other island attractions either by car or connecting walking trails.
The restaurant has a diverse menu of what I would classify as upscale pub food with a local flair - local fish, meat and produce are used in the ingredients. Our group had the burger, pickerel burger, fish tacos and pickerel and chips.
Restaurant and Inn appears to have completed recent renovations and has indoor seating, semi enclosed patio and outdoor patio decorated in a maritime motif.
We received quick and friendly service from the wait staff.
All in all a very pleasant dining experience. We will definitely stop in on our next visit to Hecla Island.

A large group of us were up for a golf weekend, and the restaurant was recommended for the food. The food was terrific! The service was beyond brutal. Ordered food, it took 2.5 hours to feed 11 guys and 25 minutes to just pay the bill. We didn't have enough cutlery at the table for everyone, some of the guys had to eat their salad with the toothpicks from the club sandwiches. I called the waitress over to ask about and she laughed at the guys trying to eat their salad like that and said it was hilarious. She said she would look into it, and poof vanished. Never did get cutlery. Horrible dining experience, but if you can tolerate the pain food was solid.

Our group had a couple of rooms in the 6 plex unit. While the room itself is acceptable, there is an extremely strong sulfur smell originating from the hot water system that permeates the room. Even with the bathroom and bedroom windows open all day, the smell was overpowering. We also ran the bathroom fan when we away from the room. Apparently the smell is caused by the stink rod in their cistern. Also, we were not aware until our arrival that the restaurant was not serving breakfast. There is a coffee maker and microwave in the room but the store has very limited stock. The area is very picturesque and there are several good walking trails nearby.

What a fantastic get away! Perfect cabin room with an outdoor deck and a beautiful view of the lake. Rooms were spotless and incredibly comfortable. There was even a private beach out front of our cabin with soft white sand where we were able to hunt for rocks and appreciate butterflies and beautiful birds. Because of Covid restrictions we were unable to dine in, but the beer battered fish and chips for take-out was out of this world! A big shout out to our server Jane, she was super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive… I would go back for the Caesar alone!

All of the staff that we have had the pleasure of interacting with have been fantastic. The food in the restaurant is delicious. My 4 year old says the chicken strips are the best he has ever had and he would know.
I give credit where credit is due, and there was one staff member that went above and beyond. You are very lucky to have Chyna as a member of your team. She embodies what I would want in a member of my team. She was quick to provide assistance when it was required and went out of her to help me(someone she had never met).
I thought it was important that you understand just how lucky you are to have her (I am sure you already do) and what a great representation of your establishment she is.
Looking forward to staying with you in the future.

We offer food and beverages in our restaurant and lounge and our sunset patio. 3 meals per day are available and menus are presented when guests arrive.
Sorry I don't currently have a map but the golf course is very near by. An occasion slip can be rented for $20 per day and we could likely give you a lift to the course on a future visit.
