I love this hotel. If you want a laid back affordable and clean place ON THE BEACH this is a great choice. The crown is that the entire staff is attentive, accommodating, and lovely. I just finished my second stay there and the manager, Roxanna, again treated me like family. The rooms aren’t fancy but they are well cared for and the beds are super comfortable. The grounds are well cared for and there is an attached restaurant that overlooks the beach. My one wish is that my room had a mini-refrigerator as the tap water gets warm depending on the time of day. My plan this trip was to stay 3 nights and then move south to explore. I ended up staying the entire week at the hotel. Playa Brasilito is a beautiful beach and a nice walk to Playa Conchal which is one of CR’s most beautiful beaches.
and I do wish they had mini fridges Can’t say enough

This is a great place to stay in the Guanacaste area if you are okay with a little more walking and driving around. There is a restaurant on the property with no lines, good customer service staff and good Tico food at a great price. Breakfast was included for at least one day.
It is a half-mile to .75 Playa Conchal and one of the best spots in the entire Guanacaste.
We went to Playa Grande, Las Catalina, Playa Puerto and the middle of Conchal was the beautiful of them all, in my opinion.
Hotel Brasilito also has hot water in the shower, comfortable rooms, a pool and hammocks to rest in with the sound of the ocean.
We also drove to see the sunset but it only took 15 minutes to Las Catalina area or Playa Flamingo.
It was great for us.

Hotel Conchal is a great little boutique style hotel and is family owned and operated. My wife loved this little colorful slice of heaven. They served breakfast for two on a small table on the porch outside our room with the freshest cheese, milk, juice and fruits you ever tasted in your life. It’s a small quiet place, not for the partying type. The hotel is set in lush tropical gardens with fruit trees, palms, and exotic wildlife, and is only a short walk from Playa Brasilito.
Brasilito, a lively, rough-around-the edges town with local flair rather than a touristy vibe. You can access Playa Conchal by walking to Playa Brasilito, which is a less-traveled stretch of shoreline that's popular with locals. Great little town and beach always felt safe not overcrowded.

The location is awesome, at the beach and at a soda, and naar Playa Conchal, but the breakfast is like jail food, it's just bread and butter from a dirty cup and that's it. Oh and milk and papaya, but not the fruits they promise, they also let you sign a paper to use the breakfast so you don't get a refund. People in the hotel went to the supermarket on the corner to buy ham and cheese.
The place is opposite 2 very loud bars. One looks like a drugs place and a guy was bleeding very very bad at his neck, think he ended up in a fight.
The bed was bad and cracky, the room was very noisy and we slept really bad of all the music, (drunk) people, lot's of roosters going on for hours.
We stayed just one night, just to go to Playa Conchal which was very beautiful! We are backpackers so it's was oké, but never again!!

This is a small hotel in the little plaza area of Brasilito, steps from the beach. The staff were delightful. The room was very affordable and came with 2 free drinks and free breakfast. The grounds are the best part. The pool was clean and lovely, the restaurant area is very comfortable, and there are hammocks and shady seating areas all around. The food was meh. We had a great supper across the road at the fish place for less than 1/2 the cost and our lunch at the hotel was not good. The incredibly loud music from the bar across the street (about 20 years from our room) was horribly obnoxious and didn't stop until midnight. The parking is a little dicey. There are four, very small spaces available on the property, but getting to the hotel (in the traffic circle) you are pretty bombarded by locals who are self-proclaimed parking "attendants". They will aggressively hit you up for money and assign you a space on the street.

Elizabeth, Thank you for your review of our place. Happy you enjoyed your stay and the staff was great. Of course we do disagree with your opinion of the restaurant food. Most people find it delicious. My guess is you did not try the pargo. Next time.

The food, the waiters, the location. It was nice to step out of what we know and try something different. we are glad we did & we will return.
The price was right and service was great :)
We live in the area and also run a restaurant, we love to try new spots and support other businesses.
Thank you.

If you are looking for an authentic Costa Rica experience this place is it! We stayed in the ocean front room. It was clean and had amazing AC. There is monkeys right off the porch to the left along with roosters, dogs, and cats. It is a bit noisy but never bothered us, it's all a part of the experience. Great location between Playa Conchal and Playa Flamingo. We did a day pass to the WestIn (130$ per adult drinks/food included) but you could also walk to Conchal(15 min). DO NOT try to enter from the beach to WestIn they will make you walk all the way back and take a Taxi to the lobby. Patagonias is a short walk if you are looking for American food for kids or a great place to cool down at the pool while you wait for your room to be ready. My only complaint at Hotel Brasilito was the restaurant never had customers which made us hesitant to eat there. Overall a fantastic 3 day experience.

This is NOT a resort. This is really 1 step up from a hostel. It is an inexpensive hotel, near (NOT directly on) the beach. Staff is very nice, and attentive.
There is a small, but frequently traveled, road between the hotel and the beach. Also, there is a very loud club/bar just on the other side of that road, which plays music very loudly from Noon until Midnight or later, every night. There are also roosters in the unkempt lot next door, which start crowing around 2:00am. There are no beach amenities provided (lounge chairs, etc.). The "secure parking" consists of 4 spaces, with a piece of chain hung behind the cars. If you don't get one of these 4 spots, you're stuck parking on the road.
There are a lot of stray dogs and cats on, and around the property.
The restaurant downstairs (Pacific Palms) is good, but overpriced (fish and chips + burger w/ fries, and 2 frozen drinks = $52USD).
The surrounding town, Playa Brasilito, is an authentic, average, Costa Rican town. Good, local restaurants and shops. It's located in between 2 resort towns (Playa Conchal, and Playa Flamingo), so there's easy access to a lot of activities. We never felt unsafe in the area. All of the local "Ticos" were very friendly!
A 12-15 minute walk south along the beach will put you right on the fabulous Playa Conchal beach, where you will find a lot of the resort-like beach amenities (cabana/lounge chair rentals, frozen drinks delivered to you, etc).
Please understand, I do not intend for this to be a negative review. Hotel Brasilito "is what it is." A no-frills, budget friendly hotel, near the beach. I just want others to be able to make an educated decision about the property.

The hotel is a bit run-down, but so is the whole area - the view of the ocean is wonderful, but the water is not good for swimming. Beautiful Conchal beach is a 10 min walk and worth the walk. I wouldn't swim in the beach at Brasilito. The gem of the hotel are the two 2nd floor rooms (A & B) with great view & private terrace. I wouldn't bother to stay in any other room. We stayed in room 10 for one night - it was tiny, 1st floor, next to pool which featured noisy folks and behind the room was some private home that had loud music and with the walls so thin, it sounded like they were in the room. I suspect room 8 and 6 would be the same. Also, be careful about booking. you really want rooms A & B on the 2nd floor with the great view and terrace. But twice, oops, they screwed up the reservation and we stayed in lousy room 10.

This hotel is near the Playa Brasilito in the Guanacaste Province and very close to the town proper. If you're coming from outside CR, the nearest airport is the Liberia airport or also named Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport. The hotel is very spartan and don't expect a hotel experience. The mattresses are hard and the bathroom is small. The receptionist has a pleasing Purrsonality.

marinaquinola@gmail.com asked a question Jan 2017
Bremerton, Washington4 contributions4 helpful votesHow easy is it to get a ride from this hotel back to the airport in Liberia and how much does it usually cost?
The hotel can arrange for shuttle pick in advance. The cost is about $50.00 for two people provided your flight does not get in after 9pm. Please contact us directly for this service. A taxi from the airport to the hotel can range between $75.00 to $90.00.
No they don't but they're right along the beach
Sorry for the late reply. Bring cash cause yes the card charges really add up in the end.
Hi Karen,
Bring small bills in dollars but you will need some local currency for local shopping or eating, I would exchange that at the airport in CR.
I flew from San Jose so I don't know about transportation, I also rented a car to get around.
There might be buses but if you take a taxi make sure to negotiate the price in advance.
