Built in 2004 within a ten hectare lush tropical garden on a three hundred metre long beach, the Pandanus Resort in Mui Ne has a large range of facilities and a variety of different accommodations, all designed to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Adjacent to the long, sandy beach is a huge free-form pool, surrounding an island covered with coconut palm trees. The buildings are designed to complement, not compete with the natural surroundings. The beach is serene and disturbed only by an occasional fisherman in a round pitch basket, or a wind and kite surfer.

This is a great resort at a reasonable price. The service is excellent. The landscaping is gorgeous, the staff is always meticulously maintaining the charm of the gardens. For such a windy area, I hardly saw any leaves littering the grounds. The hotel upgraded us when room rates suddenly dropped due to lack of travel demand at this time. We had a non-refundable rate so it was a very nice gesture for them to do so. I saw some negative reviews about the food prices of the resort restaurants but honestly it’s very reasonable for a resort of this caliber and the food is generally good. The free breakfast buffet is excellent and we will surely miss this every morning. I’ve been to beach resorts like this all over the Caribbean, Central America, etc. and there the food is much more expensive than Pandanus. If there is any improvement to recommend to the hotel - it would be to revise the drop off location of the shuttle service to have more stops along Ham Tien strip, we found ourselves walking very far to reach more local restaurants, then running back to catch the only shuttle bus going back. Another general comment is specifically about the seafood preparation in this town, there’s a ton of fresh seafood being caught every morning, but the restaurants here do not maximize it by grilling it with flavor. Went to several restaurants, including the resort’s: there’s just not enough salt, not enough flame, grill seafood should have char marks. Please learn from Portugal.

This was my 2nd visit and I was a little concerned as I knew the resort had expanded since June 2019. But my concerns were not met at all. This is a resort that not only knows how to look after its customers but also to expand and improve an already perfect place. Now with 2 excellent pools, still huge quiet and beautiful gardens, great beach and such pleasant staff. It is just a perfect resort.

The customer care is 10/10. At breakfast, which has a buffet of so many choices, you will see customer service people talking with customers ensuring everyone is happy.

We had a squirrel in our roof space ( the beauty of being in such a natural resort) At breakfast we just mentioned it, more worried it may damage the property than annoy us, but by the time we were back they had sorted the problem, removed the squirrel and sealed the entrance.

I 100% recommend this resort and congratulate all on making its so perfect

Pandanus is a very nice resort. It felt unusually empty during our early January visit, but I think it must simply be the slow season as there are tons of new hotels/resorts being built in the area.

The resort itself is beautiful and very well kept. There were very small imperfections here and there, but I'd expect that from even the nicest hotels.

We stayed in the "executive suite" with what I'd describe as 1.5 bedrooms. There was a master suite with a double bed and private bathroom, and adjacent to the living room there was another less private room with two twin beds, and another bathroom near the front door. Perfect for families.

The staff was excellent and most spoke at least some English. Special shout out to Dai - she was super helpful explaining with letting us know about the area. And beyond that, my son was stung by a jellyfish and she came back several times to check on him, even bringing medicine for him the one time.

The private beach was a very short walk from our room and was rather clean - especially compared to the bordering beaches. There were lots of cute photo spots along the beach, such as a hammock and a swing, both in the water.

Behind the row of lounge chairs, there was a nice little playground, though it's clearly geared towards smaller children.

The one thing I'd like to see changed is that the resort only has one restaurant. The food is pretty good, but it is a bit pricey by local standards....then again it is a resort and so it's not unexpected. The room service menu is nearly identical to the restaurant's menu and so if you stay for a longer period of time, you may run out of things to try.

The breakfast buffet was included and was in the same restaurant we ate dinner in. It had a very nice variety of local and international foods and most everything was very tasty!

The Mui Ne location does leave a little to be desired, but it's just because it's Mui Ne and there's not a lot around there. But, one thing Pandanus does have going for it is that it's only like a 5 minute walk to the red sand dunes, which is one of the area's main attractions. Again, thank you Dai for letting us know it was so close. We got to visit the red sand dunes on our first night thanks to her.

We spent two nights in Ho Chi Minh then two nights at Pandanus. Pandanus cost about $30 USD more than our Ho Chi Minh hotel, but the quality was so much better. We loved Pandanus from the moment we arrived.

I'd recommend this resort to anyone!

Thank you for staying with us and for your kind comments. We will commend Dai and tell her how much you appreciated her assistance. Actually, January is usually the busiest month of the year, but Vietnam has not recovered from the covid pandemic. The number of foreign arrivals since the country reopened almost a year ago is only 20% of the number that arrived in the country in 2019. The percentage of foreign guests at the Pandanus is slightly higher than the percentage in the country overall, but it is nowhere near the number of foreigners we had in the resort in January before covid. Actually, we have two restaurants. Besides our main restaurant, we have an additional restaurant and bar that serves the sunbathers and kite surfers and is located near the Orchid pool, just above the beach. Although our Cafe Blue Lagoon Restaurant is open 24 hours, our Sun Terrace Restaurant is only open between 10:00 and 17:00.

We have spent almost 10 weeks during 2nd half of 2020 in Pandanus resort :) This fact alone says everything about the Resort. The facilities are .
We have trieamazing here. Resort looks like newly build, as they do proper maintenance. The manager and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful all the time.

The Resort itself is truly a place to relax. Lot of flowers, trees etc. We spent most of the time at the pool as it's the best place, just next to the beachd all the different room types, all of the rooms are clean and cosy with nice welcome gift (selection of fruits). The beach front villas are the highlight of course, waking up seeing the sea and the first sun beams.

We have checked literally all other hotels in Mui Ne and have always decided to go to Pandanus as it has the best value for money and excellent facilities.

There are two points I still need to mention on the con side. While the restaurant itself is an outstanding building most of the dishes could use some improvements taste wise as they are just OK for my taste.
2nd point, which is more a problem of the area itself, are these nasty sand flies. Depending on the season there are more or less of them.

I need to leave a personal note as I was reading a review where a child was bitten by one of the "house" cats. There are a couple of them, always hungry but so nice and friendly. They will not harm anyone until they get hurt in any way. Therefore, I don't understand these people which let their small kids play unattended with the cats, hurt them and get bitten.

I highly recommend this Resort to everyone who want some good time in Paradise.

We are currently staying at the Pandanus as I write this review on February 15,2020.

We are traveling in a group of 4 people and if you are looking for a great vacation spot to enjoy the beach and great food this is the place.

Pretty much everything I’d have to rate as 5 star.

Room tip, Room 771 has a great view of the water and seemed like it was brand new.

We are from Canada and normally travel to the Caribbean for our beach vacations but the Pandanus was much more affordable and just as good.

Make sure you go to the Fish market on the morning tour and the stream walk they offer is quite unique.

Thank you for staying with us. We are sorry, however, that your holiday was marred by the mosquitoes in your room. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for the fact that our front office staff member only gave you one option when you called for assistance. Rather than simply suggesting that our housekeeping staff go to your room and spray for mosquitoes, she should have also suggested a change of rooms. Normally, housekeeping will spray a room when it is cleaned, but if the guest opens the doors during the day, there is a possibility that mosquitoes will fly in. Although we are located in the tropics where mosquitoes are prevalent, they are usually not much of a problem here, as the ocean breezes keep most of them away from the beach areas. We have used your post to help train our staff to be more sensitive and to offer more than one solution to a problem.

A beautiful and relaxed hotel on the coastline at Mui Ne. The rooms were spacious (we had a family suite with one bedroom and separated living area from the second sleeping area). Drinking water was provided in every hallway, the hotel grounds were stunning with many plants and flowers. Every staff member was very friendly. There was plenty of space to relax around the pools and the hotel worked hard to offer many trips in the area, including a shuttle to nearby Mui Ne town. We took a cooking class with the chef and it was very well organised, the dishes we learnt to make were very interesting and delicious and at the end of the cooking class my daughter and I had produced enough food for lunch for 4 people. This was really enjoyable. It should be noted that this resort is located on the windy side of the coast where the kite surfing takes place. The beach is clean and well looked after but this is not the place to lay on the beach as it's very windy. At the pool and in the resort gardens it is more sheltered. We highly recommend this location for a short break while exploring Vietnam, especially for families.

The check-in was a nightmare. Only 3 of the 4 rooms were ready upon arrival at 2 pm, and we did not get into our rooms about one hour later. It was hot and humid in the lobby waiting for our rooms. The family Suite room 312 was dirty and the A/C was not cold enough. After complaining, the receptionist agreed to change our room to family suite room 315. After staying in room 315 for a couple of hours, the room smelled of sewage. We notified the front desk of the smell and we agreed to change our room for the third time. We did not get into the third room until 11 pm. By this time, we were completely exhausted. The management gave us two free cocktails and 30 minutes foot massages to make up for the room issues. The mixed drinks at the resort were terrible because the drinks were too sour. However, the breakfast was good with a lot of selections. The quality of the food at the Cafe Blue Lagoon was very good, but pricey. The game room and the gym were outdated and old, and the A/C was off making the game room very hot and humid. The pools were big and clean, however, the beach was dirty with litter in the water. The resort and rooms are dated. We will not be returning to this resort again even though management tried to accommodate us as best as they could. We stayed here for 3 nights.

Thank you for staying with us. We're sorry that your experience was not what you expected, however I would like to respond to some of your comments. Due to the large influx of tourists since the new expressway from Ho Chi Minh City opened a month ago, Pandanus Resort, as well as a number of other resorts in Phan Thiet, changed the check-in time to 15:00 in order to accommodate all of the daily arrivals and departures from local guests who often stay only one night. All of your rooms were available by that time. The odor in the second family suite you were assigned did not come from the air-conditioner, but rather from the drain in the shower. We apologize that our housekeeping staff did not notice it when they cleaned the room. Unfortunately, there were no more family suites available, so we waited until two rooms that adjoined were cleaned to give to you. That was the reason it took so long. Our landscaping staff cleans the beach every morning and our security guards try to pick up anything that washes ashore during the day. However, the local fishermen throw all their refuse from the fishing boats into the water, so it is a constant effort to keep the beach perfectly clean. The entire resort was completely renovated just before covid. Perhaps the Cham style architecture was what made you feel that it was 'dated'. Again, our apologies and we're disappointed that you will not return.

First the positives - grounds well maintained, bungalow was large with outside extra shower, courtesy bus into main strip with extra morning trip to see life in nearby village. Negatives - the hotel is at least 15 minutes away from main strip by bus/car. The nearest village has nothing for tourists. The worst part was the breakfast, worst
we have ever had in a Asian hotel. Never been anywhere that didn't have orange juice or even black tea. When asked staff just told didn't have it. Luckily we had own tea bags but even getting pot of hot water was challenging as most staff had no English. There was little for International guests if didn't want Vietnamese breakfast. There was very little fresh fruit either, considering what we had seen in market there was good quality fruit but not at the hotel. The breakfast room was boiling hot but fans never on even when we asked to be switched on. The reception was also the same with little English spoken again. Information given on arrival was incorrect, such as details of shuttle bus times, what was the point of that?. Didn't try evening menu as others told us poor & expensive. Sun beds were strange with staff constantly moving covers around. As hotel wasn't anywhere near full dread to think how they would cope if hotel full. This hotel does need to decide if it wants to cater for international guests as falls well short currently.

Thank you for staying with us! We apologize if you did not like our breakfast buffet. However, I would like to reply to your comments making it sound as if our buffet offers very few choices. Every morning, we offer either six or seven types of fresh fruit. The types of fruit depend on the season, but we always have fresh watermelon, pineapple, dragon fruit and usually papaya, On our fruit table, we have two types of freshly baked cakes and yogurt. The display next to the fruit and cake table is a vegetable display with eight fresh vegetables, cheese and nuts for people to use to make their own salad, plus one ready-made salad. The next display table has five types of charcuterie and processed meats, plus one dish with pre-made processed meat sandwiches in baguettes. The next display table has nine different types of breads, baguettes and croissants, fresh from our pastry department, plus three types of dry cereal and milk. The row of chafing dishes has ten hot items, including sausage and bacon, pastas and rice dishes, plus two types of soup. Our beverages include two types of tea, changed daily, two types of coffee (Vietnamese and western), two fresh fruit juices, such as papaya juice, dragon fruit juice, passion fruit juice, wintermelon juice, etc., plus fresh lemon juice and fresh water. At our egg cooking station, we offer pancakes, crepes, all types of eggs and omelettes, plus pho or Vietnamese soup. We're sorry that our selection was not sufficient for you. Although the English language ability of our staff is not up to the standards that one might find in a British hotel, it is a stretch to say that they have no English. All staff have to study basic English when they start working for us and the F&B and FO staff study English in classes at the resort three to four times a week. What you call the "breakfast room" is our main open-air restaurant with very high ceilings and seating for over four hundred people. Although there are fans on the ceilings, they are not turned on in the early morning, as that extra breeze would make it feel quite cold for most people that are not acclimated to British winter weather. They are turned on, however, at lunch and dinner time. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "the information given on arrival was incorrect" and "the Sun beds were strange". If you wish to have a response to those issues, please forward a private email to the resort and I will respond.

I loved this resort with beautiful landscapes, beach is clean but they had big waves and high winds while I was there so can’t swim
The staffs were nice and friendly
Breakfast were decent and good, the only suggestion I would give that the broth for noodles were too sweet, it would be hard to fix to people taste, less sweet it would be easier to fix.
They have bikes to lend out for free but we wouldn’t be able to use them because the seats are too high can’t adjusted lower plus they are mountain bikes. I would suggest or wished that they have regular bikes like other resorts
The hotel location is too far from town so you either take taxis or bike there because of the location otherwise I would give 5/5
They do offer shuttle to some places base on schedule and you need to request a day before
There are many mosquitoes so you need to ask for mosquitoes spray two times a day

Thank you for staying with us and for your positive comments about the resort. You made a couple of comments which I would like to clarify. I'm sorry that you were unable to use our bicycles, but the mountain bikes we have for guests to use are a much higher quality and are more expensive than "regular bikes". We had regular bikes before but the quality of local bikes is so bad that they constantly broke. We have very few mosquitoes here. I'm sure that the bites were from sand flies that live in the sand on the beach but are blown into the resort by the wind. We are located just over a kilometer from the market in the middle of Mui Ne, so I'm not quite sure why you say we are "not in town". It's true that the city center of Phan Thiet is quite a distance from the resort and would require a taxi ride of about 30 minutes, but one can literally walk into the middle of Mui Ne in that time. If you are referring to the tourist strip in Ham Tien ward, that is not a town at all, but just a ten kilometer long strip of resorts, restaurants, shops and guest houses on one street with nothing one could call a 'town center'. Thank you, again, for staying with us and we hope you return one day.

The food costs vary depending, of course, on what you order. Breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. The ala carte menu has main course items that range from around US $6.00 to around US $20.00. Of course appetizers, soups and salads are generally less expensive, averaging around $6.00. The prices are generally higher than in restaurants around the Mui Ne area, but they are not exorbitant. FYI, The prices at restaurants in the tourist strip of Ham Tien ward tend to be higher than the prices in Mui Ne.

Phan Thiet, Vietnam1,612 contribution23 helpful votes
If you go to the Pandanus with your dog, we will ask that you leave it at our security station. The security staff will take good care of your pet and will feed it when needed. However, we ask that you do not walk around the grounds with your dog, We do have a few cats in the resort that we allow to stay because the resort is adjacent to a large fishing community. As with any harbor around the world, Mui Ne has rats. The rats will stay away from the resort grounds when they smell cats, so we allow the cats in order to keep the rats from entering our grounds.
