This was a fun experience to do, especially if you have kids. The tour guide we had was first mate Brent. He was very knowledgeable and we learned about the city and the ocean life.
A word of caution, the boat portion of the vehicle does not drive as fast as the truck version, only about 5 miles an hour in the water. Which meant the boat rocked back-and-forth and caused a little bit of seasickness in one of my kids.
Lastly, I would highly recommend booking this tour directly from San Diego Seal tours. I booked through Viator a third-party. While I got a better price. I also got terrible customer service. After I purchased the tickets online, I got the confirmation email and the time I had selected had changed. When I called the company to see if they could change the tour time they informed me I wasn’t calling within the 24 hour cancellation. And there was nothing they could do. I did not want to cancel. I just wanted the timeslot to change. I didn’t even want the date to change. I just needed it later in the afternoon. Their advice to me was to purchase another set of tickets for the correct timeslot that I wanted. Basically I was going to be out $300 for no reason. I called the following morning directly to San Diego seal tours, and they were able to change my time slot. Steven was the representative that helped me and he was extremely helpful and kind.
Overall, this is a fun tour to do with family and friends especially if you’re on vacation. Just don’t use a third-party to book.
