If you can't find parking, the secret is plenty of parking on the weekends at the Bank of America at the corner of 75th, less than half a mile away. The beach and sand are clean, there is a snack vendor close by, and the people are nice. It's all anchored at the Tradewinds Island Grand at St. Pete Beach, and it also advertises all kinds of water activities they offer. The offer for using Floating Water Park has a reasonable fee - per person, per hour. There are proper safety requirements - life jackets are a must, plus the certified lifeguards are on duty.
Floating Water Park is located about 60 feet of the shore line, and it includes slides, climbing rafts, inflatable loungers, splash mats and runways, trampolines, and also a balance beam (for groups to compete).
There's also a huge Freestyle Slide there, but this one is on the beach.
As for Floating Water Park, it is closed from January through mid-March, then it has scheduled hours and days. And of course, its operation highly depends on the weather and water conditions.
Lately, this water park looks somewhat smaller than it used to be. We also had a late lunch at the Chick-fil-A on check in day. There is a CVS, a few other restaurants, UPS store, Swim N Play and a few more. Yvonne and her staff have done a great job curating a delightful collection and I am happy to say I added a new piece to my collection! Bravo!
