- Steve H5 contributionsA great day out - albeit a very early start from Jo’Burg… we had a great guide who was very knowledgable and were very lucky to see lion, elephants, giraffe, white rhino and black rhino! You stay on the road, so the animals have the freedom to disappear into the bush without being relentlessly pursued like in some other safari drives I’ve been on. - nifamily63NI24 contributionsOur holiday was overshadowed by a spell of wintery, wet weather. This tour however lifted our spirits and enabled us to see a good amount of the cape peninsula. Sylvie (the tour guide) and Zeno,the driver (sorry if this is wrong) were both excellent. They were very attentive. Sylvi's knowledge of the area was great and she was able to give us many stories and information in a humorous way.When we could go up Table Mountain (because of the weather) she offered an alternative. Both our tour guides, Ben and tahlia were amazing and did everything they can to make us comfortable and to show us different spots. They were also very accommodating with anyone who needed extra help or concerns. - griffin165Cape Town Central, South Africa25 contributionsIf you are in Cape Town there is really no need to go to JHB for a real Game Drive experience as it is all here at Aquila. It was a bit cold but we had the most stunning Game Drive spotting all the animals and at the end enjoyed a drink under the stars before heading back. On the get go the Elephants came to greet and driving with the lions what an experience. International tourists will enjoy this coupled with Cape Town beaches without having to travel a million miles! The whole place from the fantastic buffet meals, the star gazing, the drives and the relaxing areas is stunning! I really suggest an overnight experience to experience everything this resort has to offer. The staff was friendly to the max! - Jessica RCHawaii66 contributionsThis full day tour was as advertised. Our guide, T and our driver Bobby were super cool to hang with for the day. They were knowledgeable and it's clear that they do this all time as they can anticipate and plan our next stops with ease. It was the first (and only) day of great, sunny weather in our time in Cape Town which made for perfect conditions to see penguins, and hiking the southwestern most tip of Africa. We saw wild ostriches that were actually in our way during the hike!
The drive in between stops didn't feel long and T provided a lot information and fun trivial facts in the meantime. A lite lunch is provided and it was enough to be full but not feel lethargic for the rest of the day. Definitely fueled ourselves for the hike at the end. Our driver/ guide, Djiby aka Gabriel, collected us on time from our hotel and we spent a lively 2 hour+ drive to the Aquila Game Reserve.
He walked us through the entry process and ensured that we had our sumptuous lunch. Additionally he oversaw our boarding the safari vechild and was waiting for us when ee returned.
It was a wonderful and awe inspiring day. Seeing the animals in their natural habitat was exhilarating! The wide open savannah with the free roaming animals against the majestic mountain back drop was a highlight in our life that we will never forget.

Our guide Thebo was exemplary: knowledgeable, humorous, punctual and an excellent driver. The tour of Constitutional Hill and the Apartheid Museum were sobering and informative visits. And even though I was born in JHB, the tour enabled me to visit many locations I have never been before and learn about the history and the people living there.
