Small museum is not worth a special trip, but if you're waiting on your sailor, it's worth a stroll. Like other mention, significant space given over to sailor tattoos

While the material they had was presented very well, the content was a little lacking. Half of this museum was dedicated to Tattoos
It was free and right down from the base and for those two reasons I would say it was worth the visit

We had a great time walking through the museum, while we were waiting for our sailor to get liberty. It was neat to see the history of the Navy including racks, bootcamp beds, food and all kinds of neat facts.

This little museum is clearly geared toward the families of the recruits getting their introduction to the Navy at this huge training base (it is, in fact, the boot camp for all sailors entering the service). The most interesting displays delve into the history of the base from its origins during the Great White Fleet era of Theodore Roosevelt up through today. There are also small galleries on women and minorities in the Navy, as well as a gallery on animals related to the Navy (mascots and the like) and letter writing by service members and their families. It'll take less than half-an-hour to cover everything here and, frankly, if you aren't otherwise on base or in the neighborhood, you can probably skip it. The only thing that we found moderately interesting was the 5-inch gun mount out front - mainly because it isn't encased in a metal shell, so you can see how all of the mechanism gets crammed into that small package.

This is cute and informative place. They had nice displays and a lot of information. They had a very cute gift shop with clothing, hats, stickers and so much more. Worth while.

A museum for the enlisted sailor at the "Quarter deck of the Naavy". Insulting to us blue jackets. It was almost worth the price of admission.

There is a lot packed in a small space here and staff was very patient with my questions; did not seem to mind helping me understand how past events tie in with current military practices. My youngest son and I visited here while we waited to attend my other sons military Pass-in-Review and it was well worth our time.
