We always enjoy visiting museums and learning some of the history of places visited. This museum was established in 2012 to showcase the rich culture and history of the Palawan region. Presentation could be improved, nevertheless there was much interest in the artefacts, cultural items, dioramas of indigenous tribes and the interactive displays. Our museum guide was very passionate in explaining the diversity of the region's inhabitants.

Various cultural/historical displays. When I visited, there was an exposition of local pictures. A young scholarly staff kindly explained on many points.

This little museum is found along Fernandez street at the rear of the legislative building.

There is a 50 PHP registration fee (with the logbook just outside the entrance) which includes a guided tour of the museum in which you would learn about the history and culture of Palawan. We were lucky to have sir Raylove, the first place winner of the Baragatan art festival, as our guide.

The winning artworks of the festival are museum property, but there are also other lovely pieces available for purchase.

This is one of my favorite experiences in my Palawan holiday to Puerto princesa, El Nido and Coron. The entrance fee is shockingly affordable for the amount of personal guidance you get by professional guides who are actual artists. The cultural displays aka their permanent exhibition is so interesting and detailed. It was too much for that limited time I had ! Such a pity i could not stay longer to read it all slowly. Shinkin the guide is a local artist who is incredibly talented and knowledgable and proud of his Palawan heritage. It shows in all the other art works too and I was deeply moved to see Palawan citizens' creative expressions in their annual art competition open to everyone. I will definitely come back again to see the art competition's annual submissions!!

50 PHP entry price was worth it for the experience inside the museum! Personally I love museums that showcase history, culture and ethnology of a place and this ticked all the boxes. What’s better is amazingly we had someone with us all the way through the museum. Someone takes you through the first section and then someone else just appears and guides you through the art collection, then he disappears and suddenly you have another guide explaining to you the history etc...
Many of the guides are artists or musicians themself and sometimes have performances there. We found them quite knowledgeable when asking about the different tribes and customs and beliefs of the many peoples originating from Palawan. If you have a morning or afternoon to spare in your trip to Puerto Princesa I recommend you check this out.

It's surprising that the tour around the museum was just 50 pesos! We were led by very good museum guides and we learned a lot regarding art and history. I'm not usually fond of museums but I'd gladly return to this one.

Must visit place before going to any place in Palawan. It will help you appreciate the island better. There are educated tour guides who will introduce you to different paintings, historical artifacts, life-size figures representing the tribes. Prepare an entrance fee of 50 pesos ($1).

This was a very interesting place to visit and provides a good overview of the history of the area, its customs and heritage. It is modern and very well presented. I would particularly like to thank the very friendly and helpful young guides who provided such a good and clear description of the various sections of the center. I thought they were excellent.
