Matty Healy’s not the only one unfazed by ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, the majority of which is rumored to be about The 1975 front man. Apparently, Healy’s mom, Denise Welch, is also unbothered by the many pointed digs at Englishmen peppered throughout the 31 songs. In fact, she joked Thursday that she “wasn’t aware [Taylor] had an album out at all.”

Per People, on the British talk show Loose Women, Welch was interrogated by her co-panelists about her thoughts on Swift’s latest trauma dump of a record. The 65-year-old laughed as she maintained she hadn’t “heard anything about it,” adding, “Anyway, I wish her all the best.”

Though Swift only dated Healy for a fleeting month or so last year after ending her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn, the problematic British musician seems to have done a real number on the Midnights singer, reportedly inspiring songs like “Smallest Man” and “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can).” When approached by paparazzi Wednesday asking how he’d rate Taylor’s “diss track,” Healy, much like his mother, laughed it off and said, “I haven’t really listened to that much of it, but I’m sure it’s good.”

Honestly, Welch feigning that she hasn’t heard of The Tortured Poets Department — which has been streamed more than 1 billion times less than a week out from its debut — is a pretty classy and effective dig. Besides, Healy is a 35-year-old man who can fight his own battles if he so chooses. It seems, however, that he’s taking an apathetic stance, which feels right on target for the man-child Swift has made him out to be. For what it’s worth, Welch seems like a nice woman and I think we should leave her out of this one!
