Trent Batten, Oakville
Batten had another strong season that culminated in his second successive All-Metro first-team selection. He was second among area players with 137 goals and second in the area scoring race with 344 points to go along with 70 assists for the combined team known as “The Ville,” which finished fourth in the Missouri Water Polo district tournament.

Aidan Brawer, St. Louis University High
Brawer was a do-it-all player for the Missouri Water Polo district champion Junior Billikens. In addition to some strong defensive play, he scored 64 goals and dished out 51 assists for 179 points, the last two categories being good for 11th in the area.

Bryant snagged his second consecutive All-Metro first-team nod after another strong season for the district runner-up Colts. He tallied 78 goals, which tied him for eighth in the area, and added 69 assists, which ranked fifth, for a total of 225 points, seventh among area scorers.

Josh Niermann, St. Louis University High
Niermann shined between the pipes to help the Junior Billikens extend their record number of Missouri Water Polo district titles to 23. The MWP Wil Edens defensive player of the year posted a 16-4 record and a 7.04 goals-against average, which ranked second among area goalies, while making 191 saves, fifth-best in the area.

Noah Schott, Lafayette
Schott made his mark offensively this season for the Lancers, who had a combined team with the usually rival Wildcats. He poured in 152 goals and amassed 353 points, both marks ranking first among area players, and he also added 49 assists.

Matt Wedlock, Kirkwood
Wedlock had a strong spring campaign for the Pioneers, who finished third in the Missouri Water Polo district tournament. The MWP Dick Newman offensive player of the year tossed in 103 goals, fourth among area players, and compiled 228 points, which placed him sixth in the area scoring race.

Evan Zimmerman, St. Louis University High
Zimmerman shined on both ends of the pool for the Missouri Water Polo district champion Junior Billikens. He tallied 76 goals and amassed 171 points this spring and he made the biggest defensive play of the MWP title game, coming up with a game-saving steal and subsequent empty-net insurance goal in the final seconds.
All-Metro water polo second team
Conway, the younger brother of All-Metro player of the year Ian Conway, had a strong season himself for the Missouri Water Polo district runner-up Colts, as he tallied 40 goals and added 24 assists for 104 points.
The Missouri Water Polo girls player of the year, Kerber led the Mustangs to an undefeated season and a MWP girls district tournament title, tossing in 93 goals and accumulating 203 points, both second among area girls players.
Koenig was an offensive powerhouse for the Patriots, scoring 127 goals and compiling 266 points, both of which ranked him third among all area players.
Marren was the go-to attacker for the Cadets, racking up 95 goals and 199 points, which placed him sixth and 10th respectively among area players.
Pantazo was a strong second offensive option for “The Ville” behind All-Metro first-team player Trent Batten with 102 goals and 254 assists, both of which placed him in the top five in the area.
Waeckerle had a standout second season for the Lancers as he led the area in assists with 85 while also tossing in 69 goals and compiling 213 points, a total that placed him eighth in the area scoring race.
Zimmerman teamed with his brother, All-Metro first-team player Evan Zimmerman, for a memorable final minute of the district championship game, as he buried the eventual game-winner for the now 23-time champion Junior Billikens.
All-Metro water polo third team
Kerber, the cousin of All-Metro second team selection Neveah Kerber, made an instant impact for the unbeaten district champion Mustangs with 66 goals and 159 points, both third among area girls players.
Livak had a solid season overall for the Longhorns, scoring 41 goals while adding 54 assists — which tied for eighth in the area — for 136 points.
Matoushek was an offensive force in girls water polo this season, leading the area with 119 goals and 280 points while also chipping in 42 helpers.
McAuliffe was a defensive stalwart while helping to backstop the Junior Billikens’ Missouri Water Polo district championship, also tallying 27 goals and 83 points.
McCollum had another solid offensive campaign for the Vikings, scoring 90 goals and amassing 206 points, which were good for seventh and ninth, respectively, among all area players.
Pantazo had a steady season for “The Ville,” which finished third in the Missouri Water Polo district tournament, scoring 58 goals and racking up 48 assists and 164 points, all of which rank in the top 15 in the area.
Skale was a strong offensive contributor for the Red Devils this season, chalking up 72 goals and 166 points, to place him in the area top 15 in both categories.
