Chaminade senior Bubba Chapman is the Post-Dispatch All-Metro boys golfer of the year. Chapman won two consecutive state medalist titles and helped the Red Devils to three team championships.

Cole Hendrix, sophomore, CBC
Hendrix fashioned a strong second season for the Cadets, who won a district team title. He fired a 5-under-par 68 to win the Metro Catholic Conference tournament and also set a CBC course record for 18 holes. Hendrix followed that up with a solid district tourney and an even better showing at the Class 5 state tourney, where he finished in a three-way tie for fifth.

Trigg Lindahl, senior, Hermann
Lindahl earned his second state championship in three seasons in huge fashion with an eight-stroke victory at the Class 2 tournament. The repeat All-Metro first-team selection also claimed the Class 2 District 2 title in dominant style with a 5-under-par 67 and a nine-shot win. Lindahl has signed to play at Missouri-St. Louis.

Sam Ottwell, junior, Alton
Ottwell had a strong fall season for the Redbirds that included a fifth-place finish at The Prep Tour event. He then had a stellar postseason with a tie for ninth at the Class 3A Edwardsville Regional and a tie for second at the Pekin Sectional before capping it with a fifth-place showing in the Class 3A state tourney, the highest finish of any Metro East golfer.

Cole Packingham, sophomore, Liberty
Packingham followed up a solid first season with an even better second campaign this spring. He had a trio of top-five finishes in the regular season, including a Warrenton Invitational White Division title, a third-place effort at the Bulldog Battle and a fifth-place showing at Bogey Hills Invitational. Packingham capped it all in style with a Class 5 District 2 championship and tie for fifth at the Class 5 state tourney.

Thomas Shuert, junior, Marquette
Shuert had a breakthrough season for the Mustangs, who finished as the Class 5 team runner-up by just one stroke. He saved his best for that postseason run with a second-place finish at the Class 5 District 2 tournament, helping the Mustangs to the team championship, and an individual tie for third at the Class 5 state tourney, including a blistering 6-under-par 66 in the first round.

Harrison Zipfel, St. Louis University High
Harrison Zipfel, sophomore, SLUH
Zipfel continued the hot start to his high school golf career with his second consecutive All-Metro first-team selection. The highlight of his strong regular season was his second straight title at the Bulldog Battle, following last year’s 5-under-par 67 with a 4-under 68 this season. Zipfel later tied for second place at the Class 5 District 2 tournament before wrapping it with a tie for fifth at the Class 5 state tourney, his second successive top-six state finish.
All-Metro boys golf second team
Mason Lewis, junior, Edwardsville
Lewis picked up his second straight All-Metro nod after a strong fall season for the Tigers. He had a solid run through the first two tournaments of the postseason with a championship effort at the Class 3A Edwardsville Regional and a tie for fifth at the Pekin Sectional before tying for 35th at the state tourney.
Dominic Mazzola, senior, Marquette
Mazzola produced a solid season for the Class 5 runner-up Mustangs, including the Webster Cup title. In the postseason, he tied for eighth place at the Class 5 District 2 tournament and also produced a tie for eighth at the state tournament, one year after just missing the top-15 all-state cut.
Zach Mesplay, senior, Fort Zumwalt South
Mesplay had a big breakthrough in his final season for the Bulldogs, who won a district team title and finished fifth at the Class 4 state tournament. He tied for first in the Blue Division of the Bogey Hills Invitational, and he also tied for the top spot at the GAC Central tourney before taking the Class 4 District 2 title outright with a 4-under-par 67. He was 12th at the state tourney.
Yash Rao, senior, Summit
Rao had a memorable final campaign for the Falcons. He finished in a tie for fifth place at the Class 4 District 1 tournament and then had a fifth-place effort at the Class 4 state tourney, both showings being the best among area golfers in each event. Rao has signed to play at Lindenwood.
Ryan Suhre, junior, Metro-East Lutheran
Suhre had a solid fall season for the Knights that included a first-place showing at the Hickory Stick Invitational, finishing second at the Gateway Metro Conference tournament and tying for third at The Prep Tour. He won the Class 1A Alton Marquette Regional title before falling one stroke short of advancing to state at the Gibault Sectional.
Nick Vilela, sophomore, SLUH
The other half of the Junior Billikens’ dynamic sophomore duo, Vilela enjoyed a solid regular season that included a seventh-place finish at the Bulldog Battle. He also tied for fourth at the Class 5 District 1 tournament and fashioned a tie for eighth place at the Class 5 state tourney.
All-Metro boys golf third team
Harper Ackermann, junior, CBC
Ackermann earned his third consecutive All-Metro selection with a season that included a sixth-place tie at the Class 5 District 1 tournament, a 10th-place showing at the Bulldog Battle and a tie for 20th at the Class 5 state tourney.
Eric Ewing, sophomore, Chaminade
Ewing emerged as a big contributor to the Red Devils’ second straight Class 5 team championship with a strong postseason that featured matching 10th-place ties at the Class 5 District 1 tournament and the Class 5 state tourney.
Jacob Florek, junior, Mascoutah
Florek led the Indians last fall with a strong campaign that included a runner-up finish at the Class 2A Mt. Carmel Sectional, a tie for fifth at the Centralia Regional, an eighth-place tie at the Hickory Stick Invitational and a tie for 16th at the Class 2A state tournament.
Luke Glarner, junior, Priory
Glarner was part of a solid core for the Ravens, who finished third at the Class 3 state tournament, with his highlight being a 2-under-par 68 to win the Class 3 District 2 tourney before missing the all-state cut by just one stroke.
Colin Pini, senior, Francis Howell
Pini had a strong final campaign for the Vikings that featured a GAC South tournament title and a tie for first in the Blue Division at the Bogey Hills Invitational, as well as a sixth-place effort at the Bulldog Battle.
Hudson Shy, freshman, St. Charles West
Shy burst on to the scene with a solid rookie season that included matching first-place finishes at the GAC North tournament and the Warrenton Invitational Red Division, along with a third-place showing in the White Division of the Bogey Hills Invitational and a fourth-place effort at the Class 3 District 2 tourney.
