Fans in Buffalo enjoying stadium watching as new Highmark Stadium work continues

The Bills' new Highmark Stadium project is not just a construction site; it has “become a destination,” according to Michael Petro of BUFFALO NEWS. Petro noted watching construction of the new stadium has “become a thing” as people “naturally want to come out and take a look.” Petro: “People stop by on their way to the Bills Store, or on their drive to or from work or some other destination around Orchard Park.” Petro noted the site has been an attraction since the start of construction last June, but it has become “more of a must-see” this summer as the stadium “begins taking shape and the weather warms.” Construction is “expected to continue for two more years,” with completion slated before the start of the 2026 season. There are “several hundred workers” on site every day, with the workforce “expected to reach over 1,000 daily” at some point this summer. Petro wrote one of the “most popular places to take in what’s going on” has been the Bills Store parking lot across from the construction site, where there is “consistent foot traffic.” Local businesses around the stadium have seen “heavier traffic” as well, not just from stadium watchers, but also from construction teams “frequenting their establishments for food and drinks” (BUFFALO NEWS, 7/7).
