Sources: Paramount, Comcast agree on new carriage deal

Just days before a New Year’s Eve deadline, Paramount and Comcast reached a renewal on their carriage agreement, per sources close to the cable company. This means Comcast’s Xfinity subscribers will not have any disruptions to the end of the NFL regular season or the start of the playoffs on CBS. Sources are tightlipped on deal terms, but it is expected to be similar to the deal Comcast and Paramount cut two years ago, which included CBS, CBS Sports Network and Paramount’s other channels.  In September, Disney and Charter cut a deal that saw Disney drop several of its smaller channels. It appears that the Paramount-Comcast deal will not lead to any channels going dark. Another carriage deal to keep your eyes on -- Dish Network’s deal with NBC ends on New Year’s Eve, and there’s been no word from either side on how those talks are progressing.
