The Queens Chronicle is an award-winning weekly newspaper that has served the communities of Queens since 1978. From Astoria to Laurelton, Whitestone to Howard Beach, and all of the neighborhoods in between, we cover the news and events of our communities.

The Queens Chronicle was started by Susan Merzon on Nov. 2, 1978 and was originally called “The Paper.” The Paper had a circulation of 5,000 and covered Howard Beach and Ozone Park. With the goal of expanding to other areas of Queens, The Paper was renamed the Queens Chronicle in 1984. Over the years we have expanded to cover the entire borough of Queens and now publish nine individual newspapers every Thursday, reaching over 300,000 readers.

The Chronicle can be found at more than 950 high-traffic locations in Queens as well as in news boxes strategically placed throughout the borough, plus 10,000 copies home delivered.

We are a member of the New York Press Association and the proud recipients of many awards for advertising and editorial excellence, including second place for best newspaper website and first place the last two years for large space ads. Our staff is committed to bringing our readers the news of the borough in a high-quality, professional manner every week.

With 8 separate editions, we offer our advertisers highly targeted coverage. Whether the goal is to reach one specific area or the whole borough, we have been helping businesses in Queens grow for the past 44 years.

When people want to know what’s going on in Queens, they turn to the Queens Chronicle. With more than 70 bylined articles each week, the Chronicle has something for everyone, including local community news, Queenswide coverage, school news, entertainment and feature stories.
