I believe that healing occurs when people are given the space to explore their unique emotional experience to better understand how it colors their worldview, sense of self, and relationships with others. Within a safe therapeutic relationship, I work with my clients to make meaning out of both mundane and extraordinary moments, unlocking their ability to live a more fully present, authentic life.

Being a person in the world today is hard. You might be feeling overwhelmed and stressed. You might be feeling stuck, depressed, or weighed down. Perhaps you have difficulty identifying how you even feel in the first place. Learning how to cope can sometimes seem like an impossible undertaking, but I know that together we can explore ways for you to feel more aligned and energized. I know it can be difficult to find a therapy relationship that feels like a space where you can be vulnerable. I approach our work together with humor, warmth, and realness that I hope will create an authentic space for healing and growth.

Relationships are so beautifully complex. The relationship that was created has the power to be your source of joy or your most painful place in life. Unfortunately, many couples decide to stay in their discomfort as opposed to seeking out help and potentially transforming their lives together. If your relationship hit a roadblock, if you feel hopeless for the future, or if you are seeking greater fulfillment in your relationship, I would love to help you.

DO YOU FIND YOURSELF THINKING... "I wish I hadn't reacted that way. I feel like I am giving too much of myself to others. I feel burnt out. I wish I had a stronger sense of self. I've heard about intergenerational trauma, but I'm not sure what that might look like." If any of those statements sounded familiar, then you're in the right place. I'm here to help you explore those thoughts and behaviors in a trauma-informed, creative, and individualized way. Let's get curious together.

I believe that most people come to therapy seeking to change the quality of their lives. Some people would like short-term help with a specific issue. Others have less articulated goals and are looking for a deeper relationship that will help effect change over a longer period of time. My role is to provide an open, supportive space for you to explore what kind of change you are looking for in your life as well as to help you realize that change through careful attention, reflection and empathic listening.

Contrary to what movies show you about therapy, I won’t give you unwanted advice or simply nod solemnly the whole session. I bring curiosity, compassion, humor, free expression, and movement to join with my clients and help them explore what healing means to them. I hope to empower clients to access their natural abilities and to gently disrupt the unhealthy patterns we humans often get stuck in using more than traditional “talk therapy” approach. My goal is to facilitate somatic healing, so your whole body begins to feel better as you gain new awareness and get “unstuck” from the patterns you’re ready to release.

Loss doesn’t only occur when someone dies. At times, the grief that accompanies loss can be debilitating. Whether it is caused by the death of a loved one, the loss of a relationship, the loss of an opportunity, or the loss of faith in ourselves or our world, grief can make us question everything we know. But you don’t have to go through this alone. Together we can work through the pain of grief to accept the reality of the loss and adjust to living a new and fulfilling life.

My goal as a therapist is to assist clients in living healthy, fulfilling lives. I do this through helping clients identify goals they want to work toward, personal strengths on which they can build, skills they want to develop, and barriers they want to overcome. My work is client-centered and strengths-based, recognizing that change often takes time, hard work, and patience. Thus, I move with clients at their pace, knowing that recovery looks different for everyone and that there isn’t one approach to fit all clients. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe space for clients so they can develop trust and evaluate their life.

Hello, I'm glad you've made it to my profile! I work with adult individuals and relationships, treating issues of relational distress, adjustments to life transitions, struggles with anxiety and depression, and identity development. My practice is founded on the belief that every person has a place in their core where they experience clarity, curiosity, confidence, and calm. And yet, life is difficult. Sometimes we need support to get us back into that place of confidence and clarity—or to find it for the first time. My hope is that our work together can serve as a key support system to bring about the change you’re looking for.

Are you feeling disconnected from yourself or your life’s purpose? Are stress and uncertainty making it tough to envision what you truly desire? I’ll work with you to better understand yourself, leverage strengths, and align with your most meaningful goals. I’m particularly attuned to working with creative, high-intensity, and out-of-the-box thinkers. Constellations of these traits often include aspects of ADHD, giftedness, high sensitivity, and other forms of neurodivergence. I also specialize in issues that emerge at midlife, a unique time in which new stressors and shifting priorities can manifest in unexpected ways.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
