Problems I have experience addressing include depression and anxiety, loneliness and isolation, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, reproduction and parenting issues.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Perhaps you wish to know yourself better or to understand what is happening in your relationships. Sometimes depression or anxiety become unmanageable. Emotional pain and suffering are normal aspects of life but it is possible to achieve a more balanced and resilient emotional state and more fulfilling relationships.

I believe that the client-therapist relationship is an important anchor in therapy.
To consult, visit: awakenedheartpdx.com/book-with-us .. Therapy connects you to your authentic self, an act of self-love. It is a leap of reconnection to the deeper layers within you that fuel growth, acceptance and contentment. I offer tools to support you as you evolve, optimizing your present moment. With a psychodynamic lens, I can connect you to the various "selfs" you've inhabited through the years. And with mindfulness, I connect you to awakening your full self, shedding limiting beliefs and reframing narratives. Whether your needs are focused on short-term, or long-term, I welcome them.

I use the bond of the client-therapist relationship as a tool for change.
I am a Humanistic, Existential and Systemic Psychotherapist. I respect each person's inner wisdom and believe that each of us naturally tends toward growth and resilience. Past and current relationships, be they family of origin, community, cultural ties, or family of choice, shape who we are, how we grow, and hold both the wound and the salve for our healing. I work with individuals, couples, teens, and families. Much of my work is with people who are in some sort of transition or crossroads in their relationships or personal growth.

In my practice, I support people with a variety of struggles including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship and compulsive behaviors.
Taking the first step to get help and support can be confusing and hard to navigate. This is particularly difficult when we are struggling. I understand this and want to support you in feeling better and getting more out of your life. I believe that the most important way I can support you in counseling is by helping us build a trusting, collaborative relationship where you feel seen, heard and understood.

My passion is working with kids, families, and individuals who are navigating relationship challenges, depression and anxiety, life transitions, and challenges connected to ADHD and Autism.
Whether you have tried therapy in the past and are seeking support again, or are just beginning your therapy journey – I’m so glad you are here. I believe healing happens in relationship – to ourselves, to our communities, and to others in our lives who we care deeply for. Through Somatic Mindfulness (body centered), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Self-Compassion based theories, I view my role as a guide along the road back to yourself, the ones you love, and the life you want to feel present in.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
