I️ have experience working with victims and survivors of Domestic Violence, individuals struggling with anxiety, depression and life adjustments, as well as adults with substance abuse.
As a first generation US born Latinx female, I️ understand the complexities of life both lived and learned. I️ believe that individuals need space and time to feel comfortable to talk about their deeply rooted concerns. I subscribe to a 'relevant to the patient' technique, and I draw from the following treatment modalities of therapy; Humanistic Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gestalt Therapy.

It is not selfish to put yourself first. In fact, one of the best things you can do for yourself is tend to your own needs and wants. Choosing to begin therapy may feel like a difficult step. I am here to support you as you begin your journey. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a wide variety of communities and populations. I have experience in helping with anxiety, depression, grief & loss, trauma, dissociation, substance abuse, and more. My therapeutic approach is a mixture of behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic.

Many of my clients utilize our sessions to process these concerns, including Eco-Anxiety for which I received additional training.
I am an integrative therapist who combines holistic and clinical care to treat individuals (18+) with mood disorders, OCD, neurodiversity, and trauma. I specialize in anxiety, ADHD, and life transitions. I embrace the importance of working with clients to recognize their strengths, deviating from the more traditionally known deficit model. It is important that clients are given the space to explore who they are and learn meaningful tools that resonate with them.

Therapy is one of the best investments you will make and it will change your life. Maybe right now you're feeling anxious, disconnected, or overwhelmed. Maybe painful memories keep coming up and are preventing you from moving forward. Through allowing yourself to heal, unlearn self-limiting beliefs, and develop a healthy connection with yourself and with others you will naturally feel more aligned in life.

I have worked with college students, individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, family dynamics, developmental trauma, school trauma and chronic illness.
Life is not always smooth sailing. I believe it is important to learn how to swim with the waves as it is to look inward and learn to appreciate our own imperfections as human beings. I want to help you gain a deeper understanding of who you are, support you in the challenges you are facing, and provide you with practical skills to cope and cultivate self-confidence in overcoming adversity. Originally from Taiwan, my experiences with multicultural issues and social justice activism serve as a foundational lens in my work. I utilize an eclectic approach with evidence-based techniques to guide you in your transformative journey.

We have many words for the psychic, emotional, and self-injuries we endure - bipolar, psychoses, depression, anxiety, borderline, PTSD, abuse, addiction, grief - and working together psychoanalytically, we learn to unclot the wounds so they heal.
Whether the collapse is "out there" or "in here," it often seems the world is collapsing. Many of us seek therapy because the sense of losing our mind, ourselves, our loved ones, or our livelihood is terrifying, and the real threats of psychic catastrophes are debilitating. Knowing what we want becomes increasingly difficult, and we struggle to take shape and hold on to ourselves in the presence of others. We fold up or fold in to protect ourselves and our relationships, but then aloneness, desperation, panic, and self-attack set in.

We all have potential to be great friends, romantic partners, family members, or workers. But we all encounter roadblocks such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and other stressors that impact our mental health, which can make it more difficult to engage these roles in the way we'd want. Sometimes we feel lost as to how to maneuver around these roadblocks. I want you to know that you don't have to walk this path alone. In working together, we will focus on developing the skills to help you overcome these roadblocks, so that you can be the person you truly want to be.

Life often feels harder than it needs to. We have so many balls in the air, and constant juggling often leads to anxiety, self-doubt, and anger. It can be hard to be a good parent and spouse, to meet the expectations of friends colleagues and family, all while trying to meet our own needs. No wonder we find ourselves lost, unfulfilled and disconnected. If it seems like you don't know which way to turn, you've come to the right place.

It takes tremendous courage to tackle troubling issues and it's important to understand that you are not alone. Therapy can seem scary, but establishing a warm therapeutic alliance can allow you to share your dreams and fears confidentially, without judgment or negative repercussions. By building a collaborative partnership we identify behaviors holding you back. I work with both individuals and couples seeking to improve their sense of well-being and navigate transitions. I also work with anxiety, loss, depression, chronic illness, and medical related trauma.

I primarily work with adults and adolescents, dealing with life transitions, social/relationship issues, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and all different kinds of trauma.
Authenticity is the core value of my approach to therapy. I am a born and raised New Yorker who understands firsthand being skeptical of the work in therapy, especially when leaning outside of your comfort zone. If you're reading this, you may be in a place where you're ready to do just that... It may be that all of your past experiences are a weight that you carry around everywhere. The more troublesome of these experiences could create barriers to having fulfilling relationships with others and can make it hard to be with yourself.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
