Your plate may be full and it may also seem difficult managing it all. Life is hard and it's also hard to make time for therapy, but your future self will thank you. My goal is to create a non-judgmental, open, and supportive environment to foster positive growth and healing. I view therapy with a collaborative lens and value the rapport built between therapist and client to identify needs and concerns and work towards therapeutic goals.

I specialize in self esteem, emotional loneliness, & communication issues.
Something - some event / loneliness /feeling like a fraud / feeling like something is missing - brought you to look for a resource at this particular time. Wondering "what's wrong with me" What is the message in the difficulty you are having? The answers lie within that message. It is in discovering - or rediscovering - of who you are that you need. It is finding out and getting back to who you genuinely are - only then can you live authentically. Only then can you see your way through. Don't change into someone else. Find - rediscover - your own goodness - your own strengths. Rediscover who YOU are and be that fully.

Do you catch a glimpse of the finish line, yet it seems out of your grasp? Taking these steps can be overwhelming, occasionally sapping our motivation. The journey from where you are to your destination has countless stages. The unexpected detours that life throws at us can block our path and make navigation seem unmanageable. During these moments, I help you identify your desires and empower you to make those positive changes in your life. I understand that making the decision to seek help can be difficult, so I use an approach that is compassionate, direct, and non-judgmental creating an environment where you feel supported.

Many of my clients struggle with low self-esteem, boundary setting, finding purpose and a pattern of pushing themselves to burnout. I often use EMDR, IFS (parts work) and incorporate Vipassana meditation to promote inner healing. In the first couple of sessions we will help you build resources and healthy methods of coping with your current stressors. Once you feel stable, we can begin further exploring your wounds and identify methods to bring you healing. I enjoy exploring and treating the source of the issue to promote long term healing.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
