The work that I do in the therapeutic space is well suited for clients looking for an affirming, non-judgmental space to process their experiences and make changes towards their best vision of themselves. More than modalities, I believe that it is the strength of the therapeutic relationship that can guide folks towards change and transformation. As a white queer person, I have worked to develop an intersectional lens, making sure to hold space for folks with varying identities.
My central area of focus has been working with those in the queer community to navigate non-traditional relationships, coming out, experiences and experimentation with gender, and every day life. My work closely aligns with transformative justice frameworks, anti-racist politics, and anti-capitalist critique.
The work of therapy is full of trial and error and often, it can be intimidating to offer feedback. I work to create a space where the therapeutic journey is a partnership and where different approaches are welcomed. My practice is also focused on acknowledging the privileges and differences that exist in the room and encouraging challenging conversations.
