I am a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and a board-certified Physician Assistant with full prescriptive authority. I treat all psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions but have a deep interest working with special needs children and their families.

Dr. O’Connor completed his medical education & psychiatric residency at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to his particular clinical interest in mental health issues impacting university students, he has experience working with patients with a wide variety of mental health concerns. His background in education instilled an appreciation of the tremendous capacity for growth inherent in every person. He was drawn to the practice of psychiatry as a way of helping individuals recognize & actualize this potential.

Erin provides Comprehensive Evaluations, Pharmacotherapy, and Psychotherapy. She will also provide medication management for individuals who currently have a therapist and will communicate regularly with that therapist to provide the most individualized care possible. Erin Eves has extensive experience treating people with ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorders, OCD, PTSD, Personality Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, and Psychotic Disorders.

Elizabeth Shaffer, MD, is an accomplished psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry. She earned her M.D. degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Child Development from Appalachian State University where she graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Shaffer's passion for working with children and families developed during her involvement in a pre-K Head Start Program in Rural North Carolina. She completed her General Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine at Campbell University.

Andrea G. Boyer, M.D. is a board-certified Adult Psychiatrist and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, who has a passion for providing the best outpatient care. Her clinical areas of interest include anxiety disorders (including OCD), mood disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disorders, and eating disorders, among others.

I pride myself in holding a safe space for patients to be vulnerable -at varying degrees that are comfortable for them. I offer medication management to help patients quiet their symptoms so that they can heal deeply and/or make the changes they need to make in order to live a productive, joyful life of their choosing. As a former science teacher and yoga instructor - one of my strengths is patient education. I enjoy explaining disease processes to patients and educating them about how medications function to help manage their symptoms. I utilize a whole-person approach to incorporate medication management and holistic wellness.

Dr. Sharyn Comeau has been practicing as a board certified Adult, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, for over 29 years. She completed her Undergraduate Degree at Pace University, and her Graduate Degree at New York University and received her medical degree from Ross University in Dominica West Indies. She completed her General Psychiatry Residency at the University of Connecticut Hartford and Pediatric Psychiatry Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Callie Barnes, PA-C, a North Carolina native, is an experienced Physician Assistant with a demonstrated history of patient-focused care working in the hospital and outpatient care settings. Her practice history includes Hospitalist Medicine, Medical Intensive Care, Neuroscience Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Psychiatry.

After a decade in psychiatry, I have worked with individuals from many walks of life and a variety of treatment goals, usually related to navigating problems with mood, anxiety, or focus. The majority of my experience, including a fellowship, has involved working with individuals recovering from depression during midlife. Depending on conditions and goals, approaches have included medications, tms, psychotherapy, and applying therapeutic frameworks to exercise and diet.

Dr. Luna Sanchez Rivera holds the position of Staff Psychiatrist at Talkiatry. After completing residency in 2016 at the Ponce Medical School Psychiatry Residency in Puerto Rico, she then moved to North Carolina to complete a subspecialty in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Duke University Health System. There, she transitioned into an Assistant Professor position and focused on structuring the Pediatric Emergency Psychiatric Services and helped to support the Consult and Liaison Pediatric Service.

Dr. Megan Freeman is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult Psychiatry. She completed her residency training at Vidant Medical Center at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina in 2021 where she was the chief resident. Since then, she has worked as an attending physician at an inpatient adult psychiatric unit in Burlington, North Carolina. As a resident and attending she has treated adults of all ages and in all areas of mental health.

Dr. R. Dewayne Book is a Psychiatrist who specializes in addictive disorders, having studied neurobiology and biochemistry to understand chemical brain functions. This knowledge informs his well-rounded, individualized approach to treating patients struggling with addiction, an approach that also includes medication management, medication assisted treatment / medication assisted therapy (MAT), psychotherapy, patient education, and social network development.
