The Volunteering Roll of Honour

In support of the sixth annual Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence, we would like to acknowledge and show recognition for all the amazing volunteering work that our colleagues undertake in their spare time.

Although not an award in itself, the volunteering role of honour is an opportunity for staff to be recognised for their contribution to our communities.

A volunteering 'Roll of Honour' will be displayed at the Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence celebratory event and posted on the University's website.

To share any current volunteering activity you're engaged with, submit our form below.

Nominees must not be made aware of their nomination — and as such, you cannot self-nominate.

A panel of staff and students from the University will evaluate nominations and make recommendations to the Vice-Chancellor. Nominations will be assessed on their innovation, engagement and impact.

You'll be informed about the outcome of your nomination after the panel has met in October, and we will contact successful nominees if they have been shortlisted for an award to invite them to the awards event. An awards event is planned for Tuesday 28 November 2023 on campus. Nominees shortlisted for an award and their guests, as well as nominators, will be invited.

The nominated project must not have already been recognised by a University Recognition Award or a Students' Union Award. They can be nominated if they have received a VC Award previously for another project but if they are being nominated for the same project significant progress must have been made since the last nomination. You can nominate someone if they were previously nominated but weren’t successful.
