Our Programs

College Prep

We help youth prepare for higher education and meaningful employment. Our Education Advocates work with each student to create a career and academic achievement plan tailored to the student’s gifts and goals. Some NW Education Access students choose a vocational or technical postsecondary track while others will choose an academic or professional track.

Our goal is to have each student start an appropriate postsecondary program of study on the right foot with the resources and skills they need to succeed.

  • Intake: Supporting students through the enrollment application, understanding the educational history, and career and education interests. Completing a resource inventory and barrier assessment, including referral to community resources for transportation, childcare, housing, legal services, and more.

  • Career Exploration: Career assessments, program exploration, connection to job shadowing and professional mentors.

  • Technical Support: Guiding students through all of the technical steps in college applications: admissions, financial aid paperwork, identifying scholarships and funding sources, budgeting.

  • Tutoring and Testing: GED, SAT, and ACT tutoring and test preparation.

  • Pre College Prep: Registration, exploring degree requirements, and college success strategies.

  • Student Starts Class

NW Education Access stays with students until they reach their education goals, as well as celebrate each milestone along the way!

College Success

Retention through postsecondary pathways is just as important as access, and NW Education Access continues to support students throughout their education journey.

Education Advocates support students in the following ways:

  • Renewal & reinstatement of financial aid

  • Completing transfer applications

  • Building self-advocacy skills

  • Addressing barriers and connecting to resources

Students actively enrolled in a postsecondary program may be eligible to apply for the NW Education Access Quarterly Scholarship as identified in their funding plan with their Education Advocate. Students continue to receive access to tutors and professional mentors.
