What age did you stop using a monitor?

DS is 3 next month and we still use a monitor in his room every night.

He sleeps in a double bed never falls out (anymore) and if on the rare occasion he gets up in the night he comes straight into us but I still keep a monitor on when he's in bed.

What age did you get rid of yours?

We live in a relatively average sized 5 bed detached and I guess we would probably hear him but I have kept it to now just in case we don't or if he has a nightmare and we wouldn't hear.

We have one for a nearly 5yo and a 3.5yo. The camera is on but not the monitor all the time. Occasionally we check it if we wear something or to see if they have finally stopped chatting in bed Grin

I never had one for any of my 3. They could cry loud enough for me to hear and I'm a light sleeper

I never used one. I don’t think they were quite so popular 30 years ago, when I had my two DDs. I kept each baby in a cot in my bedroom until they were 12 months anyway.
And they both could shout loud enough to raise the dead alert me anywhere in the house!

No such thing in my day.

About 9 months once he stopped getting stuck in the cot bars. We can here him from everywhere (including the garden) so have no need. We do still have one for at others houses if we're less likely to hear him.
