Paid research opportunity for parents of 6–8-year-olds: Try a tool designed to strengthen children’s emotional skills — named one of the Best Inventions of 2021 by TIME magazine — and get an e-voucher of up to £55.

Hi all!

We would like to invite you to participate in this research study by King's College London. We are looking for parents of children aged 6-8 years with considerable emotional or behavioural difficulties to join our study and help us understand if and how a support tool we have developed to help children learn crucial emotional skills during everyday situations can be useful to families.

The tool consists of:

1. Purrble, an interactive toy born out of academic research and designed to help children calm down and learn better ways to deal with their feelings (recently featured in TIME magazine as one of the best inventions of 2021); and
2. a set of support resources designed around it to further strengthen children's emotional skills.

• have a child aged 6-8 years with considerable behavioural and/or emotional difficulties who hasn't received a diagnosis of a mental health or neurodevelopmental condition (e.g., ASD, ADHD, Intellectual Disability);
• currently live in mainland UK;
• haven't had a Purrble in their household before; and
• are comfortable speaking, reading, and writing in English.

• Try the tool at home for 4 weeks (yours to keep afterwards)
• Complete some questionnaires; take part in an onboarding session at the start of the study (~30mins), and an interview at the end of the study to discuss your experience with the tool and give us feedback (~1hr).
