Modern but normal boys names

Any ideas?

We are looking for a boy's name that is 'modern', doesn't make them sound like from a different time period or sound old-fashioned, but is still also a normal name and not made up or too out-there..

How about Andrew? It's timeless and under used these days. Despite being old it doesn't have that 'old man' vibe. Lots of shortenings.

Thanks, all, this is really helpful! Some really great suggestions (Stop Grin ) and we have been adding quite a few to our list. Love Quinn, Evan, Soren, Torin.. and yes really like Andrew too. Joel and Leon and Milo have been spot on as well in terms of what we're after! thanks! Smile

untilthecowscomehome my son is called Jase!! He is two, love it for him, has a rascal vibe to it and he definitely is a rascal!!

Op I'm a bit like you, like modern but not too modern! Some great names there, I love Seth, don't think it would for with my surname though. I think boys names are so much harder, I was thinking of Luke for dc2 if it's a boy, I don't think it's too over used or old manish, it's cute and not too "cool" either.

Valid I like your list. Silas is a bit like Seth which I love and Arlo and Sebastian just sound handsome somehow! :D

Emma Ooh I loved Jase too! Had never heard of that name before but it has just the right vibe.

Also really like Arlo but it's recently been used in the family.

I think of Seth as a very old name, but if you like it I think of Silas, Amos and Ruben as similar

Dont use Seth - my 20 year old has enjoyed being one of the few Seths around ever since he was born. We wouldn't want it to get too popular 😉
Btw, if you are in London or the South East you will get lots of Seff.

Aldrin.

Old English name but I think the space connection makes it modern. I won't stop until someone uses it.

Jase just sounds short for Jason which to me is very 80s?

Sorry I've just seen a pp actually has a Jase, and I've been a bit rude about it. Apologies.
