AIBU?

Does anyone actually buy anything from Ann Summers anymore?

I’ve seen some minor ‘celebs’ are endorsing Ann Summers, tbh I forgot it existed in recent years! It was always very expensive and with the likes of Love Honey etc now I struggle to see why anyone would buy stuff from AS?

AIBU to think it’s had it’s day?

I got THE BEST ever leather look leggings in Ann Summers recently. They are absolutely gorgeous and we’re only about £20! I tried loads, including very expensive ones. But you won’t find better!

I have a large cup size and someone on here recommended Ann Summers, when Bravissimo stopped delivering to Ireland.

They are a great fit, last long and are reasonably priced.

I remember when love honey, was pabo. And you could get a mail order magazine! I remember a friend's dad being an utter creep. I ordered one, and put hearts and kisses on it saying " too Mr etc, love secret mistress etc". 😂. Then posted it when everyone was out for the day!

Never been inside one.

I imagine all the underwear is scratchy and would give you a rash and the rest of it is edible nurses uniforms, penis straws and chocolate body paint. I can't say at any point in my life or those I know would be in the market for these things but they still survive so there you go.

For someone who's never shopped there, you know a lot about them?!

I've recently bought bras from their website that actually fit well AND are comfortable! Like a PP, a large (ish) cup size and narrow ribs aren't that easy to get bras for, particularly if you a) haven't got a fortune to spend on these things b) don't really like underwires anyway and c) want your underwear to look reasonably pretty instead of just functional.

Sometimes it pays not to be snobby about these things 😁

I do miss La Senza though, would rather have kept that than Ann summers!

La Senza!

That takes me back to my teenage years, lovely lingerie but sadly I didn't have much to put in them!

I get my bras from AS too/. I'm a 44 F/G and they do great padded bras for £15.

The bra sale is about ok.

I love their bras, it's the only place I buy mine from now. Perfect fit.

I prefer their rabbit vibrators to Love Honey versions, but last time I went in, there wasn't much out, so ordered online.

Never bothered with them to be honest, they don’t seem to cater for small chested ladies unless they’re stick thin. Always reinforced my lack of body confidence. I’m at the M&S stage of life now anyway!

Never too old for a sexy bra and a cheeky sex toy 😜

Yeah they are good for bra sizing for small ribs and bigger cup sizes!

I did previously always buy stockings from there as well on one of their deals, but nowadays I’ve been getting the non-ladder ones from M&S which have been great and inexpensive

My sister use to host parties, don’t think they are really a thing these days.
She use to get every one of her friends to have one and they were pretty embarrassing

Cheaper to get the magic wand on eBay than Ann summers, similar with other toys

I've got really big boobs, I find that only Skims or Ann Summers Planet Lace bras to be comfortable and supportive

At least i only get DD8 giggling at the pictures in the windows instead of questioning me on repeat 'what is Victoria's secret and why won't she tell anyone?".

Love their bras. They go up to big sizes too. Friendly staff. The one near to where I lived in the UK was always quite busy.

Why? Confused

Lol.
The kind of "naughtiness" sexuality typified by this shop is the absolute antithesis of an adult, liberated intimacy-based sexuality. Nylon and polyester and tee heeing. It's not sexy.

They’re one of the few places I’ve found that do larger size plunge bras. I just buy the basic black or white lace ones and they’re quite reasonable price wise. Lasted longer than my marks ones

At a time when shops are struggling more than ever and staff face the realistic prospect of losing their jobs, I'm struggling to see why you feel the need to start a thread about how outdated YOU feel a shop is.

Unless you literally represent everyone, your opinion is just that.

Trying to encourage loads of women to put down a firm reliant on sales to women seems very callous to me.

Come on, it's not like people are going to not shop there anymore because someone posts on an anon forum that they feel it's outdated. Personally I agree with the OP, much better value and quality available elsewhere nowadays and does seem dated to me.

I have a friend (mid 50s) who has just become a rep and is constantly posting stuff on facebook which is a bit annoying. I used to buy from them years ago. I had my wedding underwear from there and have bought bras online but not shopped there for years now.

Crikey who made you the boss of everyone's sex lives? As a side note after cancer treatment I had to use dilatory. The NHS ones were hard awful plastic which made an uncomfortable procedure worse.. Visiting an AS store they were fabulously helpful at suggesting things!
