How we tested the Graco FoldLite LX Travel Cot

Mum-of-two Anna tested out the Graco FoldLite LX Travel Cot over a weekend break away. During this time she used it primarily as a sleeping cot for her nine-week-old baby, taking extensive notes on the cot's portability, size, ease of assembly, comfort, safety, sturdiness and overall value for money. She then provided an overall verdict on the travel cot based on her experiences of the above factors.

How is the Graco FoldLite to use first time?

According to Anna, the travel cot came in four parts including the bassinet attachment.

I was very impressed with how compact it was and how simple it looked to assemble.

It is incredibly easy to put up - it just pops up and clicks in! There are instructions but I actually didn't need to use them as it's very simple.

How big is the travel cot?

The dimensions of the Graco FoldLite LX Travel Cot when put up are: H68, L105, W65cm.

"The cot is smaller than other travel cots I've used,' explains Anna. "This is great for a small room, however it means I don't think it will last as long. I don't feel like the cot would work as a playpen for this reason."

How heavy is the Graco FoldLite LX Travel Cot?

The travel cot weighs 6.78kg and, according to Anna, "is lightweight and easy to carry."

We had no problems with transport of the cot. It fits in the car easily and we were able to carry it around without any trouble.

How sturdy is the Graco FoldLite LX Travel Cot?

Graco FoldLite LX Travel Cot

The cot structure is sturdy and works well. The bassinet part of the cot hooks onto the cot - we put out pram bassinet into it (my baby is a fussy sleeper!) and it fits perfectly - I wasn't worried that it would break.

How long can you use the travel cot for?

Although it is marketed as being suitable for babies weighing up to 15kg (approx. age 3) Anna didn't think it would last her youngest this long.

"My daughter is two and I don't think she would fit into it comfortably. I think it is more likely to last my baby until he is 12 - 18 months."

Does the Graco FoldLite LX Travel Cot represent good value for money?

At just £85, the Graco is one of the more reasonable travel cots on the market. Anna said she thought it represented very good value for money.

Overall verdict

Based on her use of the Graco FoldLite LX Travel Cot, Anna said her favourite features of the cot were "how easy it was to put up and down and its compactness." However, the cot lost some points for the thinness of the mattress and its lack of longevity.

Finally, we asked Anna to rate the Graco FoldLite LX for the following:
