"My absolute favourite was lake garda on a spring holiday (if I remember correctly was Bella Italia) and if you go there garda land is a must for the children and all the little villages around are lovely for wandering around in the evenings to find the best restaurants for pizza (their favourite food, can't beat real Italian pizza."

“We stayed in Norcenni last year. Lovely park but absolutely massive. They have a little train that goes around the park to take you around, which you will definitely want! We stayed in a 3 bed Eurocamp avant, which was in a nice location with a view. Our kids are young, so we preferred the pools at the top side of the site (where the lazy river is).”

“We did Marina di Venezia without a car. We got public transport (a coach) from the airport. There is/was a shuttle bus from the bus stop to the camp site, but we went at the end of the season so it had stopped. It is walkable, but as my DH had told me there was going to be a shuttle bus I was quite grumpy on arrival! It's a huge site. Hire bikes and cycle around the lagoons. Visit Venice and explore the islands. We had a lovely holiday.”

“We went to Marina di Venezia a few years ago and loved it. It's quite a big site so there's lots to do, but it's also right by the beach too. The surrounding area is good for leisurely cycling and it's easy to get across to Venice too.”

“Camping Portofelice north of Venice is fantastic!! Short walk to the safe sandy beach and the wee town of Eraclea Mare which was lovely - great shops, restaurants and a market. Short bus ride to Caorle a lovely town which had a water park more suited to families than teenagers unlike the big water parks near lido de Jesolo. We loved it! Lots of Venetians leave Venice in the summer months and stay there - we got friendly with some families and 2 of the grandpas used to bring us big bags of fresh mussels they'd collected that day!”

Do Eurocamps in Italy have WiFi?

Most Eurocamps in Italy do have WiFi available, but a lot of the time it’s only available in certain parts of the parcs and charges sometimes apply.

Can you take dogs to Eurocamps in Italy?

While some Eurocamps in Italy don’t allow dogs, most do let you take them on holiday with you. You’ll most likely have to keep them on a lead though.

What’s included in the price of a Eurocamp stay?

Your Eurocamp stay includes accommodation, access to the kids’ clubs, and use of facilities on site including swimming pools, activities, and entertainment. Meals aren’t included so you’ll need to make your own food or head to the on-site restaurants. Duvets and pillows are generally provided but you’ll need to bring your own linens, or reserve them in advance of your trip.

What’s the best Eurocamp in Italy?

We think the best Eurocamp in Italy is Camping Village Fabulous. Close to the coast and surrounded by 70 acres of pine forest it’s a nature-lover's dream, and the brilliant pool complex and great range of family-friendly activities will keep everyone happy. The fact that there’s public transport right on the doorstep that’ll take you straight into Rome is another big factor in making this the best site to visit in Italy.

How we chose our recommendations

Because we know that there's nothing like a real recommendation from a fellow parent, we first headed to the Mumsnet forums to find out which Eurocamp sites were being recommended for families.

We then did some research looking at which Eurocamp destinations had won accolades and what customer reviews said about them. We looked at on-site amenities, accommodation options and location. Having collated all that information, we then narrowed our list down to the best Eurocamp sites for families.
