Cam Collier Takes Home All-Star Futures Games MVP

In the annual exhibition during All-Star festivities featuring some of baseball's top prospects, the Reds' No. 3 prospect Cam Collier was named Most Valuable Player of the Futures Game.

Collier, whose power has been on display all season, continued swinging a big bat with a 409-foot home run in the National League's 6-1 win on Saturday. Collier, 19, is the second Reds player to be named MVP of the Futures game. In 2018, outfielder Taylor Trammell claimed the honor.

The other Reds representative in the game was pitcher and top prospect Rhett Lowder. The Reds' first-round selection in 2023, Lowder pitched a scoreless, hitless inning with a strikeout.

Louisville Bats Manager Pat Kelly Earns 2000th Career Win

With a 3-2 victory over St. Paul on Thursday, Bats manager Pat Kelly became just the seventh Minor League Baseball manager to win 2,000 career games. Kelly's 2,000 wins rank third among active minor league skippers. Now in his fifth season at the helm for the Bats, his 298 wins as Louisville's manager put him at second all-time in franchise history.

Reds Minor League Pitcher & Player of the Month -- July

Pitcher of the Month: Daytona Tortugas RHP Nestor Lorant

In five games spanning 21 innings, Lorant posted a 0.42 ERA with a 0.42 WHIP. He allowed just one earned run on six hits with three walks and 24 strikeouts.

Player of the Month: Chattanooga Lookouts INF/OF Francisco Urbaez

In 25 games, Urbaez hit .296 with an .864 OPS. He recorded 29 hits including five home runs, two doubles and a triple with 19 RBIs and four steals.

Minor League Roundup

Daytona Tortugas –Single-A

Johnny Ascanio's squeeze bunt lifted the Tortugas over the Hammerheads in extra innings Tuesday night. The Tortugas won the game 4-3 in 10 innings.

Dayton Dragons – Advanced-A

Reds No. 12 prospect Hector Rodriguez knocked two home runs in the Dragons' 12-7 victory against the Tin Caps Tuesday night. His first was a two-run blast in the first and his second was a grand slam in the sixth.

Chattanooga Lookouts – Double-A

Brooks Crawford had a clean relief appearance for the Lookouts in their 4-1 loss to the Trash Pandas. The right-hander allowed just one hit over 2 1/3 innings and struck out four batters.

Louisville Bats – Triple-A

The Bats hit four home runs in their 11-10 10-inning loss to the Mud Hens. Levi Jordan recorded two of those himself, with knocks in the first and seventh innings.
