If you’re looking for the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift for a beauty fan, or just want to treat yourself to some makeup favourites, then look no further than Boots' latest launch.

The health and beauty retailer has become renowned for its affordable-but-jam-packed hauls over the last 12 months, many of which sell out in a matter of days. And the newest Boots edits are expected to be no different.

The high-street favourite has today (February 1) released not one, but two luxury beauty boxes worth at least double the price you pay. Whether they’re a payday treat, Valentine’s gift or you’re thinking of saving them for Christmas stocking fillers (it’s never too early to start), they’re sure to be a hit with shoppers.

Both boxes are priced at £25 each, with the Love Language box worth over £64, while the In Love With hauls is worth over £55. But it’s not all about the price vs value ratio - for some, it’ll be the products inside that matter most.

The Love Language box contains five beauty favourites, including one full sized and four deluxe samples from the likes of Elemis and Fenty. The ICONIC London Kissed by the Sun Multi-Use Cheek Glow is worth £25 alone, which pays for the box itself, essentially making the rest of the products freebies.

Here’s what’s inside the Love Language box:

  • Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer 2ml

  • ICONIC London Kissed by the Sun Multi-Use Cheek Glow 5g - Full Size

  • Elemis Superfood Glow Priming Moisturiser 20ml

  • MACStack Mascara 2.1ml

  • Ghost Deep Night Eau De Toilette Splash Mini 10ml

While the Love Language box is makeup-focused, the In Love With haul features more skincare brands like REN, Kiehl’s and Lancaster. The main pull for this box is likely to be the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Moisture Essence 28ml, usually £23.

The anti-wrinkle essence is said to deliver ‘instant and intense hydration’ that lasts for up to 24 hours, and has 120 five star reviews from shoppers on the Elemis website.

One said: “I struggle with oily but dehydrated skin and this essence has been a game changer for me. It really plumps my skin and feels very refreshing. Highly recommend it if you need some extra hydration.”

Another added: “I’d bathe in this stuff if I could! It smells so divine and I will have to say this is my favourite part of my skin care routine. Face feels so hydrated after using it. Love it!”

But some said it’s a little too thick, adding: “This essence with signature Pro-Collagen Marine scent is super rich and heavy like serum. It definitely hydrates my skin and leaves it very plump but sticky.”

Beauty boxes remain an incredibly popular way to get your hands on a number of products for a fraction of their retail price. Earlier this month, Boots launched their first ‘self care pamper box’ of the year, which sold out in 48 hours. But as is sometimes the case with pre-filled boxes like this, is that some shoppers may not use every single product inside.

That said, while not speaking specifically about any particular brand, Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert’s site has previously said that beauty bundles like this one are a ‘great way to save money ’ and could be a smart way to shop for stocking fillers to spread the cost of Christmas over the full year.

The MSE team said: “Beauty bundles can be a great way to save money on your favourite brands, or try new products without having to shell out full-price. They're also a brilliant way to shop for presents, as you can split up a bundle to make your own beauty boxes or hampers to gift.”

Boots aren’t the only retailer to launch a beauty haul fit for a Valentine’s Day gift, though. Elsewhere, LookFantastic’s latest edit costs £55 to buy, and two of the products inside are worth £20-30 more than the price you pay. The limited-edition box released ahead of Valentine’s Day contains a collection of seven full-size beauty must-haves that make the perfect gift this February 14, including an £85 Elemis moisturiser. Alternatively, you can buy the Liberty For The Love Of Beauty Kit for £63.75 here when you sign up for a free Liberty account and use the code NEWCUSTOMER15.

But Boots do come in cheapest at £25 each, so if you’re looking for an affordable set brimming with best-loved brands, you can shop the latest Boots luxury beauty boxes here.
