Charlotte Trippier has come under fire after sparking separation fears with her husband Kieran Trippier and his friends are alleged to have shared their frustrations.
Taking to her Instagram story on Monday, June 24, 2024, ahead of England's uneventful match against Slovenia (0-0), the wife of Newcastle star Kieran shared an enigmatic post, reading: "Sooner or later you get over the s*** you swore you'd never get over and it's the best feeling in the world."
She'd then penned as a caption: "The sun is shining. Happy Monday angels." While she usually maintains a low profile, Charlotte has since grabbed attention among football fans as they have noticed she had stopped following the England international on the social media platform - and according to the Mail Online, his friends have since called her out for the timing of her message.
One of them has slammed Charlotte for breaching her usually discreet image, saying: "What on earth was Charlotte playing at? Why would she do that? She might not be in Germany but she knows full well the ramifications of her post."
The pal then added: "they have always been a private couple so to do this on such a big day, when England are under so much criticism for how they are playing seems ill thought-out."
Although some of Kieran Trippier's pals insist that Charlotte's outburst has not affected his performance at the UEFA European Championship, which kicked off earlier in June, another friend chimed in: "It is far from ideal, there was absolutely no need to put their marriage out into the public domain like this." The Daily Mirror has reached out to Kieran's representatives for comment.
While the mum-of-three has not confirmed her now-deleted post was a dig at her husband, her notable absence from the stands in Germany has only reinforced concerns for her marriage as she has often been spotted cheering for her other half, with whom she was last seen on Instagram back on May 12.
Instead, Charlotte announced this week that she was doing the school run for her son and daughter, respectively aged eight and five years old. She shares a third child with Kieran, but none have flown over to Germany to support him.
Kieran and Charlotte first set eyes on one another in 2014, and the smitten football player got down on one knee to pop the question a year later. They tied the knot in 2016.
Charlotte, who is known to be one of the more private WAGs, as mentioned, gave birth to their first child, Jacob, in December, 2016. The couple then welcomed their daughter, Esme Rose, in February, 2020, and their family was completed with the arrival of another baby in 2022.
