Kieran Trippier's wife got the rumour mill churning this week when she posted a cryptic message on Instagram and unfollowed her England star husband.

Charlotte, 33, took to social media before her Kieran, also 33, kicked off England's match against Slovenia at Euro 2024, which ended in a lacklustre draw. Ahead of the game, the mum-of-three posted: "Sooner or later you get over the s*** you swore you'd never get over and it's the best feeling in the world. The sun is shining. Happy Monday angels."

It is not clear who the message is aimed at, but eagle-eyed followers noticed that Kieran's profile no longer comes up in the list of accounts the WAG follows (at the time of reporting), leading social media users to claim Charlotte had unfollowed the left-back - although the Newcastle star still follows her.

While many of the England squad’s partners have been seen supporting their significant others from the stands during the group stage games, Charlotte has notably been absent. Instead, she was spotted at The Hoppings, a popular fair in Newcastle, last Friday. She shared images on Instagram of her day out with the couple’s three children.

Also this week, Charlotte, who married the Bury-born star in 2016, posted a short film of herself enjoying "some calm" before the school run on her Instagram story, which has since been deleted. The video showed the mum in her dressing gown looking into the camera pensively.

Last year, the mum-of-three opened up about her 'hidden' struggle in Madrid in NUFC's Prime Video documentary series, We are Newcastle United, before her husband made the switch to the Toon Army at the start of last year.

Speaking candidly about the move, she revealed, similarly to Victoria Beckham, that away from the perceived glamour of a new life in Spain, she was left "lonely" and "depressed".

There were a few eyebrows raised when England international Kieran made the move from playing Champions League football with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, to a Newcastle side, who were still battling relegation after the club's much publicised take-over. Charlotte joined her man in Tyneside a month after he signed and had been a constant presence on match days, going to every home game at St James' Park and heading to Wembley in 2023 to see Eddie Howe's men lose out in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester United.

However, speaking about the childhood sweetheart's move to Madrid, she said: "When we first moved to Madrid, I was on my own for long. I felt so lonely, 'cos people don't see that side of things. About four months in, I was saying to him 'I don't know if I can stay here Kieran, I feel depressed. I've got no family over here, I've got no friends here'.

"It's the language barrier that made it so hard and I did say to him 'I don't know if I can do it. We might have to look at me going back, because I don't feel happy here," as Kieran responded: "It was a difficult choice as I was playing Champions League football for one of the biggest clubs in Europe, I got offered a new contract there; but family are more important than football to me, so family comes first."

There has been plenty of love for Charlotte on social media, since the release of We Are Newcastle United, with one fan taking to Twitter to post: "Oh I’m adding Charlotte Trippier to my love circle!! She’s beautiful, strong - followed her bloke!!!"

However, the fact that the WAG is now no longer following Kieran on social media, along with her latest post and no-show in Germany has left many fans wondering what is going to kick off with the couple after the Euros.
