Known for portraying Bhishma Pitamah in Mahabharat and superhero Shaktimaan, Mukesh Khanna is once again in news for all the wrong reasons.

In his YouTube videoKalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan and gave full 100 points to the film for the performances and the scale.

However, he further called Kalki 2898 AD a film that is made to appeal to the people in Hollywood and that audiences of Bihar and Odisha won’t be able to understand it.

He said, “The level of intellect with which the film has been made is fine for Hollywood. People are more intelligent than us over there. Forgive me, but audiences in Odisha and Bihar are not going to understand this kind of filmmaking.”

Mukesh Khanna’s tone-deaf statement has now gone viral on social media and no points in guessing, the actor is getting brutally trolled for the same.

Reacting to the same, one user wrote, “So according to Mukesh Khanna, the people of the state that gave birth to Pathani Samanta and Aaryabhatta aren't smart enough to understand Kalki 2898 AD. What a shame that understanding a film is a benchmark of one's intelligence.”

Another user sarcastically commented, “I went to watch Kalki 2898AD with my Bihari friend but I couldn't understand it as Mukesh Khanna had rightly pointed out. Why are we so unintelligent saar. We very poor in laarning saar.”

A third user reacted, “Seriously, folks like Mukesh Khanna underestimate our brains and assume everyone is as clueless as they are. If Robo (Enthiran) raked in 300 crores in 2010 and Endgame bagged 400 crores in 2019 in India, why doubt our love for sci-fi in 2024?”

A fourth user wrote, “guys do you think I am dumb on account of being an Odia? So dumb that I can’t understand the film Kalki with cliches patched up from Hollywood? Mukesh Khanna seems to think so.”

Check out some of the responses below:

In the same video, he also called out Nag Ashwin for twisting Maharabhat and asked Sanatani Hindus to object to the film.
