  • The SBN named Denise Clumpner,  Show Car Director at Iola Old Car Show, as the network's newest #SheIsSEMA spotlight member! Now holding the job she dreamt of having as a young kid, Denise enjoys the freedom of hunting for and inviting vehicles to the show, as well as seeing people smiling and sharing stories and experiences with their vehicles. "I have been a car nut my entire life, but my first job in the industry was at my family's business, the Ogdensburg Garage," said Denise. "I worked full-time hours during the summer, and when I could during the school year. I earned enough money to buy my first car, a '69 GTO, and restore it in time to debut it at Iola '81 when I was eighteen. I still own and show the car today and have added several more vehicles to my collection." Denise's biggest accomplishment is blowing all stereotypes out of the water and helping bring about cultural change by empowering girls and women to get involved with great vehicles. • The SBN has named Kira Daczko, admissions director at Universal Technical Institute, Inc., as the network's newest #SheIsSEMA spotlight member! Kira has been with Universal Technical Institute for five years and she loves being a part of empowering youth as they start their path to adulthood. Her biggest accomplishment was having a young high school girl shake her hand and thank her for conducting the technical workshop she was in. She told Kira that she learned a lot and was inspired to pay it forward. Kira knew right then that all the work, long hours and tiring days were worth it if she positively impacted at least one other person's life. • The SBN has named Baily Soto, curriculum specialist at Legacy EV, as the network's newest #SheIsSEMA spotlight member! To Baily, the most rewarding part of her job is her role in upskilling mechanics so that they can thrive in an industry with both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs) on the road. When Baily made the jump to leave public education and join Legacy EV, her friend Vanessa, an awesome woman pioneering in the Web3 world, told her to accept failing at work every day; Innovators, pioneers, thought-leaders, developers, they all fail every day. This advice has been instrumental to Baily as she helps build workforce training for EV technicians, because teaching new technology is hard, and exciting adult learners about learning is even harder. So, building a community through hands-on, skills-based training that defies traditional education and prepares and upskills auto technicians is a challenge worth accepting to her. "Lee is very active in all aspects of the business--from the office to outside organizations to recreational activities," said Deb. "She actively networks with people from all aspects of the aftermarket and is able to lean on those contacts to facilitate other relationships." • The SBN has named Chelsea Arnold, customer service lead at Driven Lighting Group (DLG) as the network's newest #SheIsSEMA spotlight member! Chelsea has been with DLG for two years and what she enjoys most is having the opportunity to learn and grow in the automotive lighting industry. Having attention to detail, compassion, and being strong-willed are the three qualities she attributes to getting her to where she is today. The best advice Chelsea has ever received is to coach up or coach out; She applies it to herself when she thinks she can't accomplish something. She either coaches herself through it or coaches herself out into a better situation. Read more about Chelsea in SEMA News: https://bit.ly/4cEJjTF

  • The SBN has named Julieanne DeVooght, senior sales manager at Sprintex Superchargers, as the network's newest #SheIsSEMA spotlight member! Sprintex USA added Julieanne to their team last year. With Julieanne's racing background, love and passion for empowering women in and out of the industry, her experience running a female-centric podcast "Chic Chat" and owning WranglHer, Sprintex USA felt Julieanne could be a positive addition to their team and customers. "The best advice I received was to plan as perfectly as you can, whether it was a business plan, a plan for a race, evaluating competitors, understanding their style, or the terrain with off-roading, or understanding how Mother Nature adds to the difficulty and how to be prepared if she decides she wants to rain that day, what gear to bring, etc.," said Julieanne. "This advice is why I feel success has joined me on so many occasions." Read more about Julieanne in SEMA News: https://bit.ly/3RxMC71
