This is an excellent session from Ryan Chapman and the crew. Time and time again, we see ESXi impacted, as the client's environment was hardened with EDR/XDR and reasonable protections were in place. But.... if the majority or, in many cases, ALL your infrastructure is virtual, this is an easy win for the TA. VMWare has multiple items that need to be enabled to provide protection, and it varies by version. A key driver is a compromise of the root account... don't integrate it with SSO/AD, and treat the creds like gold.
