Giving women and girls a seat at the table and a powerful platform to help turn rhetoric into action.

About us

The Hamilton County Commission on Women & Girls was formed in 2017 by Hamilton County Commissioner Denise Driehaus to address gender inequity, raise up the voices of women and girls in public policy, and promote women roles on boards and other areas of influence. Each year the Commission works to build off the previous year’s list of recommendations, while also researching new challenges and opportunities to implement change. Through its research and community engagement, it provides recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners, future Commissions, and the community-at-large. The Commission continues to expand its network of community partners, companies, schools, and governments to drive critical conversations and enact sustainable change.

  • **HELP SPREAD THE WORD!** 2024-2025 Applications are now open! It's that time of year again! The Hamilton County Commission on Women & Girls (Hamilton County, Ohio) is once again looking for interested candidates to apply to serve as a member of the Commission for the 2024-2025 term. We are looking to appoint 10 women and 10 high school girls to serve at this time. Each year, Commission members meet monthly to research and learn about the current and most pressing needs and gaps of service for women, girls, and other marginalized communities in Hamilton County. Their term will conclude with a presentation of their recommendations of ways that the County and other local stakeholders can work together to address those needs, to the Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners. This opportunity offers women and girls to learn more about their community and drive real and impactful policy change. Through this experience, they will practice listening, learning from one another, collaborating with community partners, developing their leadership skills, and providing & receiving mentorship. By ensuring their voices are included "at the table," the Commission on Women & Girls continues to strive to build a more equitable and thriving community for us all.
