The state has unveiled its first climate action plan and is seeking $189 million in federal funding to electrify government fleets, install solar panels on public buildings, and promote energy efficiency. This plan prioritizes reducing emissions from transportation and buildings, which are major contributors to Ohio's carbon footprint. Exciting news for Cincinnati cyclists and pedestrians! A 4.75-mile paved trail, the Oasis Trail, is coming soon. It will connect Sawyer Point downtown to the Lunken Airport Trail and the Little Miami Scenic Trail. This project brings us closer to a nearly 90-mile trail network across Hamilton County!
A new trail connector is coming to Cincinnati! Great Parks, the City Of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Metro, and the Indiana & Ohio Railway (IORY) announce an agreement for the Oasis Trail, a paved 4.75-mile shared-use trail connecting Sawyer Point in downtown Cincinnati to the Lunken Airport Trail and further onto the 78-mile Little Miami Scenic Trail, made possible by Great Parks’ completion of the Beechmont Bridge Connector in 2022. Great Parks will partner with the City of Cincinnati on engineering and design of the Oasis Trail. The public has identified trail expansion and connections as a priority, and we are delivering on it. Upon completion, Great Parks will manage nearly 90 miles of trails throughout Hamilton County!
